[Everything Changes] Karas Truths

The moment they exited the portal on the grounds of the cottage Ascondia and her guards closed in on Kara, Hades reached over the fence to draw a blade putting him between the guards, Kara and Jade.

“Hades what the hell are you doing?!” Barked Ascondia

“Jade didn’t call for help, nor is she harmed which makes me believe she has this under control, stand down or this gets very messy!” He replied calmly

Ascondia paced in frustration before she growled “Stand down!” The guards lowering their weapons backed up just a step. Hope was now stood off to the side as Hades looked across to Jade.

Jade held a forearm over her abdomen, as there was a hidden pain, but took Kara’s hand in hers. “She is an Elcarus. Look at her, she had the hair and eyes. I know who her father is. Before this was taken on by you Ascondia. This issue is more of the Elcarus family. I gave her my word she would not be harmed, don’t make me go back on my honour.” She gathered Hades’s hand. “We all go to Dentarius. It is time this issue is discussed and instead of drawing blades, resolved.”

Ascondia looked to Hades who just as confused as he shrugged quietly. Finally she looked at Hope then to her guards “We will leave her in your custody, I am required back in Elvera before my absence is noticed, when things are resolved ensure I am informed?” She spoke directly to Jade now once more placing her trust in the young woman “You are my eyes and ears on this, my trust in you complete”

Jade nodded to Ascondia, while giving Hades’s hand a squeeze, glancing to Kara but moving to guide her betrothed and now…niece into their home. Once within she leaned against the closed door with a deep sigh. “Have a seat at the kitchen table Kara. I will make tea, then the three of us will talk.”

Jades discomfort hadn’t gone unnoticed as he moved to her watching Kara sit before leaning to whisper “Everything alright my love? If the realm is having an effect then we can assume?” his words were soft and gentle against her ear.

She lifted the pot that was boiling, as Jade, calmly poured the water into the pot with the tea to seep. Jade looked to him, after his whisper. “I don’t know…let’s not jump to conclusions…just yet. I just feel off and ache that could be many reasons.” Jade mused to him sweetly in the passing, arranging the tray and seeing cups before everyone and offering their tea first followed by her own. Settling down on his lap watching Kara. “It was not my place to reveal whom your father was…it is yours, but Hades has a right to know.”

Kara stared at Hades who had not moved from Jades side, but she squared herself all the same “Haunted is my father, but he was married to Hel-ena at the time, it was a mistake and during the low point after you had all left Dentarius, before he became the leader everyone knew and loved, but to me he was always just dad, no hero, no long legacy of the realms saviours, it took me months before I found out about his death,”

Hades rested his chin on Jades head yet said nothing, his arms wrapped around her from behind, there was no malice in his presence now.

“I don’t care about being a hero, or what’s expected of our blood line, I just want to stop running,”

“Then maybe you should have brought this to us sooner?”

“I tried to tell you, and you broke my arm then tried to have the queen cut off my head, makes a girl a little afraid,” Kara replied softly “And incase you didn’t figure it out, it wasn’t me on the blocks, and the magic that held the glamour was my fathers, he kept me hidden for a while afterward, but the realm is a little out of balance right now and his magic slipped, and Elveran guard spotted me and I did the only thing I knew I ran,”

“Would explain why you jumped across realms, aside from Ascondia, Haunted was on of the very few able to do it, though it taxes our magic really bad, hence no portal hopping for Kane or I,”

“You’re not nearly as they make out you know, you’re actually oddly calm which is the very opposite of what the stories say about you,” Kara tried to smile but chose instead to return her gaze to the table “It’s a lot I know, and if prison is my future then I’ll accept that, but your wife is right hiding the truth is only causing me problems, so there you have it,”

“I keep hearing that lately, might have to go slaughter a village to ensure people don’t think I’m going soft,” Hades chuckled in reply “No in truth my priorities have changed of late, the realm adapts and your being born only means you were meant to be here, I’m sure given time the reason will show itself, right now we should prepare to head to Dentarius, seems we need to have a conversation with my brother, dead and alive,”

“As I told you, Kara. A lot has changed.” She smiled gently to her. “It doesn’t mean that he had lost his ferocity. Just…better managed.” Jade leaned down to kiss his neck finishing her tea. “Yes, it is time we return to Dentarius for a visit, I’d like to see Xander and Terra, plus Stacy.”

“I will send for a carriage, avoid the walk,” He smiled softly kissing her once more before disappearing back out of the door.

“So how it is our dear Queen seems to like you? She even seems tamer than I remember her to be” Kara stated as the door closed behind Hades.

“Ascondia? Well, she’s doing better, I suppose. In the start, acted like a spoiled brat. But she’s grown some, matured and listens to reason from others. Maybe with Hope now, she’ll be happy. There is no council, it is in the world to be formed with inclusion of areas of the realm.” She began to gather the empty tea cups. “Things are changing. For the good. I would like you to be there when it does. Regardless of wanting responsibility. You are an Elcarus by blood, family.”

“I am by blood, one could argue not by choice,” Kara replied softly “I’m not cut out to be a hero, I prefer to just live, I will do what is asked of me so long as I am able. I won’t make promises I cannot keep,”

“I get it. I really do. I’m not a hero, but engaged to Hades. Last of my kind, put a damper on things. That is what I am fighting for, Kara. Life is precious. It is never by choice in our parents. There is a reason that you were conceived with Elcarus blood. The realm doesn’t make those mistakes.”

“So my father keeps telling me,” Kara sighed softly. Hades opened the door and motioned for them to follow the carriage now outside their gate, Kara stood and quietly followed to him before climbing within the carriage, as Hades took Jades hand and locked the door before leading her in as well.

Jade inhaled with a nod, leaning her cheek against Hades shoulder after they situated themselves in the carriage. Very shortly after, she had fallen to sleep.

[Everything Changes] The Diplomacy of Truth

It was a short lived nap as Ascondia shot from the bedroom with a clatter of the door.

“Hades, Jade wake up, we know where she is,”

Hades stirred rolling to wrap his arm around Jade ensuring they didn’t fall from the couch, his eyes slowly focusing on Ascondia, Hope could be heard in the background talking, Hades guessed she was talking on the cell phone confirming details.

“She’s holed up in a motel not that far on the outskirts of town, but the feds are en route and we need to get there first, if she goes into federal custody who knows what will happen,”

Jade woke with a start, exchanging a glance to Hades. Their reason for being here was coming to a close, without thinking Jade stood. The sight of all the bruises upon her revealed to Ascondia. It was too late to hide beneath the sheet, moving quickly to her kimono by the kitchen table to dress.

Ascondia looked her over then chuckled as Hope wandered from the bedroom, her hand to her mouth to stifle the yelp of shock. Ascondia looked back to her with a frown.

“Oh and the bruise on my ass isn’t something?” Ascondia shook her head, before she looked to the fire then to Jade “Must have been a pain to be so quiet, surprised you didn’t hear our escapades, Hope can be a real squealer when you get her right,” There was a tease in her voice, as her eyes never left Jade in that moment.

Jade pulled in the fabric concealing the bruises on her body, fixing the omi in place them moved to gather Hades clothing. “No we heard everything. Oh, who said we were inside?” As she handed Hades his clothing.

“You got yours, we had some fun of our own, so” Hades slid from under the cover to retrieve his clothes, keeping his back to Ascondia as he dressed “So how long do we have?”

“FBI will be there in an hour or less, gives us a little less than that,” Hope replied as Hades pulled on his shirt and fastened his boots.

“I hate having to do this unarmed, because I dare bet Kara isn’t” He mused darkly

“The report says she has a sword, quite adept with it from what they say too, and enough knives to supply a small thief’s guild if such a thing weren’t fiction of course,” Hope shrugged, as she shrugged Hades smiled.

“Good then I can take a weapon, well then,” He straightened finishing fastened the heavy belt of his pants.

Jade sighed softly. “I could have brought my katanas…Too late now, I have my skills. We have to get her when she least expects it. Do you think she is aware of me? I could be the distraction…don’t you dare say no, Hades. But we better leave, we can discuss it on the way.”

“Three people armed to the teeth would be hard to explain,” Hope stated softly “Not to mention I dread the encounter with Luke had he been armed, and losing limbs is even harder to explain, you needed to blend in it was the right choice,”

Jade nodded moving to gather Hades hand in hers, looking between him and Ascondia. Beginning to walk to the car. “Neither of you answered my question. Does she know of my relationship to Hades?”

“She bolted the moment she got the chance and has been isolated for some time, it is extremely unlikely she is aware of your relationship. You may indeed be our distraction,” Ascondia shrugged softly as she plucked a knife from the drawer before tucking it in her boot with a smile “It isn’t my sword but it’ll do in a pinch,”

“She has a few to spare, I’ll arm myself that way,” Hades added softly “But putting Jade in her line of sight,”

“Oh shut up Hades, she just went toe to toe with your evil side and came out just fine, in every sense of the word, if she can take you on in that frame she won’t struggle with your halfwit of a sister, stop treating like a fragile doll I’m sure you don’t fuck her like one,” There was an edge to Ascondias words a reminder she wouldn’t sit for Hades’ macho attempts and a reminder she was just as smart as he was. She knew Jade could handle things and they wouldn’t be far away for anything to go too wrong “We get there, we assess then we decide on the next course, easy as that,”

Hope pulled a gun from a safe hidden in the wall, checking the clip and smiling softly “I am a cop,” there was an innocence to her words.

Jade gave Hades hand a squeeze, tipping up to kiss him gently. “You are always surprised to learn new things about me, my beloved. I do not need a weapon for this.” She now stood by the car, waiting to get in.

They were in the car and on their way fairly soon afterwards, Hope drove, her eyes focused on the road, as she kept a glance to the panel on the dash, a combination of Sat Nav and the Police System that gave her up to date information.

Hades and Jade had opted for the back of the car, namely so Hades could remain close to Jade, Ascondia in the front as she was now sorting her hair, “Once we arrive let Hope take the lead, we have better odds if we let her lead, then Jade, you and I get to clean up this whole thing,”

“You’re assuming we’ll need to,” Hades replied in reference to Jades’ earlier words “Our best hope to do this quietly is to see if Jade can convince her to come quietly, and I am in no mood to get myself shot again, so the less mess the better,”

Jade leaned against Hades shoulder in the back seat, agreeing with him. “He’s right. Would she not know me the plan for me to go in would be best. I’d say give it  ten minutes. That should give me time.”

