[Everything Changes] Triage and Love

There was a commotion that woke Aerian as she stretched and rolled out of bed, she made her way into the hall a group was closing in on Harely who was on the ground and looked to have taken a beating.

It was an instinct that saw Aerian draw her blade and slid beneath one of them about to drive his own sword through Harley, the blade deflected by Aerians in a shower of sparks. Aerian rolled and was crouched between the small group and Harley as she stood the group backed up.

“Did I not say she was off limits?” Aerian barked the flash of anger through her eyes.

“She deserves everything she has coming to her,” The guy from yesterday now snapped at Aerian, she didn’t blink as her right hand sent him to the ground.

“You’re not wrong, she probably does, but that’s not your choice unless you’d like your chance,” Aerian replied darkly “We do this the old way, my way, you and Harley if you win she’s out of here,”

“And if she wins,” He asked coldly

“That’s up to her,” Aerian replied as she turned offering her hand to Harley, the moment her back was turned she felt him move toward her, again on an instinct, she turned her blade blocking his attack as she turned past kicking the back of the knee with a crack sending him to the floor.

Aerian would have driven her own blade through him had Serah not caught her wrist “You said no more murder,”

Aerian flicked her blade in her palm and then with a flick of her wrist snapped it into the ground at her feet.

Domi was in the hallway now, rubbing his eyes, while Virra lounged against the door in just the large tunic with her bandaged thigh exposed.

“What the hell…?” Domi said, motioning for Harley to near their room. “What happened?”

Harley ducked past the small group as Serah shoved the guy away “Alistair doesn’t fucking listen,” she snapped angrily “You’re girl just gave him a chance to put it right, then he tried to jump her and likely got his knee broke for his trouble, had I not stopped her she would have ended his miserable existence,”

Aerian picked her blade up glaring at Alistair before she walked toward Harley and pushed her into their room “You need to accept we’re taking control, and ignoring the rules is not going to fly any longer, if you have a problem then you take it to the pit simple as that, and you fight until you can’t stand,”

“So we kill in the pit, just not in the halls?” Alistair spat in frustration.

“She never said kill,” Serah replied darkly “And breaking you’re knee probably just saved your ass the embarrassment of getting your ass kicked for the third time today,”

Virra straightened as Harley was pushed to the room, while Virra has been leaning with little weight put on her leg but a limp was noticeable, as small as it was. “I agree with Serah. The pit before was to sort out issues not a vice to kill. Come, Firefly and Serah. It’s time we talk. Domi, you deal with Alistair.”

Domi yawned but moved to point to another and himself to host him up. “Off to the infirmary.”

He walked while supporting Alistair, once back on the table, he inspected the damage. “Damn, she’s still got a kick.” Domi proceeded to give him a bottle, then began to work on a cast. “Everyone is so uptight. So why even bother, you know that things are changing, you’re pushing the envelope.”

“So she won’t kill but she has no problem breaking my leg? She really is good as they said she was, but all our problems started with Harley they should end with her death, she would have killed any of us just as easily,” Alistair sighed darkly, the pain now ripping at him from the knee “I just want her dead, to answer for all those we’ve lost to her recklessness or even her own hand, why is that so wrong?”

“Hm. Perhaps she had no problem breaking your leg to defend herself, which is easily repaired. But as for a life, that is not. This goes to prove that Aerian means to right the wrong. She could have killed you but did not. You speak as though it’s simple. We all know that a majority of you if not all, want Harley dead. But doesn’t that defeat the purpose of no killing? No murder? Everyone has done something unforgivable, it takes a stronger person to give that individual a chance against all the odds to prove worth. After all, didn’t the Ever Present give all of you that same chance?” Domi said calmly.

“Serah is the reason she didn’t kill me, I don’t think your girlfriend planned to let me live, seems she says one and thing and does the other, an irrational mine field is that one” Alistair sighed softly “Though I probably shouldn’t have tried to blindside her,”

“Don’t pretend to know. The fact remains you are alive. Instead of using it for the negative put a foot forward instead of back. We are looking to the future, which means the past has to be left let to lay.” Domi finished up the cast and looked to him. “Yes, that was foolish. Never strike from the backside, which can be viewed as backstabbing. Metaphorically and physically.”

“I will just thank you for sorting my leg, and pray your girlfriend doesn’t hold a grudge,” Alistair replied blankly.

Domi moved to begin to clean the area. “Instead of hope, why not take initiative? Look we aren’t here to dictate or force anything. But a change was needed. I think you and everyone would be better off not fighting against it and see where it goes. She had her reasons for everything. But if I may make a suggestion, take the bull by the horns. Apologize for blind siding her. I’ll be there and she won’t kick your ass.”

“I think I’m just going to stay out of the way today doc, but I will make my peace in time,” He replied with a calm in his voice that was odd in its direction.

Domi nodded to Alistair, moving to place his hand on his shoulder. “Be safe, no more pushing it. Yeah?”

Aerian made her way to quickly check over Harley as she eyed the cuts and bruises, Serah stepped in and then closed the door “You were going to kill him after you set the terms, you would have killed him,” she stated firmly

“It was reaction, he attacked from behind he’s lucky I didn’t snap his neck,” Aerian replied “They are still not falling in line, but perhaps they know we’re not kidding around now,”

“Alistair riled them up, Harley was unlucky, this will teach them, Aerian you just need to keep your temper in check, there isn’t anyone here who can go against any of you three and come out intact, tensions are high but it will settle, if you’re willing to let it,” It was an odd turn for Serah but she was the voice of reason “You over reacted, and now he can’t settle this with Harley and that’s going to just piss him off more,”

Virra chuckled returning to sit in the bed. “Emotions in check. That is a challenge given our circumstances.” She patted her belly which now has formed a small bump.

Serah stared in though before looking at Aerian “Wait, both of you?” She then looked to Harley who was looking just as stunned by yet another revelation, “And she still kicked your ass?”

“Aerian always was kinda special” Harley replied softly “Not really the brightest choice, combat while pregnant? Even for you that seems reckless,”

“I’m fine, and I would never have put myself in a situation I couldn’t control, you know that. We have to ensure the future of The Ever Present, and my family, I can’t do that without support,” Aerian shrugged softly “We need to stop fighting among ourselves, past is past, but the future is what matters,”

“Perhaps not. But, we aren’t going to ignore the future. We need support while attempting to gain the strength that the Ever Present was. Now, it could be better than before. The fact remains, no murder and no killing. Look ahead and not behind. We do have Domi looking out for us, as well as each other. Now you know the truth of emptiness between her and me. We returned regardless of our situation and we aim to make this right and steer in the right direction.”

“I must admire your commitment, it’s hard for some of us to consider, and we’ve changed leadership twice in the last day, not hard to understand why we are little rattled?” Serah replied softly the cold edge of her voice now had dissolved “Your boy talks sense, asked I give this new direction a chance and so I will stand in support, but the choice should be theirs not because they have to but because they wish to?”

Aerian nodded softly “Anyone who wants to remain I said it before they can, things are not going back to what they were, and if that’s the reason then that will be their choice as well, we are here to lead not to dictate,”

“It will take time. Everlands wasn’t built in a day and we have had our fair share of bumps along the way. Much the same as Ever Present. She loves the group as a whole, which is why she came back. It takes a strong person to admit fault and go about correcting it. Right, Firefly?” Virra smirked, leaning back, extending her hand to Aerian. “Harley, you probably should get those scrapes looked at.”

Aerian slipped into Virra with a kiss to her neck “It will take time, but we will get to where we were once, we will lead by example, seems to work well for my dad,”

“Still can’t believe your dad is Kane Elcarus, that’s a lot to digest,” Serah replied, “Anyway if you’ll excuse me I need to go talk with a few people, I will return in a while and give the lay of how things are?”

“I’m Ok Aery, bruised pride more than a few scrapes, though I’m sure your doctor friend will check me all the same when he returns,” Harley added as she settled back by the fire now beginning to rebuild it.

“Sounds good, Serah.” Virra watched as the woman left, then returned a kiss to Aerian’s crown, shifting her gaze to Harley.

Just then the door opened and Domi entered, motioning for Harley to sit in a chair to inspect her. “Your injuries are superficial. You’ll be fine and Alistair definitely had a broken leg, Aerian. He may at one point come to apologize, though be wary of him, both of you. He regrets blind siding you.”

“I suspect he may try something else, I can’t expect everyone to play nice, but you treated him so they can’t say we are treating anyone any different, I think you’ve spent more time performing triage since we got here than we have had together,” Aerian smiled softly.

“Face hurts, ego hurts, but I’m still alive so that’s something,” Harley smiled softly before standing, “I think I’m going to go hide in my room for a while if I can help just send for me,”

Domi nodded to Harley, watching her leave the room and sighed. He moved over to Aerian and Virra, laying his head down in Aerian’s lap. Virra leaned to kiss and nibble at Aerian’s neck. “Yes, you’ve been a busy man.”

“I’m fine so long as I can do my part. It’s been tiring but there isn’t anything I wouldn’t do to make this go smooth and keep my beautiful angels happy.”

“And there isn’t anything we wouldn’t do to keep you happy,” Aerian barely even though as her response came from her lips. As she felt Virras kissed she whimpered softly, “I would do anything for either of you,”

Domi caressed Aerian from her ankles to her thigh, turning his head to kiss her thigh with a playful nibble. “How are my beautiful mothers to be? Your hand Aerian? Your leg Virra?”

“It’s still sore, Domi, though I figure it will be as such for a while yet. My bosom is sore…” Virra whispered.

“Oh, well, I can’t wait to help when it’s swollen with milk. Each of you.” Domi teased with a wiggle if his brows.

“You’re such a pervert…” Virra sighed with a smirk.

“But he’s our pervert, so many girls around here and he doesn’t so much as take a look. It’s nice,” Aerian mused softly as she let her fingers wander gently over Virra before she shifted to kiss Virra deeply.

The shift was met with Virra wrapping her arms around Aerian, due to her injury her movements were limited. But Domi began to nibble and kiss their necks, taking his time on each, it was apparent his goal was to mark them with hickies.

Aerian moaned as she felt Domi against her neck before she sat back and peeled off her top her eyes now looking to Virra “I think he’s trying to mark his territory.”

Virra smirked while leaning to kiss, Aerian deeply, though turned her cheek to rest against her naked bosom with a brief lick. Before grabbing him by the shirt to pull him up. “I don’t like being marked.” Though in the next instant her lips were on Domi’s neck, suckling intently with a groan from Domi. It was clear that the tides were turned and she was determined to mark him.

Aerian joined her nipping at Domis flesh before suckling hard. Before she shifted her attention to Virra, her hands now sliding up over her sides and over her stomach and then up to caress her breasts.

When Aerian’s lips left Domi’s neck, he had a mark, but on Virra’s side there was the peppering of such upon his flesh. A moan left her lips as Aerian touched her bosom. The thin fabric of the tunic separating from flesh contact, Virra parted from his neck, while turning her lips against Aerian’s in a deep kiss. Her hands lifted to cup and massage the mounds. Domi was watching them but began to loosen Aerian’s pants and dip a finger down to tease her hidden pearl, doing the same to Virra though dipped his hands beneath her tunic.

Aerian felt his touch and sighed deeply, as she squirmed against him before kissing Virra once more, Aerian moaned against Domis touch and the kiss.

A smirk appeared in his lips, while Virra moaned and attempted to adjust. “Don’t move too much, Virra.” He warned, as his hand appeared to quicken beneath her tunic. But now before Aerian could react his mouth was fixed greedily upon her bosom, centering on the flesh with a whip of his slick muscle. His finger sorted lower and sunk into her waiting folds, struggling around add a thumb for added to focus in her plump pearl.

Aerian pushed back into him as her eyes closed sinking down onto her elbows laid with her head against Virra, “He doesn’t play fair,” she murmured softly.

Virra chuckled, tilting Aerian’s chin up to press her lips against hers, the kiss was deep and hungry, passionate. As the sound were fed into the kiss, she head the buckle of his pants released. Before she registered what happened, Domi had ripped her free of her pants and was flipped over on her knees. While Aerian was face to face with Virra’s dripping gate, a glorious sight. Without a moment’s hesitation, Domi plunged himself deep within her silken folds, strong hands reaching around to massage and pinch her buds.

Aerian let her tongue flick against those warm juices with a soft whimper, as Domi plunged into her she felt her body tense, a low growl escaping her, feeling him fill her deeply she moaned now moving to allow her fingers to dip into Virras wetness, her tongue searching for Virras already swollen pearl.