As they pulled to the now isolated motel, there was an eerie quiet, a police car further down the road had waved Hope through, as she pulled the car up she looked back and pointed to the room “Room 109, building has been cleared quietly but apparently she’s been cagey all day, if she’s one of you she may have an inkling as to what’s going on,”

“Take your time, she will likely know you’re from our group the moment you get close, but she will be unaware of your intent unless you tell her, use everything to your advantage and if you need us, just scream,” Ascondia smiled as she now opened the door, “Hades and I will be close by, and if needs be a distraction when the federal authorities arrive, we have about fifteen minutes,”

Jade nodded to Ascondia, inhaling deeply, giving Hades hand a squeeze and a kiss. “I’ll be fine…trust me.” She then left the squad car to make her way to the door if the room indicated.

As she knocked there was a noise within, before the door cracked open just a slither, a dark haired female peering through, slowly she eyed Jade before looking beyond to see if there were any others “You’re the bounty hunter? Come to cut my throat? Drag me back to an Elveran Prison? Or otherwise make my life miserable?” There was panic in her voice, and yet a strange air of confidence, her eyes held that unmistaken emerald that was present in all Elcarus’

“May I come in, please?” Jade offered her a smile. “I have no weapons, though, we do not have much time. The group called the FEDs are on the way.”

She stepped back opening the door, it was as Jade stepped through she would see the dagger behind the door “Jeez you beat up a couple of low lives and they want to put you in prison, should have stayed where I was, except the beatings and mistreatment sucked, still with a little back up I’m sure I’ll be fine, unless as I said you’re here to take me back?”

Jade caught the glint of the dagger, recognizing the threat. Now in the room and looked around, then to her placing a little distance between her and the woman. “I never said I was here to take you back. My intention is to warn you of the FEDs with our limited time. The issue stands that you have much explaining to do to the Elcarus family. They never knew if your existence and from what I understood you had your head separated from your shoulders. Instead of running and fighting, you know your wrongs and the only way to make right is to face them. I will do what I can to keep your head intact and your life just that. But you need to work with me.”

“Mmm I did lose my head, well some poor girl did, my father allowed the magic to stay long enough for them to be fooled, and I hid in the caverns for some time, at least until that damned war forced me to flee, I was hidden and I was safe, now I’m back to being hunted like an animal, you could of course let me go? Just as a matter curiosity who did they send after me? Kane? Or his daughter perhaps?” There was a calm in Karas voice, her hair covered most of her face, but she was relatively young, not much older than perhaps Aerian herself.

“I figured you had some poor girl beheaded instead. But right now, that’s neither here nor there. You are being hunted here, with all the technology…I’m even amazed at such. You would be caught, either way. I don’t know what they do in this realm but learning you are from another place…wouldn’t be good for you.” Jade settled in the bed watching her, shaking her head. “Kane has a family to tend to. As well as Aerian. The last war…was something. You are an Elcarus. I’m curious how is it you were not known? Come with me peacefully, please. I will do what I can to protect you from death. But you have to try, the Eclarus’ and Ascondia want answers…”

“So if not Kane or his daughter that leaves Hades,” A smiled curled her lip darkly “Ah that makes sense being the one responsible for me not being dead and all, but how is it you come to be able to guarantee I’m not separated from my head this time? I’m sure Hades is very upset I survived the last encounter with the axe man,” She crossed the room and placed herself on the bed beside Jade, she watched her a moment before taking her hand placing it over her breast, the beat beneath strong “They labour under misconception, I am not sister to Kane or Hades, nor am I am some product of Ceremon or that lunatic Hareavor, I am Elcarus by blood, but forced to hide my, heritage isn’t exactly clean, my mother was,” She paused as she sighed softly watching the clock for a moment “My mother was a tradeswoman, paid for her company and unlucky the realm had alternates to her own ideas, I have survived this long because despite his death my father tries to watch over me to ease his guilty conscience,”

Jade hissed with a snap of her teeth in her direction to the pinch of her sore bosom. “That was very uncalled for. I may not be able to guarantee I can make it happen, but I will fight to do so. I’ll take the bait. You said your mother was a trades woman…of what? Secondly who IS your father if not psycho Ceremon? They consider you their sister.”

“My mother was a comfort girl, or more commonly a whore, she spent the night with my father and well,” Kara shrugged softly her attention drawn by the sirens now growing ever closer as she looked to Jade in thought “My father is Haunted Elcarus, I am not their sister but their niece, but anything that would alter the image has long been denied no one knows who I truly am, hence the sister theory,”

She stood now walking to the window “He took care of me, on the quiet for some time but after his death I became forgotten, and then well you pretty much know the rest. I don’t want to die nor do I want to live a life where the realm expects of me, yes I’m and Elcarus but my life has far from been theirs,”

She glanced to the door at sound of the sirens. “Then you are family. That gives an advantage. Those sirens are for you, much has happened and changed. Leave with me, no fighting and we all can talk once back to Everlands. Clear up this mess. But running, hiding and brandishing your sword will solve nothing.” Jade took her hand and stood, looking to Kara.

There were the screech of tires as Hades and Ascondia bolted through the door, quickly followed by Hope who proceeded to close the door before looking to them “Whatever you’re going to do now is the time to do it,”

“Working on it,” Ascondia replied as with a flash and a roar the portal sprung to life, Hope stared at in sheer shock before Ascondia took her hand with a smile “Doesn’t hurt, but we got to go,” With that she dragged the young woman into the portal and they were gone, Hades stared at Kara before kissing Jade.

“We have got to go,” He stated above the roar of the portal.

Jade glanced to the door as it burst open, then to Hades as he neared her. Once the portal opened the hairs stood up on her neck, returning the brief kiss from her betrothed. Nodding, securing her grip on Kara’s hand to pull and push her through the portal. Gathering Hades’s hand to rush through before it closed.

[Everything Changes] The Human and the Gifted

Hades had lost track of how long they had been in this metal contraption Ascondia referred to as a car, between the ache in his side and bruising of his ribs he was finding it hard to focus. The gun had gone off at point blank range against his lower abdomen the very thing he had been afraid of in this encounter. He was, however, grateful it had been him and not Jade.

The car turned off the road and onto a dirt road, the bump causing him growl this time the pain all too clear, as Ascondia looked round to them “Is he OK? Hades what the fuck happened out there,”

“I told you, he got lucky,” Hades bit back

“How is he even conscious right now, you know he got shot, right? I’ve seen guys try to hide gunshots a thousand times before and there is no way Luke missed,” There was a tone of fear in her voice in that moment as they finally came to a halt, the wooden cabin just ahead, it was run down and even from the outside looked dirty. Hades sighed softly, much like Jade he wished in that moment he was home.

Jade looked to him now, as Ascondia’s words were more than clear. She smacked Hadess hands away from the cradle of his abdomen. Eyes widening at the sight of his clothing saturated in blood, then up to him. “Damn, you…” Was all she said. “Hurry, we have to get him inside I can’t focus in this metal box on wheels.” Jade left her side of the car, reaching to the strange handle and pulling to open the door, leaning down to gather his arm in a gentle pull to drape over her shoulder. Then urged Ascondia to do the same, in order to lead him to the cabin. Jade was frightened she didn’t know how to mend a sound from such a strange weapon.

Hades was still on his feet though took the help, as instinct made him search the area on their way in, Hope turned off the engine and climbed out before joining them, it was dingy within though Hope lit one of the gasoline lamps to spread out some light “The generator is out so we have no power until that’s fixed,”

Hades nodded as he sank onto a couch with a groan, Ascondia looked at him before she looked at Jade, there was a part of her that knew this would be the outcome “He’ll be OK, you know I wouldn’t have put him at risk if I wasn’t sure of that,”

Hope was quickly pulling things out of a cupboard tossing bottles to Ascondia “Water from the well, I have a camping stove here we can boil it before she uses it, though it would just make more sense to take him to a hospital, Connie what is going on, how does someone survive a gunshot wound like that,”

“Happens all the time, but we can’t take him to a hospital, he isn’t exactly,” She breathed in thought looking to Hades as if help he simply shrugged and began working the blood soaked shirt out of his way.

“I’ll be fine, just have to stem the bleeding,” He smiled weakly

“Bullet has to come out first,” Ascondia replied blankly before gathering the bottle and exiting the cabin.

Jade sat beside him, assisting on pulling off his shirt, looking to Hope and requesting a bottle of liquor. When this was presented Jade washed her hands in the beverage and then offered Hades the bottle. Now with her hands cleaned, Jade began to inspect the skin and the depth of the wound with a fingertip, then up to him. “It’s…deep…” She muttered, accepting a towel from Hope. “I need something to grasp the item and pull out with a bowl, plus a needle and thick thread to stitch him…this isn’t going to be easy, beloved. It’s near an organ…next time, we do this together. Two eyes are better than one…Don’t you dare think I’m going to hear your lip, you are going to be a father and we ARE going to be married. Got that?” Her eyes began to glow that yellow but kept out of Hope’s view to not frighten her.

Hades smiled softly as he watched her before he spoke “Don’t waste time stitching, hot knife, I can’t afford to be thinking about stitches if we go after Kara,” He breathed softly

“How is he even conscious,” Hope stated softly before she handed Jade a towel and pair of long nose pliers “I’m sorry but we’re not exactly an ER here, gotta make do with what we have, I’m gonna go make sure Connie is OK,” she was quickly gone

“I think I’m making her nervous, though I suppose people don’t tend to walk around after they get shot here, seems demon side is still intact, just not as frontal as he would be at home, I’m Ok I promise I just needed her to get her act together so we could leave, though I have probably complicated our job more than we need,” Hades let his hand slide over hers gently “Just pull the bullet and then seal it few hours of rest and I’ll be good,”

Jade watched as Hope left the room, then looked up to Hades as his hand was set on her own. Those yellow eyes fixed on him while Jade sighed softly. “You are in no position to tell me what to do.” She growled to him, exposing her incisors, then snagged the bottle of liquor from him to wash off the pliers, giving him back the bottle. “No, you are right. Stitches aren’t needed, because, I will be healing you to speed up the process. This is going to hurt, take a swig or two.” Jade stated while looking at the wound and working the pliers within the open wound, working around for a few moments then wiggling the bullet free. Each movement she made was calculated and expert. Once the bullet was free, she pressed the towel hard upon the wound. “Keep the pressure, while I do my work,” Jade said softly.

She closed her eyes as Hades felt the hairs on the back of his neck stand on end, electricity was in the room. Any remaining from the lines to the electric were utilized. He then saw the form of the kitsune aura present itself around her, then her hand was placed against his skin. That is when he felt the stinging pain of his ribs, adjusting and being pulled together followed by the punch of pain to his abdomen. Then the burning itch extending from within him outwards, the very fibres of his flesh, veins and beginning to meld and heal. Just as it was about to reach the surface, there was a light bulb that blew.

Everything happened very slowly, as the aura of her kitsune faded and Jade fell back with her eyes closed. Hand holding the pliers released causing the bloody bullet to fall from the grasp and Jade had fainted. She was still barely breathing now, as the dark threads spilled around her head with the exposure of her sea gifted collar.

Hades was on the ground beside her the moment she fell back, his hand catching the back of her head, he scooped her up to lay her where he was, throwing his jacket beneath her to avoid laying her in his blood.

“Well this is going to be awkward to explain,” Ascondia chuckled as she now stood with Hope looking as if she’d seen a ghost “Glad you’re OK though, I know we can’t do this without you,”

“Getting shot sucks, you know that right?” Hades bit back with a smirk and she nodded before closing the door and pushing Hope to sit down opposite Hades.

“OK, so you’re not going to buy the she’s a nurse deal now, so listen carefully. All those myths and legends are usually based on some kind of fact, based on some story of some encounter from another time,” Ascondia sighed softly as she made her way to sit beside Jade resting her hand on her forehead “She’s warm, but hopefully in saving your ass, the worst is over now, let her rest, we’ll be safe here,”

“So what’s the plan now, moving through the city isn’t going to be easy while they are looking for me,” Hades replied

“They won’t be, Hope is going to make those reports vanish, and once we have Kara, if she chooses she can come with us, don’t start Hades,” Ascondia held her hand at him before he had a chance to argue “She can’t stay here Luke will end up killing her, and she’s already seen too much, also apparently I can’t use my memory magicks here anymore or just on her unsure which, so our options are limited. So here’s the deal you’re right he’s not normal he’s half human part demon, and a sprinkle of vampire and by vampire yes I mean the bite your neck and drink your blood kind, though not quite what you think, they’re as alive as you or I, and can be shot, and hurt and killed just easily, no silver or garlic,”

“You know how this sounds?” Hope stated as she stared now at the three opposite her and what about her blowing out bulbs?”

“She’s Kitsune, a fox of sorts with more power than even I’m sure of, she is harmless to you and is here with her husband to be, she had to tap into a lot of power to access that level of power here our natural powers get dulled in this realm,”

“Our …” Hope stated “As in? You aren’t?”

“Human?” Ascondia chuckled softly “God no, I’m an angel and I mean that in the literal sense, big feathered wings and all, though I lost my wings when I was young because I made some wrong choices, got kicked out of what you would deem as heaven and fell into my home The Everlands which over the centuries has had limited contact here hence the myths and legends, it’s a lot I know but Hope we’re on borrowed time chasing down a fugitive from our own realm and this girl is ten shades to wind of bat shit crazy. She kills without concern, and I suspect is hiding somewhere I need to know if there’s anything logged recently that doesn’t quite make sense, that’s why we came to you, I need to take her back and I need your help to do it,”

Jade remained still, while her breathing grew more and more steady, head laying on Hade’s lap with the dark halo of her hair pooling in and over his legs. She appeared content, while in her slumbering state beads of sweat glistened on her forehead now, displaying the fever that had taken her from absorbing the power in that moment. Stunning and beautiful, even in this moment. She had sped up the healing within Hades, even now, he continued to feel the throbbing remnants of her focused mend. Meaning in just an hour, he would be as good as new, no scar only the bullet on the floor.

Hades stayed with her head in his lap his hand working gently through her hair as he watched Hope try to process the information dropped on her by her former best friend.

“So twelve years ago, when everyone thought you’d been taken, and after your daughter disappeared? Where have you been?” Hope stated her mind racing over what she was being told now.

“I had to go home, and my daughter is fine, after the fire I had no choice but to send her home ahead of me she was becoming dangerous, it was the best place for her, please is there anything you can do to help us track Kara?” Ascondia replied softly. Hope sat now looking at Ascondia, the bruising on her face had subsided a little as she thought on her words.

While everyone was intent in conversation, Jade’s eyes had opened, silently watching everyone. As Hope paused to consider Ascondia’s words, Jade felt her stomach cramp, this broke her silence now, as a whimper escaped her lips and she curled over with her hands over her abdomen. But when Hades made the concerned move, she simply held a hand up to stop him. “Just a reflection of your pain…I’m fine now. Just really tired. Please, Hope…this Kara is far more dangerous than Luke. Unstable and doesn’t belong here. She will cause more damage than good. We need your help to find her.”

“I can’t exactly walk into the precinct looking like this, but I can make a few calls, at least throw them off with Luke, and see if anything weird … er has happened the last few days,” Hope replied her head already thudding inside her own skull.

“Just be quick Hope, we’re on borrowed time with her, lives are at risk,” Ascondia replied now.

Jade looked to Hope while considering her. “Ascondia, boil some water for tea. She needs something to relax.” She adjusted a slight offering her a small cloth bag. After Ascondia was busy, she looked up to Hades, lifting a hand to caress his cheek. “Better now?”

“Sore, but I’m OK,” Hades replied softly “But I’m not concerned about me, how are you?”

Ascondia took the bag and made her way to the small camping stove, a flicker of the flame as she ignited it before placing a pan upon it. Quietly she poured the water into the pan and watched as it began to heat up.

“I’ll be fine. Just took a little out of me. I’m not used to the electrical charge of this realm. Seems it is more powerful then I realized. As long as you are safe and feel better, I’m good.” Jade smiled up at him taking his hands in hers to kiss his palm.

He took her hand and brought it to his lips in a soft kiss “Good, and yea the electricity is a little temperamental here, in our realm we can control it, here it tends to do as it wants, no more tapping into it again unless you need to,”

Hope had disappeared into the back bedroom and could be heard pacing and talking in a lowered tone, Ascondia was keeping herself close just in case Hope decided they were worth more betraying than helping.

She adjusted to sit up, eyeing him. “No more doing stupid shit, without me. You know we are stronger together.” Though, Jade leaned against him while watching Ascondia silently with Hope pacing in the other room. “Is she trustworthy? That man may have scrambled her noggin,”

“With my life,” Ascondia replied with a soft smile “But it’s been 12 years, mostly she has been asking questions, doing her job. She hasn’t told on us yet, which means she is considering my offer, which also means it was real bad,”

Hades drew her closer “Wasn’t planning to get shot,”

Ascondia raised a brow in thought then returned her attention to the door,

“OK maybe I knew he might be armed, it’s why it had to me,”

Jade adjusted to slip into his lap, learning her cheek against his chest, leaving a hand within his. “It’s why it had to be you? What do you mean?” She sided watching Ascondia from her lean.

“I knew I could take the bullet, I also knew you’d keep my dumb ass alive,” He smiled kissing her neck gently, “I knew you’d have my back,”

“He knew you’d talk him out of it and we needed the distraction,” Ascondia watched them for a moment before moving away from the door as Hope re-emerged.

Jade lifted her head offering Hope a smile while waiting for the tea. “What is the update, Hope?”

“Girl kicked the ever living crap out of 4 guys who tried to have their way with her, two of them are badly beaten, one got his spine shattered and the other,” She grimaced darkly “Got his head crushed,”

Ascondia sighed darkly as she heard the news “And do they know where she is?” She was now looking out over the lake.

“Not yet, but a friend will call if they have anything else, I also told them I was taking a few days after Luke attacked me and some nice guy put him on his ass, it won’t hold but it buys time” Hope sighed as sank down on the couch opposite them now.

Jade listened silently, looking to Hope, but kissed Hades on the cheek. Rising slowly but steadily to kneel before Hope. “It’s hard. You are strong. You don’t need to be alone in this. Believe me, I….know. See I was forced to until the slave caravan was stopped. I was meant to serve…every twisted fantasy with any man. It was not a good life. It wasn’t a life, circumstances…may be different, between me and you. Even world. But I found my rock, you will find yours. You feel like…you can’t hide. Perhaps, hiding is…not the answer. A new life. A new home…Ascondia. A little help here.”

“She is trying to tell you we have your back, I had to leave to go home, I want to help you, but I can’t until we bring in Kara,” She smiled to Jade “He’s already taken a bullet to get you out, she let her fiancée get shot to help you,” Ascondia paused “OK let is probably bending the narrative, still we have already put time into saving you now I need your help,”

“I have no more, all we can do is wait unless you know how to track her,”  Hope replied softly

“Well…let’s think about it like this. Start from the first attack? Maybe there is some kind of money or tavern type trail? I don’t know how those things work here.” Jade said, returning to Hades side.

“That’s the problem, this was a single attack, four men and her, they didn’t come out of it so well, they are tracking her movements via cameras through the city but it’s taking time, Connie the world has changed a lot since you left. We will find her but how do you stop her? How do you stop someone who can take out 4 guys?” There was a panic in Hope now that she was having a hard time dealing with everything she had seen.

Ascondia smiled and pointed to Hades and Jade “That’s how, in our realm he is a bounty hunter, or he was before he became a family man, but we did just stop a war, tangle with dragons, giant spiders, Unicorns,” She smiled “Yup those are real too, I know how it sounds, but how do you think I was able to tell you all those stories at our slumber parties? I didn’t make most of them up, they were real events, I just need you to trust me, just like always,”

“I thought you were dead, but it’s a lot Connie even for me, but then I have nothing left here, my dad was killed a few years ago, mom died last year, I guess starting again wouldn’t be so bad, I’m going to see if I can get that generator running, it’s going to get cold out here tonight and we will need to stay put for tonight,” She smiled softly and made her way out of the house.

“She OK?” Hades repeated quietly as he watched Ascondia now beginning to prepare the tea.

“A lot to take in, humans aren’t built to be exposed to our world so fast, look at their history and what happens when they are, she just needs to deal and we keep our eyes on her, she will lead us to Kara that we can count on,” Ascondia replied

Jade rose still a little weak to help Hades with the tea, one it was done, she poured it into four mugs and offered them to Ascondia and Hope. “What is…these cameras?”

Ascondia chuckled softly pulling her cell phone for a moment before the loud click she spun the screen to show Jade the picture she had taken of Jade “Kinda like memories, but so people can watch or see,”

“You don’t have technology in your world?” Hope looked almost disturbed by Ascondias implication now.

“We lead a far simpler life, more like your medieval period only less violence and more magick,” Hades shrugged in reply “Which is about when I was born here,” he added with a shake of his head.

Jade blinked at the way Ascondia held the phone and a click was heard. Curious, she learned forward to pet at the picture, within faintly was an orange glare. “Hm. Not very good at it. I don’t know it seems like…weird. Do people have privacy? I mean if what you say is true about moving pictures like this one…”

“We have video too,” Ascondia smiled and again aimed the camera at Jade for a few minutes before showing her the replay “Privacy in this world, kinda hard, hell some even record things just for fun, some for memory, some for revenge, the human realm is strange that’s for sure,”

“Really no phones, no video, what do you people do for fun,” Hope replied now wondering what she was getting herself into.