Virra cried out with the dip of Aerian’s fingers, the slick tool focused on her pearl, tilting her head back with her hands lifted to tend to her own bosom.

Domi began to thrust into Aerian, while plucking and punching her buds, the speed increasing with the shrewd clapping of his hips against her bottom. A smack was heard, as one hand left a red mark but massaged the cheek apologetically, only to continue with the process.

Aerian growled as his hand struck her but felt her body tense, and yet felt herself only get wetter, as she probed Virra deeply with her fingers, her tongue flicking against the tender pearl. As he struck her again she pushed back into his has increasing the impact and causing her to whimper.

Virra was releasing those beautiful sounds, it was clear she was attempting to rest her leg. Her folds throbbed around the constantly delving digits, she was building to her release, and then it happened. A rush of juices was spent from her honey pot, causing her tremble and the more Aerian continued the more of her sweet nectar flowed.

To Aerian’s buck back, Domi massaged her half-moons then latched to her hips, pulling her back into the thrusting. The sound and smells in the room were carnal heaven. Just then Aerian felt his monstrous tool grow, inflating and stretching her passage. Suddenly twitching and exploding, filling her with gob after gob of his molten seed.

Aerian moaned deeply as Virras release struck, as Domi quickened her pace, she removed her fingers from Virra curling them into the bed, her own body heated causing her cry against the thrusts, as she felt him release with her she ground back against him before her body tensed, her muscles clamping against Domi milking every drop deep within her a low growl was lost the sheets beneath her.

Domi continued to rock within her, slowly, leaning forward to press her lips in a flutter along her spine a steady hand massaging Aerian’s shoulder tenderly. But he leaned to lick her ear. “I love you, Aerian.”

He removed himself with that articulate plop and swept the fiery haired woman in his arms. Shifting her to his right, while settling between the two woman with an arm curling around each. It was a tender moment, as he shifted his lips in gentle kisses between the two, recovering from the passionate moments and savouring this time before sleep stole them away.

Aerian shuddered against the kisses, as she slid into his lap and returned the kiss, her hand now reaching trail over Virra softly, before nestling into Domi and stretching her legs out and over Virra.

Virra glanced to Aerian with a smirk, learning against her and Domi. “Seems your plan to mark us backfired.” She mused, looking at his neck that was peppered with little hickies and one side with others but larger.

Aerian chuckled to her words with a grin before placing his hand on her stomach “I think he just likes it when we retaliate,” her words were soft, as she leant to kiss his neck softly.

[Everything Changes] The Human and the Gifted

Hades had lost track of how long they had been in this metal contraption Ascondia referred to as a car, between the ache in his side and bruising of his ribs he was finding it hard to focus. The gun had gone off at point blank range against his lower abdomen the very thing he had been afraid of in this encounter. He was, however, grateful it had been him and not Jade.

The car turned off the road and onto a dirt road, the bump causing him growl this time the pain all too clear, as Ascondia looked round to them “Is he OK? Hades what the fuck happened out there,”

“I told you, he got lucky,” Hades bit back

“How is he even conscious right now, you know he got shot, right? I’ve seen guys try to hide gunshots a thousand times before and there is no way Luke missed,” There was a tone of fear in her voice in that moment as they finally came to a halt, the wooden cabin just ahead, it was run down and even from the outside looked dirty. Hades sighed softly, much like Jade he wished in that moment he was home.

Jade looked to him now, as Ascondia’s words were more than clear. She smacked Hadess hands away from the cradle of his abdomen. Eyes widening at the sight of his clothing saturated in blood, then up to him. “Damn, you…” Was all she said. “Hurry, we have to get him inside I can’t focus in this metal box on wheels.” Jade left her side of the car, reaching to the strange handle and pulling to open the door, leaning down to gather his arm in a gentle pull to drape over her shoulder. Then urged Ascondia to do the same, in order to lead him to the cabin. Jade was frightened she didn’t know how to mend a sound from such a strange weapon.

Hades was still on his feet though took the help, as instinct made him search the area on their way in, Hope turned off the engine and climbed out before joining them, it was dingy within though Hope lit one of the gasoline lamps to spread out some light “The generator is out so we have no power until that’s fixed,”

Hades nodded as he sank onto a couch with a groan, Ascondia looked at him before she looked at Jade, there was a part of her that knew this would be the outcome “He’ll be OK, you know I wouldn’t have put him at risk if I wasn’t sure of that,”

Hope was quickly pulling things out of a cupboard tossing bottles to Ascondia “Water from the well, I have a camping stove here we can boil it before she uses it, though it would just make more sense to take him to a hospital, Connie what is going on, how does someone survive a gunshot wound like that,”

“Happens all the time, but we can’t take him to a hospital, he isn’t exactly,” She breathed in thought looking to Hades as if help he simply shrugged and began working the blood soaked shirt out of his way.

“I’ll be fine, just have to stem the bleeding,” He smiled weakly

“Bullet has to come out first,” Ascondia replied blankly before gathering the bottle and exiting the cabin.

Jade sat beside him, assisting on pulling off his shirt, looking to Hope and requesting a bottle of liquor. When this was presented Jade washed her hands in the beverage and then offered Hades the bottle. Now with her hands cleaned, Jade began to inspect the skin and the depth of the wound with a fingertip, then up to him. “It’s…deep…” She muttered, accepting a towel from Hope. “I need something to grasp the item and pull out with a bowl, plus a needle and thick thread to stitch him…this isn’t going to be easy, beloved. It’s near an organ…next time, we do this together. Two eyes are better than one…Don’t you dare think I’m going to hear your lip, you are going to be a father and we ARE going to be married. Got that?” Her eyes began to glow that yellow but kept out of Hope’s view to not frighten her.

Hades smiled softly as he watched her before he spoke “Don’t waste time stitching, hot knife, I can’t afford to be thinking about stitches if we go after Kara,” He breathed softly

“How is he even conscious,” Hope stated softly before she handed Jade a towel and pair of long nose pliers “I’m sorry but we’re not exactly an ER here, gotta make do with what we have, I’m gonna go make sure Connie is OK,” she was quickly gone

“I think I’m making her nervous, though I suppose people don’t tend to walk around after they get shot here, seems demon side is still intact, just not as frontal as he would be at home, I’m Ok I promise I just needed her to get her act together so we could leave, though I have probably complicated our job more than we need,” Hades let his hand slide over hers gently “Just pull the bullet and then seal it few hours of rest and I’ll be good,”

Jade watched as Hope left the room, then looked up to Hades as his hand was set on her own. Those yellow eyes fixed on him while Jade sighed softly. “You are in no position to tell me what to do.” She growled to him, exposing her incisors, then snagged the bottle of liquor from him to wash off the pliers, giving him back the bottle. “No, you are right. Stitches aren’t needed, because, I will be healing you to speed up the process. This is going to hurt, take a swig or two.” Jade stated while looking at the wound and working the pliers within the open wound, working around for a few moments then wiggling the bullet free. Each movement she made was calculated and expert. Once the bullet was free, she pressed the towel hard upon the wound. “Keep the pressure, while I do my work,” Jade said softly.

She closed her eyes as Hades felt the hairs on the back of his neck stand on end, electricity was in the room. Any remaining from the lines to the electric were utilized. He then saw the form of the kitsune aura present itself around her, then her hand was placed against his skin. That is when he felt the stinging pain of his ribs, adjusting and being pulled together followed by the punch of pain to his abdomen. Then the burning itch extending from within him outwards, the very fibres of his flesh, veins and beginning to meld and heal. Just as it was about to reach the surface, there was a light bulb that blew.

Everything happened very slowly, as the aura of her kitsune faded and Jade fell back with her eyes closed. Hand holding the pliers released causing the bloody bullet to fall from the grasp and Jade had fainted. She was still barely breathing now, as the dark threads spilled around her head with the exposure of her sea gifted collar.

Hades was on the ground beside her the moment she fell back, his hand catching the back of her head, he scooped her up to lay her where he was, throwing his jacket beneath her to avoid laying her in his blood.

“Well this is going to be awkward to explain,” Ascondia chuckled as she now stood with Hope looking as if she’d seen a ghost “Glad you’re OK though, I know we can’t do this without you,”

“Getting shot sucks, you know that right?” Hades bit back with a smirk and she nodded before closing the door and pushing Hope to sit down opposite Hades.

“OK, so you’re not going to buy the she’s a nurse deal now, so listen carefully. All those myths and legends are usually based on some kind of fact, based on some story of some encounter from another time,” Ascondia sighed softly as she made her way to sit beside Jade resting her hand on her forehead “She’s warm, but hopefully in saving your ass, the worst is over now, let her rest, we’ll be safe here,”

“So what’s the plan now, moving through the city isn’t going to be easy while they are looking for me,” Hades replied

“They won’t be, Hope is going to make those reports vanish, and once we have Kara, if she chooses she can come with us, don’t start Hades,” Ascondia held her hand at him before he had a chance to argue “She can’t stay here Luke will end up killing her, and she’s already seen too much, also apparently I can’t use my memory magicks here anymore or just on her unsure which, so our options are limited. So here’s the deal you’re right he’s not normal he’s half human part demon, and a sprinkle of vampire and by vampire yes I mean the bite your neck and drink your blood kind, though not quite what you think, they’re as alive as you or I, and can be shot, and hurt and killed just easily, no silver or garlic,”

“You know how this sounds?” Hope stated as she stared now at the three opposite her and what about her blowing out bulbs?”

“She’s Kitsune, a fox of sorts with more power than even I’m sure of, she is harmless to you and is here with her husband to be, she had to tap into a lot of power to access that level of power here our natural powers get dulled in this realm,”

“Our …” Hope stated “As in? You aren’t?”

“Human?” Ascondia chuckled softly “God no, I’m an angel and I mean that in the literal sense, big feathered wings and all, though I lost my wings when I was young because I made some wrong choices, got kicked out of what you would deem as heaven and fell into my home The Everlands which over the centuries has had limited contact here hence the myths and legends, it’s a lot I know but Hope we’re on borrowed time chasing down a fugitive from our own realm and this girl is ten shades to wind of bat shit crazy. She kills without concern, and I suspect is hiding somewhere I need to know if there’s anything logged recently that doesn’t quite make sense, that’s why we came to you, I need to take her back and I need your help to do it,”

Jade remained still, while her breathing grew more and more steady, head laying on Hade’s lap with the dark halo of her hair pooling in and over his legs. She appeared content, while in her slumbering state beads of sweat glistened on her forehead now, displaying the fever that had taken her from absorbing the power in that moment. Stunning and beautiful, even in this moment. She had sped up the healing within Hades, even now, he continued to feel the throbbing remnants of her focused mend. Meaning in just an hour, he would be as good as new, no scar only the bullet on the floor.

Hades stayed with her head in his lap his hand working gently through her hair as he watched Hope try to process the information dropped on her by her former best friend.

“So twelve years ago, when everyone thought you’d been taken, and after your daughter disappeared? Where have you been?” Hope stated her mind racing over what she was being told now.

“I had to go home, and my daughter is fine, after the fire I had no choice but to send her home ahead of me she was becoming dangerous, it was the best place for her, please is there anything you can do to help us track Kara?” Ascondia replied softly. Hope sat now looking at Ascondia, the bruising on her face had subsided a little as she thought on her words.

While everyone was intent in conversation, Jade’s eyes had opened, silently watching everyone. As Hope paused to consider Ascondia’s words, Jade felt her stomach cramp, this broke her silence now, as a whimper escaped her lips and she curled over with her hands over her abdomen. But when Hades made the concerned move, she simply held a hand up to stop him. “Just a reflection of your pain…I’m fine now. Just really tired. Please, Hope…this Kara is far more dangerous than Luke. Unstable and doesn’t belong here. She will cause more damage than good. We need your help to find her.”

“I can’t exactly walk into the precinct looking like this, but I can make a few calls, at least throw them off with Luke, and see if anything weird … er has happened the last few days,” Hope replied her head already thudding inside her own skull.

“Just be quick Hope, we’re on borrowed time with her, lives are at risk,” Ascondia replied now.

Jade looked to Hope while considering her. “Ascondia, boil some water for tea. She needs something to relax.” She adjusted a slight offering her a small cloth bag. After Ascondia was busy, she looked up to Hades, lifting a hand to caress his cheek. “Better now?”

“Sore, but I’m OK,” Hades replied softly “But I’m not concerned about me, how are you?”

Ascondia took the bag and made her way to the small camping stove, a flicker of the flame as she ignited it before placing a pan upon it. Quietly she poured the water into the pan and watched as it began to heat up.