“Usually each other in wild sex parties,” Ascondia smiled before shaking her head softly “Our lives are simpler, well most, I am Queen so little hard for me to relax, his brother has a whole realm to watch over and twins, my daughter is apparently a mercenary for hire so life is never dull I promise you that,”

“His brother? Isn’t he the father of your daughter? It’s a lot to process Connie, I think I’m going to go lay down, there’s nothing to do now but wait, unless you can somehow fix my face,” Hope sighed softly as she walked past Ascondia she placed her hand on her shoulder “You coming?”

Ascondia placed her hand over Hopes for a moment before she nodded “I just need a minute,”

Jade moved over to Hope. “I can try. Your face wounds are not as life threatening as Hades. That is…if you’d allow me to. It will sting initially as I speed the body’s natural healing process.” She offered the woman a small smile.

Hope looked confused but nodded now, as she halted in her approach toward the bedroom “OK, I guess,”

“Did you get that generator working Hope?” Ascondia asked as she moved toward her

“Y.. Yea it just needs fuel and I couldn’t see straight, just pour it in the tank and hit the green button, should fire straight up,” Hope replied

“I got it,” Hades replied and headed off out of the door, a few minutes later and the generator was heard coughing and spluttering before the last bulb flickered to life, the cabin now becoming a little brighter.

Jade glanced to Ascondia as Hades left. “We should do so in the bedroom, she will want to sleep.” She then moved past Hope into the bedroom, while settling in the edge of the bed and instructing her to lay down. Jade waited and then when Hope was in position, she moved to settle at her side. “I need to know if there is any more injury on you.”

Hades made his way back inside as Jade was taking Hope to the bedroom, he had already scouted to ensure there were no surprises “Any chance you can throw up something to alert us of unwelcome guests?” His words to Ascondia

“I can but it won’t be able to tell the difference between animal and person, power isn’t as accurate as I’d want and to be honest I’m saving as much of my energy as I can to deal with Kara and take us home,” Ascondia replied

“Give us ten metres in all direction, if it’s closer than that then there’s good chance it isn’t dinner,” Ascondia nodded and made her way to window as Hades now leant in the doorway of the bedroom watching Jade.

“No just bumps and bruises, he was always careful enough not to break bones, otherwise he’d have the rest of my squad to deal with, guess I should have told them sooner this is the first time he ever really made a mess where it could be seen, he..” She started

“Don’t say he was a good man, before or he wasn’t like this until, he is what he is, you can’t change that and one day it’s going to get you killed,” Hades stated darkly, Hope looked to Jade and fell silent.

Jade glanced over her shoulder to Hades, inhaling deeply. She shifted her hands to place very gently against Hope’s face. “Take a deep breath. Trust me.” She said to Hope, add her eyes began to grow yellow and those canines appeared. In the next moment, Hope felt the sting at her face as the damage done began to mend itself and lower the inflammation, until it returned normal upon Hope’s face. The swelling going down, while the woman’s beauty was revealed and Jade lowered her hands with a soft smile. “I’ve been where you are…get out now, while you have this support.”

“Thank you, so much” Hope threw her arms around Jade sobbing deeply. Hades smiled softly as he watched her for a moment, as Hope lay back down she was asleep within a few minutes. Ascondia slipped past Hades and crawled in bed beside her

“I’ll keep an eye on her, thank you Jade,”

Jade was taken by surprise by the embrace from Hope, even more so by the tears. She simply held the woman, before guiding her down to watch her. When Ascondia returned, Jade simply nodded while rising from the bed and leaving the room to settle on the couch.

Hades drew and blanket over her then settled to sit on the floor beside resting his head against her, it wasn’t long before he too was asleep.

[Ending A War] Trying for the Future

Hades caught the edge of the dummy with his blade a he flash of sparks erupting on contact, he turned as he kicked out catching the dummy with a thud before landing just behind. He spun his sword in his hand a wiped the sweat from his brow.

Since leaving the meeting Hades had trained to the point of exhaustion and yet was refusing to rest for a moment, he looked over his sword, the edge still shone with a darkness, as sharp as it had ever been, Hades was going to war and had every intention of coming out the other side alive and well.

Jade silently watched Hades as she sat upon a crate, the Katana fixed to her hip and hair flowing lose around her shoulders in a dark waterfall. The bruise still around her neck, while rising now and nearing him. The scent of cherry blossom enveloping him in her presence. “You’ve had enough. While it is good to ensure that you are in excellent condition, also it falls in line to not be exhausted.”

“I know Jade, truly I do, but there is so much anger and hatred behind this blade, being that clouded will serve us less to this war” He felt her hand take his sword, just for a moment his grip help before he nodded and released it to her.

“Of course being exhausted will serve us less” He eyed the bruise on her neck, just for a moment he felt a twinge of regret curl at his gut, quickly buried beneath the memory of how responsive and wet she was during the whole thing, “I love you, Jade, you know I’m doing this for you. All of this from me is because I love you, I will lay down my life if it means this realm is safer for you,” He drew her to him with a gentle grin “Not that I have any intention of winding up dead, I refuse to give Ceremon that satisfaction, even if I know he isn’t going to end up dead either,”

She pressed herself against him now, closing her eyes. “Just don’t do anything rash and I believe we will make it out with another win for the realm.” In her lean, he saw those delicate fingers trace the bruise lovingly at her neck. “We are not only doing this for each other but for the next generation of Elcarus to this realm.”

His hand ran over her neck slowly, as his eyes settled on her cleavage. She could hear the thud of his heart as beat beneath his chest, a heart which he often denied existed until she became his. He remained silent but continued to caress the bruise a reminder of her trust in him. And his for her, he had shown the darker side of him to her, the one he protected everyone else from. It was for her and her alone.

“When this war ends you will be bringing forth the next generation, our child” His hand now slid to rest on her stomach.

Her own touch hesitated as his hand lifted to caress her bruise, raising her head to offer him more flesh to touch. But it was as his hands ended on her abdomen, that her own was placed upon his, looking down. “I just…hope it’s possible…” She whispered, reserved. It was true that only Kitsune bred with the same of their kind. Such was not known outside the world if such mysterious creatures.

“I don’t know Jade, truthfully your kind are so rare, you’re almost a legend, but we are meant for each other which means if we have faith in us, what is meant to happen, will happen” He ran his hand over her stomach softly “I was once told the less you think about it, there more likely the odds the realms will deliver, though half kitsune half demon? Could be fun,” There was a softness to his voice, a part of him wanted to assure her that children were in their future but he couldn’t make that promise and he knew it. “I can tell you this for sure though, if you can then that’s incredible and I can’t wait, if you can’t then it doesn’t matter because I still have you, which is more than I could ever want for, no matter what happens with children, I love you and that will not change”

“Oh…I don’t know about legend…” She said with a blush, that shy girl coming forth once more. But Jade listened to his words, nothing was needed in response as her lips were upon his, to act upon his words.

Hades melted into the kiss, his arms wrapping around her waist and hoisting her to his hips before roaming her back gently. Reflected in the kiss was the self same fire she drew out in him, a deep and as passionate as they ever were.

“I think its time we went to bed to finish what we started earlier,” He growled against her ear, with that he slid his arms under her backside and made his way to their room with her still locked around his waist.

To the hoist she compensated by linking her ankles behind his back and wrapping her arms around his neck for ample support, a croon parted her lips to the fierce growl that echoed in her ears. He felt her heart racing as her bountiful bosom wrapped in the fabrics of her kimono thunder against his, but, leaned her cheek against his shoulder as he walked her just this way into the estate and their room.

As he kicked their door closed behind him he made his way to the dresser sitting her upon it as he was now between her legs, his hands once more returning to roaming her back beneath her kimono, his touch light barely touching the tender flesh yet letting his fingertips glide over every inch of flesh. His lips now working down over her neck and collar bone in soft kisses.

Jade eagerly clawed at his tunic while her lips parted in a rush of pleasure while his own touch invaded the fabrics of her kimono to present the silken surface beneath his greedy touch. She tilted her head to expose more of her neck and shoulder to him, that bruise lingering in the release of his previous darkness but such a side that he shared with her.

Hades kept his touch light, as he worked down over her shoulder, slowly he kissed her shoulder slowly. His hands slid down her back around her hips and slowly up along her stomach slowly. Before sliding back free of her clothing and began working her clothes from her body.

She sat on the dresser now, cradled with the fabric of her kimono pulled around her. Each touch of his hands and lips caused a soft croon from Jade. While the exotic beauty was revealed to him in the most intimate detail. Now she leaned forward to peel his clothing from him in a ritualistic manner.

Hades allowed her to undress him, offering no resistance to her revealing him to her, his hands now working back to run over her breasts before pinching her nipples a little. Before moving in to capture her lips in a deep longing kiss, his hands now returning to roaming her flesh slow and tenderly back to taking his time.

She yelped softly to his administration to her buds, this caused the delightful buttons to peak and tense. Though she fell into the kiss with a shudder, slowly within the tangle of the slick muscle the depth intensified. Her hands lifted to tangle within his hair in order to keep him close and locked into the kiss.

His hands now slid to her hips as he stepped forward his manhood pressed against her, his hands worked her hips for a moment to position her before he repositioned himself to enter her.

As the position was prime, she lifted her legs to curl around him with heels pushing him forward. A cry of sheer joy parted her lips as his tool plunged within her molten depths, holding still, and then clamping her lips upon his and scooting to near the edge of the dresser.

His motion was slow and measured, easing back from her before slowly sliding back into her each time holding within her for a moment before sliding back, his hands running over her back slow and deliberate now there was a deep passion in the way they were entangled with each other, Hades kept his rhythm slow and tender now, the very opposite of the last encounter they had with each other.

Her sounds were incredible within this encounter, it seemed not only her mind but body reacted with the lubrication her honey provided. When he would sunk within her, those legs tightened almost as though silently pleading for him to remain only to be denied. As his fingers caressed and kneaded at her tattooed back caused a gasp to part her lips, her own hands kneading into his upper shoulders.

Hades moaned her name gently as he plunged into her, his eyes one hers intently as he now withdrew this time holding back from her, as she was about to protest he slid into her this time slow and deliberate allowing her to feel every ridge along his hard tool as it entered her until he was deep within her.

Her eyes met his causing this time to be intense and passionate, indeed her mouth posted to protest but was silenced by the plunge forming into the deliverance of her praising sounds. Jade tiles her chin back this have him a view of the bruise on her neck. Her hands had lowered to knead against his lower back pleading for him to speed his movements.