“I’ll be fine. Just took a little out of me. I’m not used to the electrical charge of this realm. Seems it is more powerful then I realized. As long as you are safe and feel better, I’m good.” Jade smiled up at him taking his hands in hers to kiss his palm.

He took her hand and brought it to his lips in a soft kiss “Good, and yea the electricity is a little temperamental here, in our realm we can control it, here it tends to do as it wants, no more tapping into it again unless you need to,”

Hope had disappeared into the back bedroom and could be heard pacing and talking in a lowered tone, Ascondia was keeping herself close just in case Hope decided they were worth more betraying than helping.

She adjusted to sit up, eyeing him. “No more doing stupid shit, without me. You know we are stronger together.” Though, Jade leaned against him while watching Ascondia silently with Hope pacing in the other room. “Is she trustworthy? That man may have scrambled her noggin,”

“With my life,” Ascondia replied with a soft smile “But it’s been 12 years, mostly she has been asking questions, doing her job. She hasn’t told on us yet, which means she is considering my offer, which also means it was real bad,”

Hades drew her closer “Wasn’t planning to get shot,”

Ascondia raised a brow in thought then returned her attention to the door,

“OK maybe I knew he might be armed, it’s why it had to me,”

Jade adjusted to slip into his lap, learning her cheek against his chest, leaving a hand within his. “It’s why it had to be you? What do you mean?” She sided watching Ascondia from her lean.

“I knew I could take the bullet, I also knew you’d keep my dumb ass alive,” He smiled kissing her neck gently, “I knew you’d have my back,”

“He knew you’d talk him out of it and we needed the distraction,” Ascondia watched them for a moment before moving away from the door as Hope re-emerged.

Jade lifted her head offering Hope a smile while waiting for the tea. “What is the update, Hope?”

“Girl kicked the ever living crap out of 4 guys who tried to have their way with her, two of them are badly beaten, one got his spine shattered and the other,” She grimaced darkly “Got his head crushed,”

Ascondia sighed darkly as she heard the news “And do they know where she is?” She was now looking out over the lake.

“Not yet, but a friend will call if they have anything else, I also told them I was taking a few days after Luke attacked me and some nice guy put him on his ass, it won’t hold but it buys time” Hope sighed as sank down on the couch opposite them now.

Jade listened silently, looking to Hope, but kissed Hades on the cheek. Rising slowly but steadily to kneel before Hope. “It’s hard. You are strong. You don’t need to be alone in this. Believe me, I….know. See I was forced to until the slave caravan was stopped. I was meant to serve…every twisted fantasy with any man. It was not a good life. It wasn’t a life, circumstances…may be different, between me and you. Even world. But I found my rock, you will find yours. You feel like…you can’t hide. Perhaps, hiding is…not the answer. A new life. A new home…Ascondia. A little help here.”

“She is trying to tell you we have your back, I had to leave to go home, I want to help you, but I can’t until we bring in Kara,” She smiled to Jade “He’s already taken a bullet to get you out, she let her fiancée get shot to help you,” Ascondia paused “OK let is probably bending the narrative, still we have already put time into saving you now I need your help,”

“I have no more, all we can do is wait unless you know how to track her,”  Hope replied softly

“Well…let’s think about it like this. Start from the first attack? Maybe there is some kind of money or tavern type trail? I don’t know how those things work here.” Jade said, returning to Hades side.

“That’s the problem, this was a single attack, four men and her, they didn’t come out of it so well, they are tracking her movements via cameras through the city but it’s taking time, Connie the world has changed a lot since you left. We will find her but how do you stop her? How do you stop someone who can take out 4 guys?” There was a panic in Hope now that she was having a hard time dealing with everything she had seen.

Ascondia smiled and pointed to Hades and Jade “That’s how, in our realm he is a bounty hunter, or he was before he became a family man, but we did just stop a war, tangle with dragons, giant spiders, Unicorns,” She smiled “Yup those are real too, I know how it sounds, but how do you think I was able to tell you all those stories at our slumber parties? I didn’t make most of them up, they were real events, I just need you to trust me, just like always,”

“I thought you were dead, but it’s a lot Connie even for me, but then I have nothing left here, my dad was killed a few years ago, mom died last year, I guess starting again wouldn’t be so bad, I’m going to see if I can get that generator running, it’s going to get cold out here tonight and we will need to stay put for tonight,” She smiled softly and made her way out of the house.

“She OK?” Hades repeated quietly as he watched Ascondia now beginning to prepare the tea.

“A lot to take in, humans aren’t built to be exposed to our world so fast, look at their history and what happens when they are, she just needs to deal and we keep our eyes on her, she will lead us to Kara that we can count on,” Ascondia replied

Jade rose still a little weak to help Hades with the tea, one it was done, she poured it into four mugs and offered them to Ascondia and Hope. “What is…these cameras?”

Ascondia chuckled softly pulling her cell phone for a moment before the loud click she spun the screen to show Jade the picture she had taken of Jade “Kinda like memories, but so people can watch or see,”

“You don’t have technology in your world?” Hope looked almost disturbed by Ascondias implication now.

“We lead a far simpler life, more like your medieval period only less violence and more magick,” Hades shrugged in reply “Which is about when I was born here,” he added with a shake of his head.

Jade blinked at the way Ascondia held the phone and a click was heard. Curious, she learned forward to pet at the picture, within faintly was an orange glare. “Hm. Not very good at it. I don’t know it seems like…weird. Do people have privacy? I mean if what you say is true about moving pictures like this one…”

“We have video too,” Ascondia smiled and again aimed the camera at Jade for a few minutes before showing her the replay “Privacy in this world, kinda hard, hell some even record things just for fun, some for memory, some for revenge, the human realm is strange that’s for sure,”

“Really no phones, no video, what do you people do for fun,” Hope replied now wondering what she was getting herself into.

“Usually each other in wild sex parties,” Ascondia smiled before shaking her head softly “Our lives are simpler, well most, I am Queen so little hard for me to relax, his brother has a whole realm to watch over and twins, my daughter is apparently a mercenary for hire so life is never dull I promise you that,”

“His brother? Isn’t he the father of your daughter? It’s a lot to process Connie, I think I’m going to go lay down, there’s nothing to do now but wait, unless you can somehow fix my face,” Hope sighed softly as she walked past Ascondia she placed her hand on her shoulder “You coming?”

Ascondia placed her hand over Hopes for a moment before she nodded “I just need a minute,”

Jade moved over to Hope. “I can try. Your face wounds are not as life threatening as Hades. That is…if you’d allow me to. It will sting initially as I speed the body’s natural healing process.” She offered the woman a small smile.

Hope looked confused but nodded now, as she halted in her approach toward the bedroom “OK, I guess,”

“Did you get that generator working Hope?” Ascondia asked as she moved toward her

“Y.. Yea it just needs fuel and I couldn’t see straight, just pour it in the tank and hit the green button, should fire straight up,” Hope replied

“I got it,” Hades replied and headed off out of the door, a few minutes later and the generator was heard coughing and spluttering before the last bulb flickered to life, the cabin now becoming a little brighter.

Jade glanced to Ascondia as Hades left. “We should do so in the bedroom, she will want to sleep.” She then moved past Hope into the bedroom, while settling in the edge of the bed and instructing her to lay down. Jade waited and then when Hope was in position, she moved to settle at her side. “I need to know if there is any more injury on you.”

Hades made his way back inside as Jade was taking Hope to the bedroom, he had already scouted to ensure there were no surprises “Any chance you can throw up something to alert us of unwelcome guests?” His words to Ascondia

“I can but it won’t be able to tell the difference between animal and person, power isn’t as accurate as I’d want and to be honest I’m saving as much of my energy as I can to deal with Kara and take us home,” Ascondia replied

“Give us ten metres in all direction, if it’s closer than that then there’s good chance it isn’t dinner,” Ascondia nodded and made her way to window as Hades now leant in the doorway of the bedroom watching Jade.

“No just bumps and bruises, he was always careful enough not to break bones, otherwise he’d have the rest of my squad to deal with, guess I should have told them sooner this is the first time he ever really made a mess where it could be seen, he..” She started

“Don’t say he was a good man, before or he wasn’t like this until, he is what he is, you can’t change that and one day it’s going to get you killed,” Hades stated darkly, Hope looked to Jade and fell silent.

Jade glanced over her shoulder to Hades, inhaling deeply. She shifted her hands to place very gently against Hope’s face. “Take a deep breath. Trust me.” She said to Hope, add her eyes began to grow yellow and those canines appeared. In the next moment, Hope felt the sting at her face as the damage done began to mend itself and lower the inflammation, until it returned normal upon Hope’s face. The swelling going down, while the woman’s beauty was revealed and Jade lowered her hands with a soft smile. “I’ve been where you are…get out now, while you have this support.”

“Thank you, so much” Hope threw her arms around Jade sobbing deeply. Hades smiled softly as he watched her for a moment, as Hope lay back down she was asleep within a few minutes. Ascondia slipped past Hades and crawled in bed beside her

“I’ll keep an eye on her, thank you Jade,”

Jade was taken by surprise by the embrace from Hope, even more so by the tears. She simply held the woman, before guiding her down to watch her. When Ascondia returned, Jade simply nodded while rising from the bed and leaving the room to settle on the couch.

Hades drew and blanket over her then settled to sit on the floor beside resting his head against her, it wasn’t long before he too was asleep.

[Everything Changes] Another Life

There was a commotion outside, followed by the loud sound of gun shots causing Hades to sit upright his eyes to the door, a moment later the wailing of a siren as he slid out of bed, still naked and making his way to the window, easing the blind apart to the street below. Figures huddled over a fallen body, the fray of paramedics as they arrived on scene, the red and blue lights of police and ambulance alike.

Jade turned over now, reaching for Hades as he stood, but her eyes widened and slipped from the bed to move closer behind him. Trying to cover her ears. “What is that? What is happening?” She whimpered, though, peeked down at the sight, trying to see the cause of the commotion.

Hades shrugged softly as he stared down into the street “Honestly I have no idea, but it has them in a panic, their world is so far from ours it’s actually unnerving,” His arm wrapped around her as she came close. His head resting atop her head gently, he continued to stare down into the street and the events below.

Suddenly, Jade felt her heart drop and panic settle in. “Ascondia…she gave me that little box thing. Um, a cell phone? She said that she’d be in touch. Had she called?” She moved into the room beginning to look around through the fabric in the floor, before finding it.

Hades made his way to join her, as they fumbled with the screen it lit up startling him somewhat before he stared at the screen, there were however no messages. After a few moments and as if somehow the world around them knew the screen lit up and a tone rang out, the display now read “Ascondia”.

She sat in the floor, eyes wide embraced by the dark threads and legs spread out like a fallen fawn. Jade stared at the glowing display, reading the name Ascondia. But then looked to the green button that stated answer and red button decline. She hit the green button, then offered the device to Hades. “I don’t know how this works…”

“Hades?! Jade?!” The voice called causing Hades to glance around “Press the green button again, I can talk to you both then” the voice was seemingly coming from nowhere but he did as instructed.

“Hey, you guys OK? I was on my way back but can’t get through there’s cops outside looks like someone got themselves shot, I wanted to make sure it wasn’t one of you two,” Her voice sounded oddly panicked as she spoke.

“No we’re fine,” Hades replied still unnerved at talking to the little black box

“Jade you OK? Everything, go well?” Ascondia switched gears “I forgot to tell you how to operate this thing, should have thought that one through, but anyways back to my original question,”

Jade felt a rush of relief to hear Ascondia’s voice, sighing, though adjusting to slip into Hades lap. “Yes. We are fine. Po…police? Is that like guards? A little shaken up. Someone was shot? Hades, let’s get dressed and go investigate…something tells me, it is either bad timing, it is her. This is a trap to drawn us out…”

“It’s the city in general, there’s no way Kara could get her hands on a gun this quick,” Ascondia replied “That’s not to say I couldn’t use the help, my friend is a police officer now and yes the equivalent of our guards, only they do as they please half the time, the problem is I can’t get close to her because of her asshole of a boyfriend, could use a little man power,”

“You mean you want someone who you can put between you and him and know if they get shot they’ll survive,” Hades sighed softly

“I don’t know, but he is three times the size of me, and if I kick his ass it’s going to be hard to explain, and trust me explaining where I’ve been for the last twelve years is going to be complicated enough,” Ascondia replied there was something in her voice that gave away she was nervous “I need to put your husband to be in harms way Jade, but Hope is our best chance to get to Kara,”

Jade looked to Hades, then to the phone. “He’s a big boy. Danger is his middle name. Desperate times call for desperate measures…” It didn’t take a genius to catch on to the unease in her voice.

“OK I’m across the street, small place called Midnight Chicken,” She replied “I want say hurry in case you want any more time to..” Her voice fell quiet as Hades looked at the phone.

“We will be there soon, what do we do take this stop talking?” Hades replied.

“Just press the red button, I’ll see you soon,” The line fell quiet as Hades did as instructed

Jade now stood, moving to look out the window, tugging down the blinds. As the red and blue lights flashed with the crowd growing below. “I’m not sure what Ascondia means to do…but, we have to find out. This realm is so strange to me…” She moved over and began to dress back in her kimono, then slip the coin into a pocket and cell phone. “Midnight chicken…I wonder what kind of place that is…”

“Hard to believe I was born here,” Hades replied softly “But that was quite literally another life time ago,”

Hades was beginning to dress as he watched her, then pulled on his shirt “I hate the idea of being unarmed, that is what bothers me the most,”

She fixed her ubi, then faced him working her fingers through the knots in her hair. “Think of your body as the weapon…come to think if it. I would like to teach you the style I know. Maybe I should do this?”

“I think Ascondia is counting on the fact that if we get into something I can take whatever comes, she also knows I would never allow you to put yourself in this predicament, I may not have all of Kanes vampirism qualities but I have enough,” Hades made his way to her kissing her cheek “Besides it’s going to hurt like he’ll, you’re the back up while I’m down in tremendous amounts of pain,”

Hades smiled softly “And between us I’d still rather know it’s you watching my back, not our dear Queen,”

She responded to the kiss with a turn off her lips to his, inhaling deeply. “I always have your back, beloved. Come. Let’s get this over with…”

Hades smiled and nodded as he grabbed a coat from the door and led her out, the building had a second exit allowing them to avoid the police out front, before they crossed the street and then walked down reading each of the shop names.

The shop in question was a take away fried chicken, Ascending was leant on the window waiting for them, as they approached she waved, she was now wearing all leather, “She’s at home, but the boyfriend is in the way, I went through my options Jade I promise”

Jade sighed now, while standing a long side Hades, giving his hand a squeeze. “I know. But I’m not going to be far.”

“Too right you will, when she gets him hurt or Hades drops her sex toy, I’m going to let you put the fear of God in her,” Ascondia chuckled darkly tossing the last of her box of chicken in the trash.

They made their way through the city and down into a residential area, the houses were slightly run down, but still in good shape. As Ascondia peered at the piece of paper she pointed “417 Field Pine” She tucked the paper away and led them along.

Jade grinned to Ascondia, it was different to have the strange connection the two had now. It was a mutual respect and understanding. She took Hades hand and walked with them to the location. “So Hades goes in there and focuses on the boy toy, while we hope to get what? I thought this was your friend…or am I confused. Is this Hades sister?”

“Hope was the only girl who gave me the time of day when I came here to hide, her dad was a police officer, she was always kinda sweet but then she got with this guy Luke,” Ascondia was watching the door calmly “I left not long after that but he was always a prick. I saw them earlier and let’s just say he isn’t going to let me just walk back in there,”

Hades looked to her then the door “And he’s armed with one of those gun things?”

“Most likely, but he will likely try to hit you first just the question of how we get him to answer the door, then as I said we find if the police know anything about Kara, she will have created some chaos since arriving here, she isn’t the type to just go quietly into the night,” Ascondia replied softly.

“Hm. Let me be the one to ring the doorbell. A pretty girl, that lost her dog? If she is or isn’t home, it will get his attention. Then Hades can surprise him. Since to most I appear young, it could work.” She looked between the two. “Right?”

Hades smiled softly “Lost your dog jealous boyfriend catches you talking to another man, should get his pants in a bunch?”

“And while you drop his ass, Jade and I will have words with my friend,” Ascondia smiled softly “Unless you don’t want him yelling at you?”

She glanced to Ascondia then to Hades. “That settles it then. Stay close to me, but keep out of sight until the door is open and I place my hands together to indicate it is the male.” Jade kissed Hades deeply, in that moment, Ascondia was a memory while her lips and slick muscle drew into the kiss to lend him her support. But broke it, while nodding to Ascondia, “Be ready.” Jade moved up to the door, ensuring that Hades was close and lifted her hands to knock in the door.

The door opened the man covering the while door around six foot ten and built like a wall, as he looked at Jade then over the street.

“Can I help you?” His voice was almost a low growl as he took a swig from the can in his hand. Hades felt the hairs on his arms prickle as he caught sight of the guy, he steeled himself for what was to come.

Jade smiled to him while looking to the can of beer then up. This man towered over her, making her seem small and fragile. “Oh, wow. You’re a big guy…um, I’m sorry to bother you. But you see, my boyfriend and I got in a fight. He left the door open and now my poor Onika is missing. I wonder…have you seen her?”

“Lil thing like you wandering around? Are you new to town?” He stared watching her and yet kept looking past her to the streets “I ain’t seen no dog missy”

Ascondia was creeping her way toward the house, allowing her to listen in on the conversation before she looked across ensuring she had lines of sight on Hades and Jade now.

“Yeah. Boyfriend dragged me to come with him. Then he did this, I’m so angry and frustrated.” She clapped her hands together over her face as Jade began to cry. “I…I think I’m lost…to top it off.”

Hades remained watching the scene ahead as he waited for the signal, the moment he heard the clap he stood and made his way toward her, steeling himself in that moment before grabbing her wrist and spinning her around to him, “The hell are you doing!” He barked there was a darkness in his voice that carried easily “I told you to get your ass back in the house, I swear I’m going to kick your ass for the waste of time I’ve had tonight looking for that stupid fucking dog,”

Jade looked to him, while those fake tears were rolling down her cheeks, meeting his gaze with a spark in them. “I’m sorry.” She muttered with her shoulders slumped, but then it happened suddenly. Jade curled her hand in his to give him momentum and spun gave him a shot at the man. Though it was at seeming the same instance that her for lifted and kicked out the front of his knee to give Hades a clean shot at his face to knock him out.

Hades caught him clean though was stumbled as he pushed Hades aside, Ascondia edged from her hiding place to pull Jade out of the way of the ensuing brawl. Hades got a clean boot to the ribs before another to the jaw.

“Come on we need to move while Hades has his attention,” Ascondia whispered pulling Jade toward the now vacant door.

Jade looked to Hades apologetically, but nodded to Ascondia, while being pulled through the door to find this girl.

“He’ll be OK, I don’t know many who are better in a hand to hand fight than your husband,” Ascondia whispered as they crept into the house, the kitchen was a wreck piled high with plates and unwashed dishes, as they made their way to the front room. A woman was sat on the sofa eyes glued to the screen of the TV flashing images about the shooting earlier.

“Hope?” Ascondia sounded shocked as she spoke, the woman jumped suddenly before turning, her face swollen as she looked at the two women.

“Connie?” Hope whispered softly, Ascondia was at her side in only a moment.

“Oh my god, what has he done,” She growled there was an anger in her voice now usually reserved for those who crossed her path.

“Connie, you can’t be here, you can’t, Luke he will, he doesn’t,” Hope tripped over her words as she stared at her friend.

“Oh I wouldn’t worry about him, he has his hands full with something with a far worse than his temper,” Ascondia chuckled in reply.

“He’s armed,” Hope sighed darkly, no sooner had she spoke that the shot rang out, followed by a crash.

Ascondia looked up and back toward the door, the moment held as if for hours before Hades finally made his way in, he nodded softly and looked to Hope.

“He’s unconscious, for now, I’m taking it you been a law maker you can make him go away now? Seriously, you’re not going to keep being lucky with him,” Hades kept his place in the doorway as he mustered a smile.

“You OK?” Ascondia asked there was a concern to her words now.

“Yea,” Was all Hades replied.

Jade stared at this woman anger billowing in her, at the sight of the woman’s face. Hope. It was as she mentioned the gun that Jade’s heart sunk to the soles of her feet and then that gunshot sounded like thunder in her ears, she yelped and placed her hands over her head ears. That sound echoing in her head, regret instantly instilled, it seemed as though she held her breath remembering that a shooting killed someone just outside their hotel until Hades appeared. Without a second thought, she moved to him and kissed him, not taking his word for an answer and inspected him.

She turned to Ascondia and Hope. “We need to get out if here. Especially, you, Hope before he wakes up and I kill him…no one deserves the way he had treated you. He doesn’t love you, all he uses you for is a punching bag.” Her words were cold and full of a darkness that Hades, not Ascondia have seen, she was trembling. “You can do better. But it means you walking out. Now.”

“She has a point, and I warned you about him,” Ascondia replied now slightly unnerved by the last few minutes as she watched Hades and Jade before turning back to Hope, “Your parents had that place out by the lake, we should go there, lay low and if he follows, well he will be made to disappear,”

Hades was remaining still as he could, as Jade kissed him he smiled softly, “I really am OK, he hits hard but I’m fairly sure he learnt a lesson, don’t piss me off,”

“The cabin has been abandoned for years, probably since the last time we went up there,” Hope replied barely above a whisper as she looked at Hades “I know him, he took your daughter, and I know you have a daughter Connie I was there,”

Jade looked to Hope now, sliding her hand in Hades. “Yes. We will protect you. Right now, is not the time to play catch up. Get your things, we can gather more on our way to this lake. Hope, times change. A lot has happened since you last saw Ascondia from what I hear. I don’t want to be here when that abusive man wakes up. I’ll tend to your swollen face, I bet it’s beautiful beneath.”

Hope stood shakily as she made her way to a drawer plucking out a set of car keys, before leading them out of the house and into the garage, Luke was crumpled in the corner by the door with a trail of blood down his face, Hades stirred Jade toward the car as Hope climbed in awkwardly.

“You fit to drive?” Ascondia asked, Hope grumbled something in reply and started the car the engine catching Hades off guard and causing him to jump then double over with a growl “Get in, as Jade said we have to go,” there were sounds of sirens now in the distance clearly headed in their direction.

A few moments later and Hope peeled out of the garage and away from the sirens into the darkness.

Jade eyed the strange vehicle, as Hope and Ascondia got in. Jumping in reaction to Hades while his voice in that demanding growl overrode the fear of the strange machine. She quickly got in while settling in the comfortable seats, then heading Hades hand as the vehicle moved away. But looked out the rear window, watching as those lights come closer and lifting her hands to cover her ears, curling up her legs and leaning against Hades. “I don’t like this place…I miss our home…”

“It’ll be OK Jade, the lake is far quieter,” Ascondia replied from the front, she turned to look at Hope “We’ll be there soon enough, just rest, and make sure he’s OK”

Jade nodded to Ascondia, though in the back seat. She inspected Hades, especially his abdomen since he doubled over earlier. Looking at him with concerned eyes. “Beloved, I need to know now. Did that gun hurt you? Are you in pain? I may be able to help you heal…”

[Everything Changes] Broken Bones

Virra was leaning back on the bed, relaxing in her skirt and sharpening her blades, when Domi entered the room. He placed down his bow, moving to deeply kiss Virra sitting at her side then motioned Aerian close to pull her into his lap. Pressing his lips against hers, though after a few moments leaned back. “Explain to me about Tayla. Because from my understanding she is on her way and should be showing up soon. Not too happy.”

“She’s one of the original group, Aerian, Me, Kia and Kellan then Tayla, we were the original Ever Present, she is smart, and as deadly accurate with a knife as you are with a bow,” Harley replied softly as she watched Domi then Virra “She should also be dead, I sent Serah to take her out,” Harley paced the room slowly as Aerian lay against Virra her eyes closed as she simply listened, “And knows this hideout inside and out probably better than anyone as she is the one who brought us here,”

“Well, amusingly enough, Sareh is the one that imparted with the information. You, Harley, are the one she wanted to get close to and a broken hand remains. Speaking with her, we have a lot of work to do in order to prove our word is loyal. Especially you, Harley. In their eyes, you cannot be trusted,” Domi stated while assisting Aerian to sit next to Virra and pacing. “We are here to stay.”