He didn’t, Hades had control and this was just another way of tormenting her, a reminder she was his world and he would show her every piece of him. As he withdrew and slid into her slow again his breathing unsteady in that moment, a control of her also meant he had to control his own wants. The heat of her as surrounded him inch by inch was still as enticing as the first time and as hot as the last, he groaned hungrily but remained slow and controlled.

Jade cried out, while his show deliberate movements proved to be pure torture for her as she begged and pleaded to be taken harder and faster. While after her lips crushed against his, his control reinstated even with her begging, lips folding against his and slick muscle tangled. Her body went rigid, that is when he first felt the throbbing and all at once a powerful rush of juices flowed, again and again, washing him with her ambrosial nectar.

He held deep within her feeling her muscles as they clamped against him, he moaned softly before he withdrew from her a soft smile, he broke the kiss for a moment “I love you,” he stated gently.

Jade was groggy still but to this new position, her eyes widened and the sound of joy parted her lips. He felt her shudder and silken fold clamp upon him. The two were parted for just a moment and combined again, it was sheer rapture. One hand was placed upon his chest, as her hips began to roll, slowly at first.

He breathed deeply, the feeling of himself so deep within her was incredible to him, as her hips began to roll, his hands reached tracing over the flesh of her stomach and breasts slowly, his touch light and tender now.

Jade tilted her head back while the soft sounds she made and the way her flesh rolled beneath his touch voices the pleasures this have her. Her hips moved causing his tool to feel every ripple within, it was magnificent as the love to his life was so vulnerable to him. Even with the bruise around her neck as the mark to the darker side that she had accepted. While to others saw her as was fragile, he knew better. She was a strong and amazing woman, not very many could see past her layers.

But her rocking grew to a higher speed and urgency, taking forward to integrate a deep passionate kiss.

Hades growled in reply now his back arching forcing himself deeper within her as he shuddered, a groan and he released himself deep within her.

It was a tender but powerful moment as her warm lips caressed his when her folds clapped down upon him and he felt the essence drip down his thighs. The two had hit their climax at the same time, Jade collapse on his chest panting as his throbbing flesh remained in her living flower surrounding him.

His arms instantly slid around her waist holding her to him, his breathing broken and ragged from the passion a moment they shared, a reminder that their world was their own, his hands ran over her back then to her ass and back to resting against her lower back.

[The Turning Tide] The Past Will Always Confront The Present

Ascondia stirred slowly as her eyes adjusted the dimness of the cell, she looked to the door, before slowly making her way to her feet. Peering through the bars she could dimly make out the walls beyond. It didn’t help the thudding in her head, as she slammed her hand on the door.
“I am not in Elvera?” She muttered darkly
The door to the dungeon creaked open, moaning in agony of the cold moisture that clung to the weight of the hinges. A soft light was shown and very light, soft steps began to walk in the direction of the very cell of Ascondia. The warmth of cherry blossom’s wafted in the mildew aroma of the cell, a peek out would deliver the exotic sight of a female with her dark hair up in a beautiful bun and wrapped in silk of a kimono, holding a tray of snacks and a tea pot with a cup, with her arm carrying a garment. Though behind her was Hades, a basin in his arms and towel tossed over his shoulder.
“Good evening, Lady Ascondia…I…I am Jade. Your head must hurt from the events leading up to this, allow us to enter and I have prepared a tea for such a thing.”
Ascondia raised her eyes to look Jade over her, before looking to Hades behind.
“Where is my husband, and why are we not home?”
“Your husband?” Jade enquired, glancing to Hades in order for him to unlock the cell for them to enter.
Ascondia looked flustered as she glared at Hades, meanwhile, Hades slid the key into the lock to open the door.
“Step back, don’t make this awkward,” He stated firmly.
“Mmm not your usual line, so where is he?” Ascondia replied
“I actually have no clue what you are rambling about, now step back from the door,” Hades repeated firmly.
Ascondia muttered something before retreating to her bed and seating herself on her cot. She kept her eyes on Jade now as the two entered the small cell.
“So which house does the little Kitsune work for?” There was a self-satisfaction her words now.
Jade was momentarily surprised by Ascondia’s words at her true nature, though entered and moved to place down the tray. “Lady Ascondia, who is your husband?” Calmly she poured the tea into a cup while offering it to her.
Ascondia watched Jade before looking up to Hades and then back, “Very well seeing as we are all avoiding questions it seems, I am married to Commander of the Everlandian Army, Kane Elcarus, which Hades you know as he’s your brother”
Jade looked to Hades then, returning her gaze to Ascondia. “I was to be turned over to Hareover as a slave. But as you know slavery is forbidden in Dentarius. My caravan was turned over as a payment for free passage. This leaving me here.” Though she offered the cup to Ascondia. “You are no longer married to Kane, Lady. You were a prisoner to Ceremon and Z’ress…”
“Ceremon is dead, Kane killed him less than a month ago,” Ascondia stated flatly “And last I heard you were locked in some cave, with your brothers’ blood on your hands,”
“Yea, just how hard did Virra hit you?” Hades stated “A lot has changed, even you have changed, or apparently not, excuse us a moment,” Hades took Jade’s hand leading her from the cell and closing the door.
“Either this is one hell of an act or Z’ress has screwed her head up far worse than we could have predicted, we need to tread carefully darling she isn’t going to trust me for a second, she is correct in terms of what she is saying the last time she saw me I stabbed Kane and left him for dead, thus giving her and the High Council chance to wipe his mind and fill it full of all kinds of nonsense, I’m going to put four guards on the door and go speak with Kane, if she is telling the truth she is less of a threat, if she isn’t well two of the guards are mages that pack a punch, if that is OK with you?”
She set down the cup on the desk and left the cell with Hades. Listening to him silently but glanced to the cell door then too him. “I agree. Speak to Kane. I ask going to tend to her and get her cleaned up. I will do my best to keep conversation minimal. Though is it that obvious, that I am a kitsune?”
“In honesty it doesn’t surprise she knows, she like Aerian can pick up on certain others don’t, it is far from obvious but she is Queen of the Everlands so it stands to reason she would know” Hades smiled softly taking her hands gently “Let her talk, answer her questions unless it relates to our future plans, in which case avoid as best you can, I will be back as quickly as I can, but perhaps she will trust you and we will have a few more pieces of this puzzle by the time I am, and remember I love you,”
She offered him that beautiful smile and lifted his hands to press her lips against him. “I never forget. As I love you as well.” But after she returned to the cell. “Lady, allow me to cleanse you and I have taken liberty to bring clothing.”
“You can’t trust him you know, he will turn the first chance he gets,” Ascondia softly there was a strange sense of concern to her words, “You are such a pretty young thing, so be careful with him,”
Jade offered Ascondia a warm smile. “Thank you for your concern, Lady. Though the ring on my finger states his heart.” She began to undress the once proud Queen to begin to ritualistically bathe and dress her in a beautiful gown.
Ascondia didn’t fight the attempt to clean and dress her, nor did she speak much further for a while, as she watched the young Kitsune.
“Kane cannot be away from me for long, it isn’t good for him,” She said finally, “The magicks that keep him alive are carefully balanced, without me they will collapse and he will die,”
“I’m far from fragile, Hades knows this,” Jade said softly. “Of course, as you should. Though now, I’m the last of my kind. It is a sad tale but a truth that is undeniable.”
“That is sad, but you and I have something in common, though I am here by accident or design depending whom you ask,” Ascondia replied softly “We each have our gifts, and our purpose, it seems yours is to serve as mine was to lead,”
She looked to Ascondia for a moment. “Mine was simply to carry on the kitsune line…but I ask the last. Our culture is that men are the stronger and more dominant. Though here in Dentarius my life has changed, as well as my view thanks to Hades. I tended to him initially not quite grasping the concept of freedom…of choice or mind. But things changed, he would have died. Though now as you can see, he thrives…” Jades words were soft and gentle, displaying her love for Hades.
“Is he still good? Does he make you squeal? He was always so aggressive, I made sure we toned that down with Kane, he could get a little intense, made it hard to walk sometimes,” Ascondia chuckled darkly at her words, there was nothing more than a little of her creeping through if only for a moment a statement for a reaction, one she wondered on for a moment.
Jade looked suddenly to Ascondia surprised. “You…and…and Hades? You mean while you were married…?”
Ascondia laughed softly and nodded “A time or two yes, sometimes you just need more than you are getting, but for the most part, he was before Kane, why else do you think he stabbed his brother and left him to die. If not for the fact Kane stole the woman he owned? Or so he liked to believe,”
Jade looked down to the tray that had been eaten. “As far as your question…it is truthfully none of your business, Lady Ascondia. Though, Hades and I are engaged.” She moved to gather the tray and clothing. “The tea should help you sleep, Lady. Speak to the guards outside the door should you have need of me. I will return for breakfast otherwise.”
“Forgive me, my dear, I did not mean to offend, I’m not used to being locked up you see, as Queen this is quite the violation of our laws, I’m just curious as to whom will be losing their head over this? And of course where is my husband?” Ascondia stated calmly her voice now back to the same calm tone of before.
“In due time, Lady. You know how to call me for…excuse me.” Jade said, her words wavered for a moment by emotion and knocked on the door to be released from the cell. She offered a small nod to the guards, though moved quickly from the dungeon to drop the tray into the kitchen and the clothing to the laundry. But then went to the garden, sitting down staring at the fountain.
It didn’t take long before she felt the familiar presence, as Hades sat on the grass before her, slowly he looked up catching her eyes.
“The guard said you left pretty quickly, dare I ask what she did?”
She looked to Hades while her chest rose and fell rapidly from the weight of emotion. “You…and her? Tell me, was it while Kane was wed to her? She said…sometimes you need more then you are getting…”
Hades felt the wind ripped from him as he looked at her, even if he had wanted to, the look in his eye was all too clear, as he let his gaze return to the ground.
“We had our moments, and yes those were while she was with Kane, but Jade I was a very different person back in those days, everything I did then was to hurt Kane, I wanted him to feel it, but he never did, you can’t feel what your magically bound not to, I do regret those days Jade, truthfully I was blinded by hate and anger, with both of them”
Jade slipped from the bench to style with her ankles tucked beneath her bottom, lifting his chin to meet her exotic almond slanted warm brown eyes. “She says I pretend to be fragile for you…do you believe that?”
“I think that considering my history I am fortunate to have found anyone who will put up with me, or even waste their time trying to understand me, but here you are and for that I am thankful Jade, every single day” Hades’ words were soft though an obvious attempt to duck the question, in truth he was unsure of his own answer, he loved her with all he was, but there was a side he kept buried deep down, much like Kane’s vampiric half, Hades had been left with a demon that would drive him crazy at times.
She offered him a small shy smile, caressing his cheek. “Hades, I am much more then I seem…as I know that you are. Please, if there is anything, you wish to tell me. Now is the time. I’d prefer to hear it from you instead of a woman…from your past. I love you. Nothing or no one can change that, but do not ever let me doubt myself.”
“There are parts of me even I’m afraid of Jade,” Hades replied softly
Jade took his hands into hers, purposefully displaying the ring he had presented her. “No. You are allowing this fear to rule. Instead, take control. I…I can help be your rock. I’m not afraid because I know you won’t hurt me.”
“I don’t doubt you’d take anything I did and more, but that side Jade he would hurt you for the pure fact he enjoys it, morality isn’t part of that side, it is simple pleasure by any and all means, a side I have subdued in favour of remaining in control, of rebuilding my reputation, in favour of finding love,”
His thumb ran over the ring gently “You may not be afraid Jade, but I am, that’s why I was so dangerous all those years ago, I wasn’t afraid of the demon I learned long after I had to be”
She curled her hands in his arms pressed each knuckle to her lips, looking to him. “Perhaps…perhaps that is why we found each other. To some, a kitsune is a demon. When in fact, it is a spirit, in the beginning, I fought against such and if I let it consume me without fear…I could combustion or become a Nogitsune. A dark kitsune…it can be summoned but once done such cannot be controlled. This Oni created chaos…revels in it…I can help. Let me teach you to control your Thai Chi.”
“I think that may help, though please if there ever comes a time he gets loose, you need to put me down, that is the agreement I have with Kane, I don’t want to harm you Jade in any way” There was wry smile in his words “Unless you ask really nicely,”
She stared at him in disbelief, shaking her head. “I can’t…I wouldn’t. Because no matter the circumstances I would be with you through anything. I have been through much…you possibly couldn’t understand. Nothing would kill me, but kill you.”
Hades smiled softly nodded “I thought you may say that just then be aware Kane may not hesitate, or you may be the one to bring me back, and I pray it’s the latter truly I do,”
Jade appeared ready to spill tears. “Hades, please. Don’t say that…it seems as though when it happens that you are going to give up. Don’t…don’t please…” Those eyes were large in panic. “I struggled with my kitsune…but I never gave up. You can’t!”
Hades smiled softly as he wiped the tears gently “Forgive me, look at me being all self-centred and miserable, I haven’t given up, I wouldn’t there are too many people I love to leave, and of course, I have no plans to leave the only woman who has made me see sense”
He placed his hands on her thighs gently now looking into her eyes “Kane always said my ability to be miserable was my worst trait, I have not given up, only warning you ahead of time, I wouldn’t just lie down and let it happen, I fight every day because this realm deserves to be protected and you are part of this realm and I would protect you to the ends of it and back,”
She nodded to him, though the tears continued to fall and dropped down her cheeks to her chin and plopped on his hands against her thigh. “I don’t ever want to hear you say that, my love. You have so much to fight for, not just in this war. I will teach you, Thai Chi, it will help you control and find that centre. Such helped me when the darkness threatened.”
“Sounds like a plan, so did our dear Queen speak anything else of use?” Hades smiled now diverting things back to the task at hand “Kane seems to suspect we do not have all the pieces, as usual,”
She sighed softly. “She kept referring to Kane as her husband. That there was hell to pay for whom locked her up. It seems in this past she’s living, Aerian has yet to exist…”
“Hmmm, so how would that translate to her trying to kill her daughter,” Hades mused for a moment, “And why would she still believe her and Kane are married, I get making me look bad, with truths, but to believe something that hasn’t been for some time, not sure of the purpose on that one,”
“Perhaps, they were not finished with Ascondia when we took her?” Jade suggested.
Hades rubbed the back of his neck and sighed deeply his own interactions with Z’ress had not been fun in the least bit.
“She made a mess of me, you saw that, so whatever she has done to Ascondia, we aren’t going to know, we should see if Virra can speak with her, if we get no sense then it will be down to Kane and we pray Aishani doesn’t kill her in the meantime, she will not be happy with someone claiming Kane their own,”
Jade nodded to Hades. “I agree. Shall we then go talk to them?” She adjusted to stand the tears had ceased falling but the remnants remained in her face.