“She wanted something I wasn’t in the mood to give” Harley replied flatly “But Teyla is headed for our humble home, we may be in very deep trouble,”

“Right up to the point she realises I’m here,” Aerian replied absently remaining with her eyes closed as she laid against Virra “She’s good but then so are you, neither could end me, we put me between her and you and see what happens,”

“Don’t be stupid Aerian you are not the twelves gift in combat, I dare bet your girl can whip your ass, or the handsome wonder over there, and I had you down twice, love stopped me killing you not skill Aerian,” Harley snapped coldly watching her “And your pregnant and prone to making really dumb choices like climbing into the pit with a seriously unbalanced murder cult leader,”

“With my wife to be and an archer watching your every move, I was never in danger Harley, if it had got to the point where my life was in danger Virras blade or Domis arrow would have put you down, that was the fail safe,” Aerian replied “There is enough force in this place to stop her,”

“See them jumping in front of Teyla for you?” Harley sighed softly “Wake up Aerian, they are not going to throw themselves on Teylas blades to save us,”

“Then we have to prepare for the worst. I do hope Shadow stuck around, that arachnid never ceases to amaze me.” Virra muttered while Domi shivered to the thought. “What a family, we have here. No one willing to step up. Defend each other, only out for themselves…I suppose I should know better. That was how I was before finding my purpose…perhaps besides the money, which is what the Ever Present needs. A purpose. Survival right now has them by the balls, that isn’t enough to secure loyalty. Regardless of you being present, Firefly, we need to prepare.”

“Let her come,” Aerian replied there was an eerie cold in her voice as she spoke.

“Well well, that spider was a tricky blighter to slip past, but you,” Aerian was already sat as the female stepped from the shadow a right hand catching Harley sending her to the floor, placing her foot over her throat “Don’t be moving Harley hate to have to kill ya faster,” She was calm and focused as her gaze was sizing up Virra and Domi “So what brought you back? And more to the point how is she not dead?”

She was lean and well-built as her short hair was tied back, “What surprised me more though, is you were so sure you didn’t even check a room with only one way in, wasn’t that why you picked this room Aerian? Always rattling on about watching your back, not leaving yourself open and then you go and do just that, have been waiting a while though, slipped in while you were stirring up the troops,” She laughed cold enough to cause Aerian to feel the hairs on her neck raise, she looked to Domi and pushed down on Harleys “Now now don’t down anything dumb or I crush her throat,”

Virra adjusted a slight in the bed to the presence of Teyla, though, Domi remained in place. All eyes fixed on Teyla with Harley on the ground boot against her neck. “Don’t worry, save your breath. You need no introduction.” Virra commented her words clean and sharp as daggers.

“I hate spiders…” Domi muttered, though returned back to settle on the edge of the bed.

“Seems we are at a stalemate.” Virra chuckled, glancing to Aerian now, waiting for her lead since she knows everyone best. Especially those of the founders.

“Let her go Teyla if you were going to kill her she would have been dead before she hit the ground,” Aerian remarked as she watched Teyla.

“Funny, but wrong, killing her is the easy part but I need her to suffer Aerian, just as she made The Ever Present suffer, she sent them to kill me you know that right? Her heads a mess since you left, and oh my god after you left she never shut up,” Teyla rolled her eyes as she pushed down a little causing Harley to squirm under her “Oh stay still honey pie, I’ll put you out of your misery soon enough, even if it is going to cost my life,”

Aerian remained quiet as she watched Teyla before she shrugged softly and settled back into Virra “Fine, but if you insist on killing her please take her out of my room, I am  in no mood to clean up blood,” There was a darkness in her voice that unnerved even herself now.

Teyla paused as she looked at Aerian before she reached down to grab at Harley, the moment she reached down and the pressure released Harley caught her arm and spun from under her, and to her feet as she turned into Teyla there was a crack as Harley caught the back of her elbow. Teyla stumbled as she was caught off guard. Harley kicked her square in the chest before stepping back and looking to Aerian.

“Thought I taught you better than to take your eye of your target, especially a highly unbalanced one,” Aerian looked to Harley who nodded softly and left the room “Don’t suppose you can do anything for her Domi?”

Virra remained relaxed as her arm was held against Aerian, the red-head hearing the steady beating of her heart. Domi moved from the edge of the bed, looking from the leave of Harley and then Teyla. “Harley is a lost cause, I know medicine and surgical procedures but I’m not a head doctor. I’ll check out her throat too. Now, Teyla on the other hand…I’m sure I could help fix the broken rib. Easy peasy.”

Domi neared Teyla, extending a flamboyant bow with a smirk. “Names Domi. Medical certified and marksman.” He chuckled. “Come. I’ll get that chest kick inspected for the rib and painkiller.”

Virra chuckled to Domi, shaking her head while caressing Aerian’s back in a pull close. Kissing her crown. “Go on. Go with Domi, I’ll be fine here.”

“Harley isn’t a lost caused, not yet,” She watched him with a soft smile “She had the upper hand, Teyla should be dead but she stood down, so there’s that,”

Teyla spat blood to the ground and growled as she stood with a groan looking to Aerian and Virra “How can you be so fucking calm in all this, your pet broke my ribs without even a fucking thought, she’s a time bomb Aerian,”

Aerian pushed into Virra and looked to Domi with a soft smile “You’re more than just the medic, you know that right?”

Teyla growled holding her hand at her rib and storming from the room and down toward the infirmary. Before settling on the bed and laying back with a groan.

Domi winked to Aerian, turning to follow Teyla to the infirmary. Moving to gather some items from a cabinet and two pills with a glass of water. “Sit up and take these it will help with the pain.” When she sat up, after taking the medication. Domi instructed her to remove her shirt. “Don’t worry I need to feel the way your ribs move to know the pressure in the bandage.” When she hesitated, but then removed her top. He placed his ear against her chest, listening and with a nod began to bind her torso, some places were tight others lose. “There all set. Come to me when you need the painkiller but I assume you’ll use liquor.” He began to put the remaining items away but spoke to Teyla. “Harley could have killed you, you could have killed her. I’d say that makes it even. But I wonder why. There is some humility left here after all.”

“I planned to make her suffer, I believe I was clear on that? I don’t take kindly to having my life threatened, it seems however things have changed leaving me with uncalculated variables, like a giant spider wandering around outside?” She sighed then groaned awkwardly “Or Aerian being back, which admittedly is nice to see, you and the dark haired girl not part of my plans, should have just killed her when I had the chance,” She shifted her legs over the edge of the bed “Still thanks for the patch up doc, you’re a good man and the world lack those these days,”

He offered Teyla her top. “Might want this. Don’t want to let on that you are injured for others to exploit. If I had coin for every time someone wanted me dead. I’d be a rich man. To me Harley being alive is to make her suffer, kill em with kindness. But forget that, I do have an idea, however, don’t be too hasty. I suggest you go to talk to Aerian. There is a lot of catching up to do.” He then left the infirmary to find Harley in order to inspect her throat and elbow.

Harley was sat by the fire in the throne room, silent and focused only on the flames as she sighed softly, her arm ached and swallowing was difficult, as she simply remained silent and within herself.

Soon with a medical bag in hand, he found Harley, Domi walked over to settle beside her. Without a word, he retrieved a tongue presser. He lifted a hand to turn her face to him. “Say, ‘ah’ and often your mouth really wide.” When she did as instructed, he peered into her mouth via throat. Then lifted his hands to gently feel around her throat in the location of the past boot. “You’ll be fine, the neck may have a bruise and your throat is a little swollen.” He then began to inspect her elbow by moving it up and down, then side to side. “Interesting, you don’t need me to tell you that’s going to be sore for the next week. Quite an elbow you have. Though you will have to wear it in a sling for a day or two to allow the muscles to heal. I want you to move it like I did twice a day for three minutes to keep mobility. It will be good as new before you know it.” He dug around in his bag and removed two pills and a flask of water. “Take one today and another tomorrow. This will help your muscles relax and fight the inflammation in both elbow and throat.”

He closed up his bag to lean back watching the flames. “I know you might be pissed and quite frankly, I don’t blame you. Now as for, Tayla. I’m sure you know what it’s like to have a target in your head. I’m not saying hold hands and be the best friends ever. In the twist of this mess, she could have killed you but didn’t. That goes without saying, there is a reason. I would not jump in without weighing everything. Now, you have much more to consider and mend. Nothing is a lost cause until you give up completely and I know you won’t.”

“Until a few hours ago, I would have killed her the moment I slipped her grasp, she made a mistake and I would have made her pay for it, but that would undo what you, Aerian and Virra are trying to do, I don’t want to be that person, you three will have your hands full as you’ve seen,” Harley sighed filling her mouth then popping the pills and swallowing “I don’t want to undo what Aerian is trying to do, nor do I want to lead, I always preferred to follow, and I would do anything for Aerian, she was always my heart even after she left, but I get it, I don’t mean the same to her and in time I’ll reconcile with that,” She smiled softly before wiping the tears and sighing “I will walk the line, and I will behave myself, I’m also withdrawing from contracts that require murder, Aerian was right when she said I kill because I get off on it, looking at what I’ve become I am afraid of myself,”

Domi placed the remaining items into his bag and placed a hand on Harley’s shoulder before rising. “The only one that can fix you, is you. Yes, I agree, that not taking assassination jobs would be in your best interest. Well, time to go check on my angels. Change bandages and whatnot. See you later, Harley.”

He turned to leave the throne room and head to the bed chambers.

“I’m sorry I hurt Aerian, I forget sometimes how good she is, I never meant to harm her though not for a second,” Harley smiled softly and patted his fore arm “The hardest part in all this is knowing she will never look at me the way she does you and Virra,” Harley shrugged softly and returned her gaze to the flames of the fire.

He entered the bed chambers, moving over to Virra who was in the bed sleeping then to Aerian. Domi leaned over to kiss Aerian deeply, caressing her cheek. “You are amazing. All this time, you have so many that care for you. Seems you always make an impression. From the moment I met you, you’ve stolen my heart.” He took her hand and inspected it while instructing her to flex her hands and fingers one at a time. “Seems I’ve defused some bombs, Teyla had a broken rib and Harley pulled a muscle at her elbow and throat is going to be sore for a few days. How are you feeling?”

“Tired,” Aerian sighed softly as she flexed her hand immediately feeling the knitting flesh resist the movement “It hurts, ribs too, honestly I’d forgot how good Harley was in close combat, but thank you for talking to them. It means the world to me, I’m …” her voice trailed off as she looked at the angry red across her palm “I don’t feel right, like some part of me is missing, I’m glad you’re here and glad she is resting” She let her eyes slip to Virra with a smile “Maybe it’s just being back here that’s throwing me,”

He opened his bag shifting through in order to clean and place some ointment upon the stitches. “This should help keep your skin healing and moisturized,” Domi said softly, placing fresh badges around it. After kissing her hand, Domi looked to Aerian lovingly caressing her cheek. “A lot has happened, my angel. Old memories will give to new. Plus you are pregnant, that is bound to make anyone feel off. Get some sleep, I’ll be right here to watch over my beautiful angels.”

Aerian kissed him softly before curling up beside Virra, “You should lay with us, it doesn’t feel right if you don’t” Her mind focused quickly on the steady breathing of Virra ensuring it wasn’t long before Aerian was taken by the need to sleep. Exhaustion taking over now.

[Everything Changes] Who Watches the Watcher?

Aerian ensured Virra sat upon the make shift throne, taking the weight from her for the moment as she crouched before her, her eyes now looking over room. Domi beside them both with Harley opposite. Aerian stared as she searched out anyone she recognised.

“You know it’s been a weird couple of days, but it’s been worse for you because right now you’re wondering who you can trust, and why Harley is still here, everything Harley is, that’s because of me so I care for her, deeply, she is The Ever Present just as I have come to accept so am I,” Aerian stood now slowly “So I stand, and we take control, to correct a course that has gone horribly awry, The Ever Present was supposed to be the silent sword of justice and somehow that got screwed up,”

“You ran like a coward, so I heard, got tired of laying on your back and being a whore for all and everyone, so you ran away, according to my brother you were a great fuck but a lousy boss, too busy letting the head case fuck you senseless,” A woman called

“So we getting the sex parties back? Cause at least that’s why I joined, never got near a girl, they won’t put out,”

It was sudden but arrows slammed into the roof sending a shower of dust upon the group, as Aerian smiled darkly holding her bow “Yes I screwed everything with a pulse, but I am still the best thief in the realm, why do you think after I left those contracts came to me and not you?  I let an idea become the norm, and that ends now, because ultimately I have to be at peace with myself and well answer to my father,”

“Why who’s yer daddy Kane Elcarus?” Another voice drawled coldly “We are The Ever Present we do what the fuck we want to who we want,”

Aerian looked to him before sending an arrow at his feet “As a matter of fact that’s exactly who my father is, and my mother is Queen Ascondia, so you’d better make peace with that piece of information and make it quick, because if we don’t change they will send their forces to hunt you all down for crimes against the crown and trust me when I say there is no where you can hide, between the Dentarian Army trained by my father and Uncle Hades and the Elveran Forces also trained by my dad, they will cut you down and they won’t think twice about it,” Aerian breathed now feeling the cold rage burn in the pit of her stomach.