[Another Time] There’s Always A Problem In Dentarius

Stacy was watching as the staff milled about all busy doing one task or another, finally she looked toward Jade.

“Something seems out of place, the realm is trying to right itself, something fundamental has changed, for the better, well for some at least” Her words were hushed and etched with an odd uncertainty, her eyes closed for a moment before she composed herself.

“Is it always this chaotic here?”

Jade and Stacy were in the garden, though, she stood slowly and those warm brown almond slanted eyes followed Stacy’s gaze. “Hm. You may be right, it is only chaotic when something is happening…” She caressed a flower lovingly but felt the serenity of the moment fractured. “How do you mean something fundamental has changed? What does it feel like to you?” She took Stacy’s hand to lead her away from the movement of the staff and into the heart of the garden.

Stacy smiled as she followed her eyes remained on Jade, when they finally found solitude she breathed softly.

“Events have been altered, things that would have been are no longer, it seems Kane and Aishani’s trip through time changed things, seems they are for the better too”

There was an discomfort in her words for a moment before she looked back to Jade “I wouldn’t have been a very good wife anyway and between you and I, Aerian and Virra scare the living hell out of me. You on the other hand, you’re not like any of them”

Jade hesitated on Stacy’s words considering her in silence for the moment. But when she spoke it was soft. “Aerian and Virra suit each other. But there is no reason to fear them. Yes she is very unpredictable but do not worry. I’m sure when it comes to it those two would protect you. What do you mean… I’m not like any of them?”

“I mean they show their power but you you’re more than content to hide it” She smiled softly watching Jade “You come off as gentle and soft but you’re not, you’re not afraid like they are”

“You’re hot as hell, and you’re with Hades as his lover, from what I hear he isn’t known for been the most stable of people, infact his reputation quite frankly scares me more than any other here” Stacy shrugged awkwardly now

Jade considered Stacy for a moment in silence, then returned to attending to her caress and smelling of the flowers. “When you are the last of your kind, there is no choice to be weak. It shows folly and can ultimately end yourself. I’ve had to be strong and overcome many things in my life thus far. I am no different than Hades or the rest of the Eclarus’. We are all fighting to survive, granted only Hades knows of my true potential and has seen it. I guess, in this mess, it’s a wild card that many wouldn’t even fathom.” She sighed softly, sadly. “Hades is dangerous and unpredictable, though, he has a kind heart and is very loving to those that give him that.”

“Why do you think they do it? Why do they fight, they don’t owe anyone anything, yet when the realm is in danger they are front and centre fighting to protect, Kane made a career out of you know, long before he met Ascondia and she scrambled his head, he was good at it too” Stacy sighed softly “As for Hades it seems we have Aishani to thank for his change in heart, she is inevitably the one who set him free all those years ago”

She watched the winds rustle the leaves above them as she adjusted herself awkwardly with a shrug “Kane and I were supposed to be together, but the realm chose to change the rules so he get Aishani and I get to protect the intent of the realm in one fashion or another, us healers are destined to be alone, which honestly is fine, but again you, you’re out of place shifted almost? Dentarian for sure but different somehow?” Her words were thought made words rather than any real statement as she turned to face Jade with a grin “Supposedly I have the most power in the whole realm, able to bend the realm as I see fit, yet even the realm itself has questions about your intentions”

Jade gently caressed the budding flowers, as Stacy spoke, it was clear that the woman was listening but chose to remain silent. She turned to look at her those almond slanted brown eyes absent with only fiery orange orbs, almost like a rippling fire. “I am the last of my kind…Only Hades has seen my true form. I was raised with strict values and honor…but, Hades has opened my eyes to many things. I stand by him, as he stands by me.” She stood slowly, blinking and those soft and warm brown eyes returned. “I am the last of my Kitsune family. We are supernatural and known as tricksters, with no concept of right or wrong. But, I am different…I love, as no Kitsune has before. I was to bring my family honor, by being wed, but when the procession arrived it was nothing but a slaughter…Hareover and Virra’s father killed all of them. I managed to escape with my life, watching my home burn…” She fell, sad and silent. “You have the nerve to tell me the realm has questions? We lived in hiding and in peace…until they came. You explain to me WHY my family was taken from me and I was left to be SPARED!?” Tears fell down her cheeks, while her aura began to grow in a fiery radiance with the ears of a fox and muzzle, the eyes glowing a blazing color of flame. “I thought, I was accepted…but, the realm doesn’t even accept me…” The power that was flowing from her was incredible, like a static energy, causing the finer hairs on Stacy’s skin to rise.

The air around them crackled with a strange energy as Stacy watched Jade a flicker of nerves getting the better of her, the air spun behind her before the storm seemingly sprang from nowhere, lightening splitting the skies above them as the rain poured upon the two women.

“ENOUGH!” Barked Sarantha who had manifested somewhere in all this “Stacy it is your purpose to convey the wishes of the realm, not speculate nor question things that are, the Kitsunes fate was unwanted” She sighed as she turned to face Jade “But unfortunately a necessity to ensure you ended up here, one of few things I regret during my tenure as Healer was the fact that I was unable to prevent this, I learned of things only after they had occurred, not even Aerian was warned or informed, I can only assume it was to bring you here to Hades”

Sarantha paced between the two women for a moment the storm had now begun to disperse as she paused looking to Stacy “You must learn to control yourself, it isn’t about you, your life is for the realm now, alienating those that protect you is not a wise choice, Jade your purpose may not be clear except that you bring strength to House Elcarus, you serve Hades as his lover at his weakest time, his return from captivity should have been his end, but you saw him through it, you have served him well thus far, you and he falling in love was not predicted but the heart will want what it wants”

Stacy drew a breath as she listened just for a moment before finally she bowed her head “Forgive my milady, I was out of place in my assumptions” her words were soft as she watched Jade awkwardly “I am still finding my place here it seems”

As the lightening split the skies, the bolt seemed to gravitate towards Jade and struck her but instead of the smell of burnt flesh or hair, it was absent and appeared to be absorbed by her aura. That now flickered and faded into her being, leaving her now drenched with the pouring rain.

Jade fell to her knees now, looking down to her hands that cupped the rain water as it poured down. She listened in silence and rose slowly, to lift those warm brown eyes to Stacy and then to Sarantha. “My apologies…my temper as the fox awakens can be dangerous. I am one that not many accept much the reason as to why I served for so long. Hades is the one that broke me from that and welcomed me when I welcomed him…Forgive me, Stacy…” She tipped her head down while closing her eyes.