“Listen up, you ass holes. Listen good, it never bothered you before about whom who was related to them, why the hell does it matter now? Yes, Aerian left though now has returned to save your sorry asses. Protect her family, the Ever Present from the shit storm that would ensue. She came back.” Virra stated strongly, though looked at the first man that spoke. “You joined for sex and orgies. That was the wrong reason, now the Ever Present has a purpose. A future. You want to throw around names? My father was Bryant. I am the heir of his group. I don’t stand for that shit, which was a sex traffic trade and murderer for hire. You know what happened? He joined the wrong side for the wrong reasons. Don’t be an idiot.” Virra adjusted on the throne. “A joined front is better than a broken foundation. We are here to right the wrongs done to you and others. But mark my word if you are here for a fuck, then you are in the wrong place.”

“Shame,” He muttered now looking at the arrow driven into the rock before him before looking to Aerian “They say you ride like an animal in heat,” there was a leer in his eye that pushed Aerian, the crackle of power over her unmistakable.

“It doesn’t matter what was, but she is right if they send their forces we’re all dead, but you know what happens to these three? They walk away clean, and they will know they tried to save us, I have been to a bad place for a long time because I lost something I cared for more than anything else, Aerian she was my everything for a long time, but seeing her now, with Virra and Domi and the strength she draws from them and them from her, I found something, Aerian built that same thing into me, I didn’t believe in her I just have to believe in myself and I for one,”

“Oh shut up you crazy fucking whore!” The man started but before he finished Harley had cleared the ground landing square on his shoulders sending him to the ground her blade to his throat.

“HARLEY!” Aerian barked causing Harley to look back

“Wasn’t gonna hurt his pathetic ass, just remind who the fuck he’s dealing with,” She stood and stepped back not before driving her boot to the man’s ribs “You should walk away while you can,” She spun on her heel there flashed that’s self-same darkness she had when they first arrived “All of walk if you want, and The Ever Present will rise the stronger for it, but who here doesn’t have a Sheriff or law man hunting for them? Who can walk away and not have to watch their back at all times? You think so fucking small it’s pathetic, at least I know where I went wrong,” Again she kicked the downed member before making her way back to beside the throne.

Domi was quick on his feet to stand behind Harley but never one drew a blade, when she turned to return to Aerian and Virra is when he spoke. “Those words are disrespectful. I had a choice in the war…I made my decision and I don’t regret it. Now, those of you that walk away, turn your back on family and open yourselves up to whatever or whomever–Sheriff or whatever. But stay and take with the changes and the vision that Ever Present was meant to be. To say I was there. I was there when it started to become strong. Respect is standing from this point forward. This is new, a beginning from an end. Now who stands with us!?” Domi stood his words clean, sharp and with authority that was never present before. His dark eyes looking over every individual in the room.

The man glared at Aerian but didn’t move as did the woman, a soft smile curled Aerians lips as she watched none leave, “Interesting, he speaks sense, you all know that, I will reach out to old friends and restore connections that I had severed, our new arrangement is simple the work comes in and we get it done, we do not kill without checking every aspect first, the first to ignore this will be turned over to the authorities of the city they commit the crime, we are not the law, we never were but we are the balance when the law won’t act we will,” Aerian stated firmly now watching the group, “And just incase your wondering we three will conduct the background checks, no assassination contract is taken without us knowing and trust me we will know,”

She settled against the arm of the throne with a dark smile “You are The Ever Present, we are The Ever Present,”

“And Harley? Her crimes under your own rules are punishable,” The man snapped angrily.

“I thought you’d learned your place, you’re still here so you answer to our laws, Harley made her mistakes but I am as accountable as she is, care to question me on that choice? What do you think Virra? Domi? Should we make an example? Or should they just trust me when I say she will behave,”

Domi moved to lounge against the throne, as Virra leaned forward with elbows against her knees with a smirk upon her lips. Cruel. Dark. Sinister. “Hm. Is that what you think? Then ask if you have to be tried for your crimes…in all reality that would take too much time. Harley deserves a chance at redemption.”

“As do all of you.” Domi stated, folding his arms with a casual rest of his chin in the fold. “Changes start now, since none of you wish to leave. I do not think it wise to change the sexual orientation, you want to have a fuck fest. Have at it. Aerian went wrong in joining in. Keep it quiet and with only willing participants, if that will quell those that can’t get any. Do not ask nor EVER insinuate that me, Virra, Harley or Aerian will join. But that is not my decision to make. Aerian, my dark angel…what do you say?”

“It’s their choice, do what you will I’m not your mother, but we are in control,” Aerian replied softly “But you don’t touch Harley, as Domi said she is off limits, sexually or otherwise, and Virra is correct you are all getting a chance, not a second chance I don’t know you, you want my trust earn it. You want our respect, earn it,”

“I thought it’s our choice, does that not extend to Harley as well?” The woman spat her voice dripping in sarcasm now.

“It doesn’t, she has her own problems, and been a play thing to the group orgies isn’t going to help her, she needs to heal, I need Harley back not this broken woman I came to save The Ever Present and believe it or not it starts with her,” Aerian replied firmly “She is off limits plain and simple,”

Virra seemed pleased with this learning back in the throne, tension still in her shoulders, as it was clear to those that know her the pain she was in. “Now, that being said, is there anything else to discuss?”

Domi straightened now, scanning his eyes over the crowd.

“So she’s your fuck toy now?” The woman spat angrily as she shook her head softly “Fine, what about us being paid for a change, your head case pet project over there tends to keep 90 per cent of our contract fees, makes it hard to live sometimes,” She growled the words as she glared at Aerian now.

Aerian looked at Harley who in return, returned her gaze to the floor Aerian sighed softly before looking at the woman “It was always a 50 per cent split, unless you see something else in mind, but dont for a second think I’ll be handing over contract control, remember I don’t trust any of you right now and letting you run wild wouldn’t look good on The Ever Present,”

“Fucking favouritism,” She snapped angrily as she stormed from the room, Aerian laughed darkly before turning to Virra.

“Think I pissed her off,”

Virra smirked to Aerian at her words, though tipped her chin to Domi. He glanced to her and then left the room quickly after the retreating female. “Good, as Firefly said, fifty-fifty. That starts now, we will have to go over the paperwork on the shortage Harley has given to ALL of you to compensate. That in itself was thievery from family. This will not be tolerated from this point forward. We gather and accept, deligate to those capable and you get an even share. I show no favouritism, bring the outside point of view in negotiations. Harley will be NO ONE’S fuck toy. We are speaking of an individual. Yes, she made mistakes, so did Firefly. No one is perfect. Anything else?”

No one spoke as they looked to the new leaders, Aerian nodded and the group wandered off back to their daily lives, as Aerian breathed a sigh of relief now.

“I wonder how they think we paid for all those parties,” Harley sighed “There is no money, they have burned through most of it, what we have barely covers our operating costs right now, when the girls were sore or refused to put out, I just brought … well let’s say most of the men have probably paid for more sex than they’ve had with their counter parts,”

“It’s fine, I can handle it for now, until we run a few contracts, though I won’t be doing anything for a while,” She motioned to her stomach with a smile “Fat girls are not so stealthy,”

Virra leaned back on the throne, rubbing her hands in the arm rest, though looked to Harley. “With no sex parties arranged by us, they will have to dip into their own pockets. That is their half, spend it as they want. You’ll see they will take more contacts given. You please to a certain point, the rest well is up to them. We don’t hold their hand, nor open legs to them. That is where the respect had been lost.” Virra looked to the entrance of the room, taking a finger against the edge. Aerian knew that she was waiting for Domi to return.

“It is time The Ever Present grows up, I’m sure the parties will eventually die down when it stops been the big factor for people joining, for a secret organisation it puts a terrible target on us,” Aerian sighed softly.

Serah swept through the halls silent and angry as she passed by the infirmary followed by the kitchens and finally into the training room, angrily snapping blades from her hips into the training dummy beyond, there was a venom in every action she made.

As she ran out she walked to the dummy and plucked them from the wood looking at the placement, she shook her head and pulled the last one, before turning on her heel and stepping back to repeat the action.

Just then past the last dagger an arrow flew, lodging within the head of the wooden dummy. Turning Serah would see Domi learning casually against the wall with bow in hand. “You made a stand. Feel better about it, Hm? If I didn’t know any better you actually hold deep feelings for Harley. Much more than those around her.”

Serah chuckled darkly and waved him off with a hand “If you consider outright hatred a feeling then yes, Harley is nuts, and very good at getting people to do what she wants them to for her own amusement,” She looked Domi over slowly biting her lip gently “She pined after that fucking redhead for so long, threatened to have her beaten, raped, dragged back here and slit wide open, but she never did, we’ve had to live beneath the shadow of the untouchable fucking Aerian for as long as I remember, and then she waltzes in her and takes control like we’re all supposed to fall in line and be grateful?”

Serah walked to a table and sat on the edge her eyes never moving from Domi now “Harley is fucking nuts, and her redheaded lap dog is blind by this, between them they’re going to get us killed, but they know we can’t leave else we get ourselves killed and it fucking sucks,”

“You believe as you wish. Aerian, is your leader now. Not Harley, but I tell you what…I have something for you that you may just like. Don’t worry it’s not my dick, you don’t trust Harley. Neither do we. I need eyes and ears. You wish this to be handled, then listen to me. This is your chance to earn that respect for walking out on the meeting.

“Play little rat? Not really my style hot stuff, and as for your dick, well as big and tempting as I’d like to believe that is, again not my style I didn’t come here to have my vagina stuffed by any guy who felt like it. I wanted to replace that wanna be hero Aerian, but crazy bitch wouldn’t let me close, and when she tried to stick her hands down my pants I broke her hand,” She shrugged softly “Though seeing her out on her ass, might not be so bad, or am I supposed to rat on Rian? Lola, Becka, Milo? Harley herself? What does would me selling my pride cost me hot stuff?”

“A chance to change things, instead of watch. I extend my hand in a formal peace to you. You seem more interested in jobs and hires. I wish everyone in Ever Present as it stands would follow your lead. We want to make it worthwhile again, don’t turn your back on Harley nor the others. See the benefit, one that is on display others will follow your example.” Domi chuckled with a straighten. “For the record I’m not interested in anything but the potential I see around me. I had hoped you would too. Think about it, I see you going places within.”

“I see so you say I should just fall in line at reds feet? What have you got over them? One guy and a pair of lesbians, one a thief the other a trafficker? And you?” There was an air Selah clearly had her defences up and trust for her was in this moment low on all fronts, “I like sex as, much as the next girl, I just don’t like people you can see my problem in all this right?”

“All I see is a scared girl, putting up a wall. Instead of climbing it and over coming. It is not, me. Nor Virra or Aerian, even Harley. You, have to learn the potential in all things. Granted you don’t trust, neither do I. But I have learned that Aerian and Virra are to be trusted. Pull the will from your eyes that is what blinds you.”

“I do see, you put an arrow through a girl for harming one of your own, you three will protect each other. Even at the cost of us, Harley cares for no one, except herself, can you really blame me? Red claims murder won’t be tolerated, but murder was her opening line,” Serah shifted now crossed her legs on the table as she looked to him “I will admit things need to change, I’m just not sure you and yours are the ones to do it, considering one of you already abandoned us,”

“Zia while I admit, had this all planned from the moment she came to us. She wanted to take over. Kill all of us, whom is to say she wouldn’t have turned on any of you? One life is far more to me to give peace, then a dozen or a thousand. None of you were there for the war. I saw men fall to defend the Everlands, while you all remained here. You are part of the world and I’d much rather see the Ever Present not be branded as murderers but that line of justice when things fail.”