“The mistake was mine, I am still been adapted by the realm” Stacy looked to Jade for a moment before she looked to Sarantha “It seems the old healer has to keep reminding me of who I am to become, it just sucks it’s taking so long to get there, but I am always going to be here for you if you need anything, we’re all different in one way or another”

Jade remained silent, drenched now, as she shivered, though she nodded her head to Stacy’s words. “One can only be patient in these times. Yes, we are all different. Now, if you will excuse me…I’m soaked and prefer to not catch my death by the chill.” She offered Stacy and Sarantha a bow in her bend, but, by the way she was to leave it was a means to escape the situation and leaving the current healer and the past healer alone to converse.

Hades had finally made his way through the grounds tracking Jade by her scent in the air though for the moment remaining hidden from her, as she extracted herself from Stacy and Sarantha he continued to follow her, despite not hearing the conversation he knew she was feeling unsettled. Silently from the shadows he followed her at least until she passed through another isolated area, it was a hunters instinct as he moved swiftly and silently behind her, his hand wrapping around her mouth to prevent her screaming as in the same moment he dragged among the bushes into a small garden.

He leaned against her ear dropping his tone to the one she knew well “You look troubled my dear” his grip on her mouth slipping allowing her free from him now.

As the hand was removed, he realized that now he was wet from the soaked fabrics of her kimono. She turned to face him then, her normally warm brown eyes rippling with the fire he saw before upon the rooftop, her Kitsune. But, in a blink the inferno was gone and replaced by the exotic brown almond slanted eyes. Before he could react further, her lips crushed against his, warm and flowing with life, her hands lifted up to gently cup at the base of his neck.

He didn’t resist that warmth spreading through him instantly his hands already resting at her hips as he returned the kiss deeply, after a few moments he broke and settled back slightly his eyes meeting hers “Do I need to knock some sense into our healer? Cut her into tiny pieces and feed her to the livestock?” There was amusement to his words but something beneath reminded her he would do so if she asked.

“I heard nothing, it wasn’t my place but you aren’t usually pushed to reveal yourself in such a way I can only assume you were pushed into doing so, then the rain was from our healer trying to flex her realmly muscle?” Hades shrugged slightly “She is a little reckless for my liking, they wouldn’t have her on a leash from Sarantha if she wasn’t. Makes me wonder why the realm chose a human in the first place the last one didn’t turn out to well” he lent in to her ear kissing just below before whispering “If you believe such things about me that is”

Jade looked to him in silence, a smile forming upon her lips of the calm exterior, but, Hades knew that fox lay beneath and powerful. “No. She is learning and we all must be patient…Stacy just hit, a nerve with me. One I was not prepared for.” She looked down and departed from him, walking to a bush of flowers, though, her own presence of the cherry blossom was still stronger to his senses. “Stacy knew, I was different but the way…she worded it made me irritated and upset. She said that I am out of place, shifted almost. Dentarian but different. Spoken that the realm itself had it’s questions about my intentions. You know, that my family was murdered by Hareover and Virra’s father, but, I escaped…just the nerve of questioning me after everything I have been put through in my life…”

Hades looked to her quietly his mind settling over her words “It doesn’t matter if you’re out of place or different, it took me a long time to find my place but it’s here, as yours is by my side” Hades moved toward her his arms slipping around her waist slowly “If you ever question that, just look around, you came as slave and a maid, and now everyone here from me to those that serve all show you the same respect you showed them in their place. Kane put a ban on outright slavery in Dentarius, rare a slave trader has the balls to come through here, but Jade you have become so much more than anyone expected of you, me included”

Hades lay is head against the back of hers for a moment “I wasn’t looking for love, quite honestly I like having you answer to me, you know how damaged I was when I came home, I enjoyed the power it gave me, a sense of power after been so helpless to help myself or Aerian. But as such things are love decided it was going to kick me in the head a few times and remind me this realm has things worth fighting for, dying for if needed”

She relaxed in the wrap of his arms, placing her hands upon his to secure the hold, leaning against him. Jade chuckled with a turn in his arms to face him, lifting a hand to caress his cheek and trace a fingertip upon his upper lip. “Sarantha spoke clarity and scolded Stacy for clarifying that her purpose was to convey the wishes of the realm and to not speculate nor to question things that are. It eased my mind to know that the fate of the Kitsune was not wanted in the end. A greater evil that lead me here and to you. Sarantha showed remorse for being unable to stop the events. I bring strength to the House Elcarus, specifically you. She also said that your return from Ceremon should have been your end, but, I saw you through. The fact of us falling in love…well, that wasn’t predicted.” She sighed softly, offering him that special smile for Hades and Hades alone. “I also, believe there is some bitterness in Stacy. She mentioned that she was to be with Kane but it changed with the presence of Aishani. One I mean to keep an eye on for the future…” Jade leaned her cheek against his chest.

“Its possible, if it was the order of things Kane and Aishani been thrown through time could have altered events, even if they tried to limit their interaction” Hades mused for a moment “But then Healers hardly ever interact with another, except to pass on the line, usually a male is chosen to create a child and then the healer raises the child alone preparing her for her duty when her mother is no longer around”

He paused for a moment “If we had known, Jade I promise you Kane and I would have sent the full force of Dentarius to protect your people, if the realm chose not to impart that on us until it was too late, and honestly we believed you all dead, we cannot protect what we aren’t prepared for” He sighed gently his grip on her waist tightened slightly “I only hope with time you can forgive that failing”

She tensed at the grasp of his hands on her hips, though, lifted her hands to place upon his shoulders in a gentle pull back. “It is not, in the sense, failing…but, the fact that everyone, save you of course, seem to find me out of place and even the realm. I did not ask to be wed, nor did I ask for my family to be murdered. The fact is, no one ever asks for this. But, it happens for whatever reason, all that matters is that I am with you, Hades and your family accepts me…I am frightened would they discover my true self, to be shunned.”

“We will need to tell them, eventually” Hades spoke gently “But they wont turn you away, I won’t let them. Kane has Aishani. Aerian has Virra why should I not get my bride as well?” He remained quiet for a little while simply holding her his body pressed against hers.

She leaned back suddenly, looking upwards to him with wide almond slanted eyes. “Bride?”

“Bride” Hades replied softly “Soon, I will remove the last remnants of a life that has haunted you and make you completely mine” There was oddness to his voice, the instinct to protect her all too clear “You’d be Elcarus and then no one would dare question you again. You’d also be Lady Jade rather than the slave girl screwing Hades”

Hades had heard the whisperings and for the most part glared down anyone he caught question Jades intent, he had for the best part kept his temper in check, for her sake. But at heart it bothered him they would question either her or him in anyway, it was true his return from being captive had changed him, it had darkened him in many ways but Jade was the only light that cut through that dark, a debt he could never repay other than his unconditional love, without question Hades knew he loved her.

She sighed contently resting her cheek against his chest with those delicate fingers curling into his tunic. “Isn’t it customary to ask first? Forget what those others say. You know your heart Hades. I have heard you speak it and felt you act upon it. Why not ask? Make it official.”

Hades smiled wryly as he his hands slipped inside her Kimono “Because I have a plan for that, and right now I’m missing a few things to ask you correctly, but I promise I will ask, it will be very soon and hopefully you will say yes” his hands skimmed gently over the flesh of her hips and rested just under her breasts “Unless you’d rather I just make a mess of such a decision?”

Jade inhaled sharply as his stealthy hands pressed past the fold of her kimono to make contact with her flesh. She looked to him with those warm brown eyed incredibly exotic in the tilt. “I wouldn’t wish to ruin your plans.” Jade leaned forward to claps her lips firmly against his on a deep and passionate kiss.

“I promise when the time is right, I will make it worth the wait” Hades heard the branch crack and quickly retracted his hand with a growl, another moment and dark hair man stepped through into their hidden area.

“Vampire Hunter? A little dangerous to wander into an Elcarus when you hunt our kind” Hades bit darkly instinctively he stepped before Jade, suddenly looking much more dangerous as he straightened himself off

“Forgive the intrusion my lord, they couldn’t locate you. We have a problem” The man stammered, he tried to remain calm but there was panic in his voice

“There’s always a problem it’s Dentarius for crying out loud, I’d be more worried if there wasn’t” Hades shrugged with a wry smile, his defensive stance remained even as his voice softened a little, he was about to make another witted comment when the hunter cut him off.

“Ceremon has taken Elvera, he has full control of the High Council” The man stated bluntly, Hades felt his blood run cold at those words, he looked to the hunter then Jade and then back “We need to go my sweet”

Jade placed a hand on his forearm to the news. Each knew the answer this news carried and she nodded. “It seems things were too calm. I believe it is time we summon Lord Kane and Lady Aishani. We need the house as one.”

[Circles & Lies] Who We Are

Jade rose from her seat beside Hades within his office, moving to answer the door. Once it was opened the guard stood on the opposite side, though, she inclined a brow and stepped to the side with a gesture for him to enter. Once though, Jade closed it behind him and moved to take her position behind Hades to the left, the sight of a guard caused her to place her hand calmingly upon his shoulder. Her beautiful brown eyes were fixed on Hades while waiting for the guard to speak.

“My Lord I have been tasked with informing you you’re brother and Lady Aishani are headed for Emerald City, there is a situation they must deal with that requires their immediate attention” The guard began, the words Emerald City caused Hades to shift awkwardly “They ask you remain here to begin preparations for the coming spring, they also request you do not intervene in their affairs”

His last statement caused the guard to look to the floor, Hades simply laid his hand over Jades softly.

“They would ask I don’t save their asses, but Emerald City is Aishanis jurisdiction not ours, if they need us I’m sure we’ll find out in due course. I trust you are relaying the same message to Aerian?”

“Yes my lord” The guard replied quickly

“Wouldn’t bother she left early this morning, but I’ll see she is informed” Hades replied “Did he leave word of the wedding plans?”

“Yes my Lord, he requests Elsa is informed they had a matter to attend but will return before their wedding day” The guard replied

“Ok, well you have your duties to attend, we need to check the walls, and ensure those who took seasonal residence with us are safe to return to their homes, it’s lucky he gets to go off playing the hero while we do all the work. I will get the magick defences checked no doubt our dear family will be preparing to take another run at us, and I just love to imagine that psychotic bitch Z’ress will be making an appearance, admittedly sticking my sword up her ass has some appeal” Half of his statement was just thought out loud as smiled softly “Very well, return to your duties”

The guard bowed and exited the office closing the door “Seems we have our work cut out Jade, sometimes I wonder if Kane attracts so much trouble on purpose so I have to save his ass”

Jade turned her hand when Hades lifted his own to place upon hers, instigating a soft squeeze of support. She then looked to Hades as he spoke directly to her after the leave of the guard, Jade remained still and silent for a time then removed her hand from his own with a kiss to the top. “I’m not opposed to work, Hades. I’m more than willing to do my part with the family…I mean with the Elcarus’…I mean…” Her voice fell silent, while her eyes lowered.