“You do know we all believed Aerian to be a figment of Harley, she had us hunt 4 people down, Zia who it turns out was locked up in an Elcarus held prison. Kia, who my brother beat to death before that idiot and third target Kellan put a blade through I cut his throat before he knew what hit him and last Tayla,” She shrugged softly watching Domi as she smiled softly “Last we heard she was headed back here with intent to kill our mental doll Harley, should be here fairly soon, and she is sharp as a tack, couldn’t get close without a string of throwing stars coming my way, makes a girl shudder in thought at what she could do, so I came home and now I’m waiting and wondering if our leadership is due another change, tell ya what though hot stuff, I’ll play rat if you tell me how the hell you got to girls to drop their panties for ya, cos they really don’t look the type”

“I earned their trust. Through defence and held my pain asking side them in battle. Tayla, you say. Hm. Well I can guarantee, one thing, stand beside us and we will protect you and the Ever Present as family. Even family runs away at times, it takes guts to come back and fix your mistakes. As for Kellen, he had it coming from what Aerian said, you want further details, feel free to ask her, I’m sure she’d be more than willing to explain.” Domi chuckled. “Basically, we all make mistakes. It takes much more to face them than abandon them.” He pushed from his lean, to place a hand on her shoulder the turned to leave the room.

[Everything Changes] Another World and New Rules

As Hades came through the other side into the back alley, he bent over, feeling his breath ripped from his lungs. It took a moment as his brain tried to clear the strange fuzziness it now had. Finally finding his centre he stood turning to see Ascondia, who simply shrugged with a smile, he quickly turned on his heel to find Jade.

Jade was found after looking for a moment hunched over a garbage can while attempting to breath, her chest rising and falling as though attempting to catch her breath.

Hades made an unsteady few steps toward her his hand resting on her back for a moment “Are you OK?” he breathed softly letting his hand run over her spine gently “Just let it pass, it’ll be OK”

When his hand moved over her spine, Hades felt her trembling beneath his touch. After a moment the gaping lessened, then she straightened and gave him a slow nod. But it was clear that she wasn’t ready to move just yet. “The world…is spinning…”

“The first time sucks the worst, even a few trips later it still sucks,” He smiled softly, “We can take a few minutes, take as long as you need,”

“Be patient, it takes a moment,” Ascondia added softly “We will need a place to stay, and money things aren’t exactly as they are at home, I trust we have something we can use?”

“Kane has kept a small string of contacts over the years. Dedicated to ensuring we can get a job done if needed, they are secretive, but once I know where we are I can do the rest,” Hades replied though his eyes didn’t leave Jade now.

Jade nodded to Ascondia’s words, though, challenging herself in taking a step forward and nearly crumbled. But then another and another until her steps were steadier. Finally she glanced to Hades and extended her hand for his. “Let’s get this started.”

He slid his hand into hers with a smile and nodded, “Alright let’s rock and roll,” He smiled as they made their way from the alleyway. The street was insanely busy as people went about their business, staring at phones or other such devices. Hades actually looked lost for once “I do prefer our way of life” he sighed softly.

“The street was chaotic, but the roads are what caught Hades’ attention, vehicles that came in all manner of variety as stared lost for some time, finally Ascondia shook her head and chuckled “Come on this way, and don’t go getting ideas, it was the dark ages when they took you, this is the future and their world, though they have updated since I left, seems cell phones have improved a whole lot,”

Hades nodded drawing Jade closer to him as they proceeded to follow Ascondia.

Jade stared her, completely stunned by the sights, sounds and smells. Her hand in his tightened, as a few people bumped into her without apology. Though, moved closer to him with confusion in her eyes. “Cell phones? Are those three brick looking things three people are holding?”

“Yup magical talking boxes” Ascondia chuckled softly, she paused by a window before looking within “Seems we’re in my home town, wonder why that crazy bitch chose here, makes it easier though,” They made way a little further along before she pulled something from her pocket, a passport she waved it at Hades the pointed to the bank “I’m gonna go in there, grab some stuff from my safety box that I left before I came back to the Everlands, so stay here OK”

Hades stared at her blankly but drew to him now “Be quick,” He snapped softly.

Jade was busy looking around at this concrete forest with moving vehicles, but then when Ascondia spoke and walked away, her eyes rested on Hades. “I guess besides waiting in her, this gives me a chance…My beloved…she revealed something to me and I want your opinion on it.” She paused ensuring that she had his attention, though looked down. “I guess I’m transparent enough…she told me that here we are human. This would be a place I could conceive. Offering protection when we travel through the portal back home. To let the realm catch up…I’m not sure. This is her way to right the wrong that she had done to me…”

“We’re not human, but everything that makes us, ourselves, it’s just deeply supressed, though if there was anything between you and I there that was preventing us having a child, she is correct it wouldn’t be present here,” Hades smiled softly as his hands rested on her shoulder “We could get pregnant and when we return the realm will rebalance itself, though it would be a little uncomfortable for a short while. Her information would be correct which is good news for us?”

Jade looked to him in silence, then thrust her arms to wrap around his neck in a tight embrace. “I can finally bare your child, Hades. I won’t be a disappointment.” She whispered, kissing his neck and then cheek and finally his lips. “You and Ascondia say it will be uncomfortable for a while…what do you mean?”

“It will be as the realm adjusts, when we get back the realm, will need to take our heritage and transfer that to our child, no harm to baby but you will feel like your head is being split wide open,” Hades kissed her gently as his hands rested against her “It sucks but someone has to bear the burden, something I remember all too well as the realm made me what I am, then Ceremon turned me into an Elcarus and that sucked even worse,”

He smiled softly “You will have the worst headache, and well effects unique to your kitsune that I couldn’t guess,” He smiled softly “This is the cost to bend the rules,”

She swallowed hard to the reveal from Hades, but he saw a spark of determination. A woman willing to do anything for another, smiling to him. “Then we will do it. I was rather enjoying the practicing.” She chuckled and curled her fingers at the nape of his neck to bring his lips down against hers in the deepest and most passionate kiss yet, as their fate was sealed and the prospect even more grand.

He returned the kiss with a moan caught out with the sheer passion that flowed from her now, “I like the practice too,” He chuckled softly, a woman was now staring at them as she saw the image before her. Hades looked to the woman in thought “Can I help you?”

“She is so young, why would you not chase someone your own age,” The woman snarled angrily as Hades for the first time was hating the fact he was unarmed.

“Mind your business lady, she’s probably just as old as him, and so much better looking,” Ascondia sighed as she exited the bank and made her way to them, the woman looked at her before she stormed off “Urgh always having to meddle, we should limit those we interact with, I have money, with interest it turns out so we can get hotel rooms,”

Jade furrowed her brow to the woman, though chuckled to Ascondia’s interruption, as the three of them took leave of the disgusted female. She nodded to Ascondia, while unwrapping herself from Hades but slipped a slender hand into his. “This is your home. Lead the way.”

They made through the city as Ascondia led, others would look as they passed by, and a few younger boys whistling to the two females would raise Hades’ ire for a moment before he returned his attention to Jade.

They finally arrived at the hotel as Ascondia slid up to the desk with a smile “Hey there, my friend over there screwed up and booked us at the wrong hotel for the convention this weekend, and I’d rather not have to walk ten blocks when I can walk three,” She threw Hades a wink then returned her attention to the clerk.

“I see miss, we have only one room left a double on the 4th floor but with the couch and the convention in town we can bend the rule to allow three in a single room,” She replied, Ascondia nodded and handed her payment as she received the key card, Ascondia smiled and then turned back to them, making their way to the elevator, as they stepped in she turned to face Hades and Jade “I will make myself scarce tonight, I have a friend who’s dad used to work in the police department, hopefully they may have a lead on Kara, I’m sure she’s gotten their attention by now,”

Jade blushed to the whistle by the boys, curling closer to Hades. When in the hotel it didn’t take a genius to catch in to her disappointment at sharing a room, but didn’t say much. A smile formed in her lips to Ascondia’s words with a nod, kissing Hades neck with a playful nip.

As they stepped out of the elevator Ascondia handed Hades the keycard, taking Jades hand from him for a moment before taking her aside leaning in to whisper “I’m glad you’re taking my information, I see that sparkle and I will make myself scarce for a little while, tell Hades not to worry I’ll be in touch,” She placed a cell phone in Jades hand then moved away and back into the elevator.

They made their way along the hall before he slid the card through the lock and the door opened “The room beyond was a luxurious, the view out over the city, Hades rounded on her almost immediately kissing her deeply for a moment before stepping back “I love you, more with every day that passes,”

She looked down curiously to the strange block that was very light in her hand then to Ascondia with a smile and nod. Though returned to slip her hand in Hades, walking down the hall with him to the room. Jade watched as he slipped the key in the slot, hearing a click with a green light flashing.

Jade inhaled deeply at the sight of the room with the city landscape beyond, though that moment was stolen away when his lips crashed against hers. Curling her arms around his shoulders to deepen the kiss just as he parted, a blush lifted to her cheeks. Her foot kicked the door closed while leaping up to curl her legs at his waist, pressing her lips against his eagerly.

Hades was lost as she leapt into his arms, his arms sliding around her pulling her tight into him as he returned the kiss deep and hungry, all the while he carried her through the room to the bed before turning to sit keeping her in his lap, his hands now moving to remove the kimono between him and her body.

After the obi was removed, it was easy for Hades to peel back the fabric from her shoulder, every inch of skin slowly being revealed to him. The delicate material slipped from her shoulders, down her arms to cause the fabric to part only revealing the curves of her hidden bosom. The more the fabric slid down, the more was in display, until the kimono was dropped on the floor. Now, Jade wore nothing but the sea gifted collar, it was stunning in the light offered by the city scape.

Her hands lowered now to curl at his top, learning a slight to remove the fabric, as her hands marvelled over sculpt of his torso, as it had grown more muscular with the labour of their home. She learned down and praised his neck and chest with her lips.

He watched her intently as she revealed him to her, the leaner form of his body, as he smiled softly watching her “This is our best chance so I say we take full advantage of each other,”

He kissed her deeply, then down her jaw and neck over the collar, before reaching her shoulders, his hands sliding down over her spine and lower back, and then over her thighs.

She lifted her head to relish in the kiss, a hand lifted to rest upon his shoulders, the moment his tool plunged within her fingers bit into his shoulders. Jade lifted her hips with legs curling around his to tangle arms secure the position. She prayed from the kiss now pressing her cheek against his, while revealing to him in a subtle growl. “I want your child, my beloved. Don’t hold back.” That’s when he saw the yellow in her eyes and the fangs. Even though they were more human in this realm, together the suppressed essence of their being came to the surface.

There was a flash beneath those emerald eyes just for a moment as his demonic half flickered within, then it was gone as his hands forced her legs to his shoulders now once more driving down into her with a hungry force, his need to send his essence as deep in her as he could, while giving her just as much pleasure.

No sooner had the Kitsune surfaces did it return to the depths, yellow eyes returned to brown and canines sheathed. This new position offered a depth that feed his inner demon and desires, Jade was incredibly flexible while he bent her almost in half. A hand slithered between them, stimulating her pearl in such a way that her folds clamped upon him and began to bloom with the throbbing. She learned up to bite his shoulder, growling, until the fateful moment her body erupted in ecstasy and Jade squirted again and again. This was the point Hades knew she was beyond the point of no return, kneading her own bosom to pinch and pluck her buds.

He growled hungrily as the tightness of her pushed his body to the brink, his rhythm slowed as each thrust was now forceful driving as deep into her and driving her down into the bed, with each time he tore into her waiting gateway.

His body tensed forcing him deep as a growl ripped from his throat, his hands clamped against her buttocks his nails biting into the tender flesh, he held himself as deep in her as he could ensuring she was bent allowing him the depth to deliver him to her waiting womb within.

As he continued to pound her mercilessly and Jade’s own actions, a trickle of drool escaped her mouth with her eyes rolling into the back of her skull with the immense pleasure. It was not long lived, while his fleshy tube expanded, as it angrily thrashed against her pearly gates before exploding to release the wave of seed within her. She cried out as the heat poured into her womanly cradle, curling her hands at the back of his thighs, nails biting into the flesh. In the aftermath, she was panting with her flesh dusted in sweat and an attractive pink flush.

He collapsed beside her panting just as quickly, his hand already returning to continue teasing that tender pearl, far from done with her in that moment as he rolled to her kissing her deeply, and with a renewed hunger his fingers slipping into her coating them in a mix of their juices before returning to working her pearl.

Jade cried out in surprise and pleasure, as it appeared Hades wasn’t finished just yet. The instant his fingers focused upon her succulent pearl, her flower throbbed and body quivered. Unable to control herself, Jade reached down with her hand to grasp at his in order to pull way. But the slickness of her arousal showed otherwise, it seemed she still was over simulated.

He kissed her deeply and hungrily before nipping her lip gently “I love you” he breathed softly his hand now tucking stray strands behind her ear.

She cried out again as that hand remained with a steady purpose, Jade fell into the kiss. But to the draw back from the kiss, Jade lifted her brown eyes to his, glossy from passion and her release. She was a vision; dark hair spread beneath her like a dark halo, skin glistening with every rise and fall of her chest, even the subtle glowing flush from her skin. That collar, born from the sea and now the only possession upon her exposed form.

He smiled softly as he curled into her tightly, his arm pulling her close. Breathing in her scent, lost in the ecstasy of their encounter.

[Everything Changes] An Arrow to Save Them All

“There is a change in the air, and finally, The Ever Present are free of our leaders’ tyranny, free to be ourselves. As we should have been, when Aerian left leadership it should have fallen to me, Harley held us to ransom and perverted our cause. She made us hunted, hated, feared. Now we are free of her, or we will be soon enough,” Zia was stood before the throne as the members of The Ever Present now stood in the room before her.

“Oh, this I have to hear,” Aerian chuckled keeping the four of them hidden just inside the passageway.

“We will put Harley, Aerian and her two toys to the knife at dawn, the last of the old blood and send a message to the realm all in one, Aerian is Elcarus can you imagine the strike in the heart of the realm that will be?” Zia crowed now.

Aerian sighed and looked to Virra “Can I have some fun with her before you end her,”

Domi folded his arms over his chest watching the scene, while Virra was lightly tapping her strapped throwing knives. “Toys? Pfft.” Domi commented.

To Aerian’s words, Virra cast her gaze to her. “Be quick.” was all she said.

Aerian stepped out “That would be really clever of your new leader,” It was instant but the room fell silent at Aerians appearance “Um before you do anything. You might want to listen to me, you see she’s right, doesn’t happen often but she is right, killing me would sting my family, but you’re assuming they’d just fall apart. They wouldn’t,”

“They would fear us, they wouldn’t dare strike back,” Zia snapped

“You stabbed my Uncle Hades and he damn near killed you without a second thought, they wouldn’t fear you, Zia, my dad would unleash the entire force of Dentarius against you, a hundred thousand pissed off Dentarians hunting you down, and then the entire force of Elvera at their heels, because my mother is Queen Ascondia herself, so there’s your next revelation, the combined force of the most powerful armies of The Everlands hunting down every last member of The Ever Present, that is your fate,”

The room was quiet now as they looked to Zia, before looking back to Aerian, she had their attention now.

“But you see Zia it doesn’t matter, because you pissed off the one person you absolutely shouldn’t have, even Harley had the good sense not to wind her up, you my traitorous little bitch have a date with my fiancée, Virra baby, she’s all yours,” Aerian stepped aside from the passageway now.

Virra stepped forward and grinned darkly, toying casually with a throwing knife, but in that next moment, her wrist flicked and sent the weapon flying through the air to Zai’s hand that was going for her weapon. Significantly plunging clean through to hilt, causing damage and blood to splatter and drip down her fingers. She didn’t stop now, flicking another wrist to send two more knives flying, one to her thigh and the other to balance out her fall forward to kneel. Her heels clicked in the silence of the hall as she walked to her, grabbing her hair and forcing her to look at Aerian with her cheek beside Zia and blade against her throat. “Kneel before, Aerian Elcarus. She founded the Ever Present, this is rightfully hers. You, blonde bitch, snivel, and cry. Plead for forgiveness, perhaps, you will get a chance to rest in peace yet.”

Zia looked to Virra the pain ripping at her as she coughed more blood, “I did what I had to, just like you are now,” she spluttered, words coming through gurgles and coughs “I won’t bow to an Elcarus, kill them all,” she squealed under the pain.

Aerian had her knives drawn the moment Zia uttered those words, just as Harley stepped beside her with her own weapons drawn “If you wish to wind up the same as Zia, feel free to challenge us, but if it’s my last act as your leader you will not harm Aerian, she is right my vision was clouded, I pushed you on a path that will get us killed,” Harley dropped her weapon and stepped to kneel before Aerian, a hushed whispered made its way through the room before the others followed suit,”

“Fucking traitors all of you, Zia managed to draw a knife and drive into Virras thigh as she screamed out in anger.

Just as the knife sunk into Virra’s thigh, an arrow screamed through the room and plunged directly centred in her chest. It was a deadly mark that didn’t miss the blonde’s dark heart, as Domi lowered his bow. Quickly moving from beside Aerian and Harley to rush to Virra’s side, cradling her before her leg gave out, and blood pooling from the wound at her thigh.

The arrow barely missed Aerian as she took off the moment she saw Zias hand move, she was at Virras side just as quick, her hands already ripping a strip of fabric from her tunic “I’m here, baby, I’m here,” as Domi reached her side she looked to him “She’ll be OK right? Domi help her!” Aerian could feel the blind panic ripping at her.

The chaos caused by Zias attack and death created a gap as two of the crowd drew their weapons heading for the three, as they raised their weapons blood erupted from them, a spray that coated Virra, Domi and Aerian before the two collapsed to the ground, Harley stood above them. Aerian felt the anger rise within her as she turned to Domi “Take care of her,”

She stood now turning to face those that remained, faces etched somewhere between panic and confusion “I’m done, that’s my girl lying on the ground because Zia chose to betray us, you’ve been afraid to stand up and do what you want to do because of Harley, and now as we deliver your freedom you chose to attack us, blind side us? Those will be the last to die or they will be first, make no mistake the three of us are in control now, The Ever Present will return to how it was before I left, we are the balance between those that take and those that are left in the dirt, if you don’t like walk away, but try to attack us again and you will all die here and today,” Aerians words were ice cold, and as sharp as the weapons at her sides in their meaning now, she rolled her shoulders and dropped back beside Virra.

Domi inspected the wound now as Aerian spoke with a nod. But Virra watched silently to Aerian’s words, splattered with blood from the steak that happened only moments ago. But smacked Domi’s hand away and began to stand with his help placing favour on her uninjured leg, to prove that she wasn’t going to be kept down. “Listen and listen good…as the daughter of Bryant and blood thick with you all. I give much more than my blade to Aerian’s cause. Unlike before, this will be a combined effort, things will change. Your purpose will be with blade and heart.”

“You heard her,” Aerian snapped as the rest lay their blades before them now “I didn’t want to kill Zia, ask Virra or Domi I’ve spent the whole damn trip defending her, I didn’t kill Harley even though I probably should have,” She looked to the other two and sighed softly “I don’t take betrayal well, but my blood family instilled in me long ago that family is everything, The Ever Present was first and always a family, a very screwed up one but family, those values got lost and now together, we need to find them again,”

Virra maintained her stance, subtly while Domi was at her side in support. “Anyone object now, draw your blades. We are sick of backstabbing assholes. Either you are with us or against us. No in between. We together will right the crooked path and be in a set line to the old values but with a new view.” Aerian saw Virra shake a slight, though, Domi supported her. “While Zia was a backstabbing bitch, she was family none-the-less and shall be given a burial, don’t you agree Aerian?”

Aerian looked up and nodded as she smiled softly before wrapping her arm around Virra “But first we get you patched up,”

“What about me Aerian?” Harley stated now standing to make her way beside them, Aerian turned her eyes staring at Harley for a moment.

“Clear the pit, as Virra said they’re family, every last one of them, they don’t deserve to be left like that,” There was a dark edge to her voice now as Harley merely nodded and made her way to complete her orders.

“Now come on let’s get you patched up,” Aerian smiled “Pretty sure Domi is dying to get you off that leg and laid down,” She guided them from the room and to what was now their chambers.

Virra leaned to kiss Aerian’s neck, as she grinned. “Nah, he’s just ready to stick that needle in me.” She glanced to Harley as the woman left.

Domi chuckled now while tickling Virra’s side. “That’s not all I want to do with my needle. But I’m hurt…it’s not THAT thin.” He winked.

“Leave it to you too be a pervert.” Virra rolled her eyes.

Once they were in their new chambers, Virra sat down and hissed as the straps of her throwing knives were removed and leathers peeled back. She smacked Domi on the back of the head. “Slowly!” Virra growled.

Domi glared at her but then laughed, inspecting the wound. “It’s pretty deep, Virra…” He said with concern.

“Of course it is, that bitch slammed a dagger in my leg!” She spat.

He gave Aerian instructions to gather clean water and something for her to bite, plus bandages.

Aerian stared at the wound before Domis words finally brought her back to reality, she nodded to his instructions and within moments was gone from the room. She was almost absent as she wandered toward the kitchens to retrieve the desired items, a few more minutes and she was back to their chambers.

“I have it all, here…” She stated softly placing the bowl and bandages on the table beside Domi before handing him the piece of rubber that would serve as something to bite upon “I, I should thank you, had you not put an arrow through Zia, I can’t entirely say what I was planning to do, I saw the knife and I knew she had to die,” She placed her hand on her stomach and walked to the back of the room “My concern was only for Virra, nothing else mattered, I’m sorry,”

“Oh, no you…OW! Fuck!” She smacked Domi again. “Hold on, mister. Firefly, get your ass back over here.” Virra said, extending her hand to Aerian, proving no was not a response.

“Oh, my dark angel, I had to act before more shit hit the wind. If that was you, I’d do the same. Virra’s wounds might be deep, but it is being repaired. It’ll just take the time to heal.” Domi looked to Aerian with a smile. “It was stressful, I think both of you acted like the leaders you are meant to be. So I won’t hear a sob story, get your sexy ass over here.”

Aerian smirked as she made her way over, her eyes tired as she crawled beside Virra “It’s not over, you know that right? I don’t even know how Zia turned them to her side so quickly, though I suspect my ass may have been the deal breaker for them, so now they are led by an Elcarus, that isn’t going to sit well, not just with them but others in the realm,” She smiled softly “Including dear old mom, so we have to make this work, together, and we can’t remain here indefinitely cos I‘ll be damned if I give birth anywhere but Dentarius,”

Domi was focused on his meticulous stitching, as Virra held Aerian’s hand, biting down on the rubber a few times. But afterwards, Domi cleaned the wound ones last time, this was definitely going to leave a scar. Beginning to bind it. “My sweet angel…there is little that we can do right now, other than rest.”

Virra removed the rubber from her mouth to kiss Aerian and adjust to lay her head in her lap. It was clear that she was in pain, but tried to mask it. “Can Harley be trusted? Now, that is. While I agree, we cannot leave at this moment or for a while, I wish to have our children in Dentarius, but we cannot be ghosts to them after all this.”

“I said we were taking control and we are, everything that The Ever Present does from here on out is our choice, together, as for Harley I don’t know, but I would like to believe this has maybe shown her something, but we got burned with Zia so we will have to keep our eyes on everyone until they prove otherwise. Harley does know being on our side is far better than being against us, so maybe it will be enough,” Aerian replied softly

Virra looked up to Aerian, though remained silent, curling closer to her, but soon she heard the even breathing if her fiancé. Virra was sleep on Aerian’s lap.

Domi stood to wash his hands, then moved over to take a seat in the bed beside Aerian, gathering her hand gently in his. Carefully, lovingly he removed the glove to inspect her hand. “How does it feel?”

“Still hurts, you’ve ended up stitching us both back together today Domi, thank you,” She smiled softly as she leant back keeping Virra in her lap but finding her own comfort “Seem to be apologising a lot today, but I am thankful for all you do for us, and more, she means everything to me but I was a breath away from putting our child at risk, you saved them both, you know that right?” There was tense edge in her voice that betrayed the anger she held for herself in that moment.

Domi cleaned her own wound and stitching very well, then wrapped her hand in bandage. “You two will be the end of me. Someone had to keep the level head with all the hormones flying.” He chuckled and kissed the bandage over her wound. “I’m at fault for not acting sooner. Virra wouldn’t have been stabbed. In either case, I promised your Pops, I’d take care of you. I mean to do just that.” Domi caressed the sleeping Virra’s crown for a moment. “She will put up a fight these coming weeks. Virra has to heal, else I fear the damaged muscles may give her a permanent limp. I’ll need your help on that. You saw how she was with the stitching…”

Aerian rubbed her ear with a smirk a reminder of how close Domis arrow had been “Not sure I could have pulled of that shot, I’m glad you did, though an arrow in the back of the head may have given me more to complain about,” She grinned and laid her hand on Virras side before urging Domi to hers, “She will behave, I don’t think having a limp would sit well with her, if not I’ll chain her ass to the bed and make her behave herself”

Domi curled a hand in Aerian’s, pulling her close with an arm around her shoulders, resting his cheek on her fiery crown. “Now that…I’d like to see.” He chuckled.