“You will be expected to do so, you did lay down with the crazy one after all” Hades smiled softly, his hand curled around hers a soft tug drew her round him at the same moment he moved his chair back drawing her into his lap “We have a lot to do in preparation for the spring, and now my brother and his wife are of gallivanting it rests on you and I to ensure the needs of the realm are met”

His arms slid around her waist holding her to him “Over time they will come to love you as I do, we have both moved far from where we started”

Jade blinked and gasped in surprise as she was drawn to settle in his lap. “I do hope you are right about them liking me… I’ve never felt how I do when I’m with you. But I will do my best to help any way I can. But perhaps they aren’t gallivanting…?”

“They are off with a diplomatic disaster, not something I envy” Hades softly kissing her cheek gently “And yes, I am admittedly happiest when I’m around you Jade, you both calm and excite me all within the same moment, I’m thankful for you ever moment”

Jade offered him a small, but warm smile in response to his kiss upon her cheek, though, turned to press her lips firmly against his. As the surface massaged and caressed his own, it was increased with the warmth of her lips and the slickness of her tongue that prodded beyond to stir his own. Such was passionate, hungry and loving.

Her force caught just for a moment before he responded, his mind letting go of whatever thoughts were in his head becoming lost by her and their desire for each quickly drowned out any sense of logic in him.

Rarely, did Jade take initiative as such, though, amidst the kiss he felt her weight shift upon him with the gentle rustle of her kimono and a tug at his trousers to release his hidden treasure to begin to roll the heat of her loins against the morsel.

He growled his eyes flickered with that same desire that burned at every piece of him, his hands clamped to her hips one short motion shifted her position before driving her down onto him.

Jade parted from the conjunction of their lips to release a moan as he pushed into her, though after settling for a moment her hips began to roll in a rocking motion, the weight kept her pinned.

He pressed his lips against the flesh of her neck soft and slow along her shoulder his grip relaxed giving her more control, his body now prickled with that deep desire she drew out of him like no other, wanting her in every way in that moment.

To her position the fabrics of her kimono shifted to expose the delicate slope to her neck and shoulder, gracing the surface offered Hades her magnificent cherry blosom scent, warm and fresh as spring. Her hips rolled and rocked against him, stirring her very core with the musical sounds to articulate the intense moment between the two lovers. The sense of their bodies becoming one, that is when he saw it, at first it appeared to be a trick of the eye in the light behind her, but, there was a illumination that was tinted in a soft orange, almost as though flames but not dangerously so.

His mind traced that moment his hands gripping her hips as he lifted her free of him before plunging her back against him a motion he repeated several times his eyes remained focused on the intricate designs that adorned her flesh, his mind wondering if he was just loopy with his desire for her.

Jade tilted her head back, those sounds singing to a deeper part of him, while, her intricate tattoos rippled upon her milken flesh and the fabric fell more to reveal the contours of her upper bosom. Her body tightened in the grasp around his manhood as a warmth tickled his loins and thighs from her own juices that were flowing. The flames began to flicker around her with the portion upon the head taking in a foxlike muzzle and ears in the hue, it was when she looked to him that her eyes were black with a slit of gold. Such happened for only a moment before all the flames disappeared and her eyes returned to that beautiful brown.

His hands clamped as his eyes darkened holding her tight and firmly in place, there was the reminder now of just who he was “Fire? Wolf?” His words came slowly unsure if he was threatening her or trying to figure the moment out, his mind fought against the need to finish their moment quickly hammering against realising there was far more to her than he could ever have thought.

Jade stared at him for a long time, remaining silent and still, her lower lip trembled as though his words came as shock and disbelief. She whimpered, attempting to crawl from his lap in a rush to escape.

“You know they will hunt you and not just because you’re different” his words were soft as he released her taking enough to magically seal the door “difficult to protect you if I don’t understand Jade” his eyes softened as did his tones now

Jade stopped at the door as it was sealed, her shoulders were quivering as her back was to him. The peer of the back piece climbing over the fallen fabric, she glanced to him over her shoulder, those warm almond slanted brown eyes swimming with the tears that glistened down her face. “I just…I just wanted to be normal…I know, they will hunt me, they have before…” She remained silent again, while her shoulders quivered and the barely audible sniffs heard in her attempt to regain the emotion. “I didn’t want you to find out like this, I would never hurt you…or anyone…I’m…I’m a Kitsune.”

“They have before, but they won’t again not if I have a say in the matter, but hiding it was a bad idea especially here, the mansion enhances magicks” Hades sighed as he stood “You can’t leave, I need you” he halted to the side of his desk watching her “But I need the truth of how you ended up in slave caravan, please?”

Jade turned slowly to face him, almost as though his words spoke to her, it was a different sight to see her cheeks stained with the moisture of tears and fear in her warm brown eyes. “I…I am a young Kitsune. I didn’t know what I was, my family kept it from me, until the day that the men came…They tried to hide me, I didn’t understand why and I was so angry with them for hiding me in a closet. I–I didn’t know what happened, I got so mad that everything around me erupted in flames. I grew so frightened, my father remained as did my brothers to protect us as we ran…” She lifted a hand to touch at her arm and shoulder. “It was my mother and I. She taught me proper etiquette of our people, for a time, we lived as maids in a house. But, that grew short when the master made advances on my mother…another fire happened. She taught me what she could but always had a problem teaching me to control the Kitsune. It was the day that we were found by slave traders…I was only six and they–they forced me to watch. They forced me to watch as the men took carnal desire in her flesh. All I could hear was her screaming and begging to let me go.” Jade crumbled to her knees and began to sob into her hands, as the flames began to grow around her as though caressing and calming her but it was brilliant, dangerous and beautiful. “They killed her and took me in, but, the leader…decided to keep my purity. But it was recent when I was sold, we were passing through Dentarius on the way to my new Master…that landed me here. To you.” She lifted her eyes, now a blazing orange.

“You can’t go out there alone Jade, I’m a little confused and hurt you perhaps failed to trust me enough to share this, or impressed by the fact you just did, you’re rare here you know that, it would explain why they tried to cut through territory where they knew we wouldn’t allow their kind if they were caught” Hades sat back against the desk “They were caught and you ended up in the one place that is actually as safe as it gets, and not just because we’re here, it’s no secret the Mansion wasn’t built up here by accident, Ceremon chose it on purpose” he stopped his train of thought as his eyes looked to her, his hands flickered as flames curled around his hands lifting he smiled softly.

“Fire is an Elcarus element, Kane choses to use it for simple things me on the other hands, I find it comforting in a fight, I’ve been known to incinerate villages just because someone upset me, in the older days of course, I will have to inform my brother, but that won’t change anything between us unless you chose otherwise” The flames flickered and vanished as he took another step toward her “Also you can’t leave while my defence spells are up, nor do you need to worry you may incinerate the house the magicks that protect this place were strengthened after Kane rebuilt the mansion. Not sure we’d survive another dragon through the roof but everything else should be safe enough” he scratched his head thoughtfully “Unless you somehow exceed the power of 3 Elcarus’ though granted right now only one is here” there was amusement in that final statement “I love you Jade, that hasn’t changed, I can’t let you go”

To the mention of hurt, Jade lowered her gaze with a familiar shameful slump of her shoulders, the vision of the flaming fox that surrounded her dimmed and subsided until it was all gone. She slowly, almost reluctantly lifted her gaze as his hand moved and she saw the flame caress his hand. Jade’s warm brown eyes had returned as he stepped closer to her, swallowing thickly behind closed lips. “I apologize, Hades. It has been hard to not speak of it, nor is it something I am proud of. The damage I can do even by accident on not being able to control my Kitsune, can kill…” She stepped forward to curl her hands within his. “You promise? I love you, Hades but I feel so ashamed for not speaking this sooner and you had to discover it like this.”

“Don’t worry you will learn to control it, in time and with guidance” Hades replied gently his hands taking hers drawing her to him “As for killing as I said here it is all but impossible, out there I can’t say for sure” His eyes settled on hers soft and still shining with the love he had only for her “A need to protect ourselves rests within us all, I apologise for perhaps overreacting it’s not every day your lover burst into flame it was a surprise”

His lips kissed her forehead gently as his arms slid around her, it was at this point he was evidently aware he was still half naked against her.

As his arms wrapped around her, she lifted her gaze to him, a hand rising to caress his face. “At times, I think, I don’t deserve you. I still have not gotten my first tail. But, I’m sure that we can work through this, together. You just have so much on your shoulders being an Elcarus that I didn’t want to be a burden to you or your family…”

“If you were a burden you wouldn’t be here” He replied simple his hands drew her back against him his lips captured hers in a deep kiss “I was bred to be where I am, I went a little crazy, I learned the value of protecting what you love, and I learned it by losing something I loved more than myself, my former wife and child being murdered almost broke me, Kane brought me back from the edge, you Jade have moved me away from the abyss I was always teetering upon, you saved me when no other ever could” his words were so soft it was hard to believe the came from him.

“I was an accident. My father made sure to remind me when I did something wrong…You see, only a female can be a Kitsune, I got it from my mother.” She remained silent while leaning her cheek against his chest, curling her fingers at his side gently. “Perhaps, one day, I would like to hear of your former wife and child. She must have been an amazing woman to capture your heart.”

“Right place, wrong time” Hades replied gently his hands now slipping along her body in thought before moving back to unfasten her kimono, his eyes set on hers with a soft look before he caught her hoisting her to the edge of the desk

The kimono wilted from upon her after the obi was removed, crumpled in silken fabric upon the floor around her ankles. Every inch of her was exposed, from the slender stem of her neck to the delicate slope of her shoulders, one arm painted with the bold reds and blacks to her koi tattoo to the peak of the back piece at her neck. The full bosom with the perfectly pink buds centred down to her birthing hips and the dark meadow that lead to the intimate garden. Her eyes remained upon his, those exotic pair with the almond slant and warmth in her hues, a small gasp of surprise left her lips to the catch and lift to set upon the edge of his desk. The sight alone had not been witness before in the office of Hades Elcarus, amidst the papers lay an exotic creature and now was even more alluring.

“The world is a strange place, each of us unique, those of us who possess power and some who know more than we could ever hope to, that’s what makes the Everlands such a wondrous place to be” Hades spoke soft as he stepped to her his body forcing her legs apart as he stepped to her “But when you find someone who fits, someone who gives and requires nothing in return, that Jade is worth fighting for no matter the risks”
