[Redrawn Boundaries] The Newcomer

Kane stretched back the draw the string of his long bow slowly, his eye trained on the straw doll some ways down the archers range, a long drawn breath and the arrow let loose slamming into the target off centre.

“Ah come on” He muttered softly reaching up draw another arrow knocking it slowly, the second arrow was also off target “One of those days it seems”

The air was warm but a breeze rustled the trees above, the Mansion was off to the right, the archery range down the gardens a good distance for good reason. As Kane leant his

bow providing a crutch of sorts allowing him to survey his lands before he swung the bow onto his shoulder and made his way back to the Mansion, it was headed toward mid-afternoon which meant the next group of merchants and dealers we’re about due to try and pitch him a reason not to throw them out of Dentarius.

As he set his path, returning to the Mansion, something appeared to be off. It was a tickle in the back of his mind, almost as though, someone or something was watching him. But, then it came to him, the breeze was in such an angle that downwind carried in essence a scent but would one know how to avoid such, it was plausible to be forgotten.

Upon his return setting in his pathway were the arrows that were off centre on the archer’s range, laying like serpents at rest, ready to strike. Though, a quick glance around, he would catch a shadow moving away past the tree line. Slow, stalking and the swing of the hips announced a feminine grace. A cloak was upon the slender but strong shoulders with the fabric of the cowl concealing the hair and features from the backside.

Kane halted before turning to face her, his near 7′ frame slowly taking her in at least what he could observe of her in that moment. His mind quickly processing her scent as one he hadn’t come across. Or she was at least not one he remembered as he released his grasp on his sword.

“Good evening milady” He spoke “Welcome to House Elcarus, though considering you’re here I’m guessing you didn’t use the main gates?”

The woman that was walking away paused, then the chuckle that rolled past her lips was spent in a rich purr. “Gates? There were gates?”

She then turned to face him, due to her height in comparison to Kane’s own, the shadows concealed her features perfectly. Save for one golden hue that appeared to glow softly amongst the shade offered by the hood, her lips though, were succulent and plush, and stained by a familiar berry often found in the forests. A tilt of her head and adjustment upon her boots, offered him the quick glance of the gleam of two venomous daggers at her hips.

She was nearly dwarfed by his size, being only five foot five in height.

He smiled softly his eyes looking over her to the skies before taking them back to her “Lord Kane Elcarus, though not so much lord as elected to keep the town safe” Kane rocked on his heels for a moment before turning and offering her a direction toward the mansion.

“It’s been an odd day and I could really do with a drink or few would you care to join me?” It had occurred to him she could be a threat but it was what sort that bothered him the most.

She tilted her head a slight to his offer, again those plush polished lips coiled into a smirk. “Sounds boring, to be quite frank. Elected official, that is.” While he rocked on his heels, that golden eye focused on him, though, she remained still as though frozen in place. After a moment of silence, so long in fact it lead Kane to believe that she wouldn’t speak the purr rolled from her lips in much more bemusement. “I don’t drink. Fogs ones mind, but if we are talking juice, then I will greatly accept. Since I haven’t had the luxury in quite some time.”

“It’s not as dull as one might think, well up to the point of signing merchant contracts and removing the rabble, but Aerian takes care of the worst” Kane smiled and headed for the Mansion.

Sliding in through the main doors into the huge open hallway, it’s fires blazed high, the inhabitants milled about their duties and chores each would offer a bow as Kane made his way past to the office on the far side of the communal area.

He held the door and waited his eyes watching her carefully.

She walked with him through the main entry to the Mansion, while in a flicker; he saw her gloved hands, delicate and nimble digits that peered through the fingerless tips. A passive shrug rolled her shoulders to his comment, while he saw the grace of this woman’s prowess in each step, the subtle sway of her hips accenting the always present threat of her sheathed daggers, but, gave birth to something else new. Her legs held straps over the leather leggings, each fitted to small throwing knives.

Before they entered, she stopped, looking to him with that strange golden hue. “My manners have been poor. My name is Aishani.” Though, without a seconds pause, there after she stepped through into the office.

He watched her as she passed, before looking back out over the now filling room, he would have to deal with them eventually but for the moment he was content to be distracted by the new comer.

He slid his cloak free of his shoulders and hung it by the door, at his hips were his own twin blades, he had left his bow on the bar top, which had then been hastily packed away by the bar keep. He unhooked the sheath of arrows dropping them in the chest by the door quickly followed by his blades and gloves. He moved to sit at his desk a pile of papers on one side.

She kept her weapons fastened, even the cloak on her shoulders, though as he took a seat, Aishani’s slender fingers lifted to draw back the cowl that concealed her features. Now, with no shadows or cowl in the way, Kane could see her features.

Her right golden eye was like an softly glowing amber against her dark ashen skin tone, a inset precious metal, her left eye was milky from the damage of a grizzly scar that drew the pain from her left brow down across her eye and over her nose to the bottom apple of her cheek. The structure of her face held high and beautifully defined cheekbones that spoke of her youth, while the scar and the intelligence in her good eye spoke she was much older then she appeared.

Her elegant elfish ears peered from between; ebon threads were fixed in dreads, gathered at the back crown of her head in a high tail, spilling down to the middle of her back. An ornament graced the dreads, as a black raven’s feather. The tip of one such shell to her ear was missing the point, a common sign of a criminal, or a immoral punishment. Now, as he sat, Kane held the perfect view of her partially concealed shape beneath the shadows. Her figure held delicious birthing hips with a waist that spoke of the trained core muscles beneath the black under bust leather corset and a haphazardly placed tunic beneath, causing plumpness to the endowment of her bosom. Aishani moved with that paramount grace to settle upon a chair before his desk, the black leather leggings worn in places softening the pull on her limbs.

“My feet. Wind. Ground. I could go on.” Aishani commented lightly, leaning back into the chair, casually withdrawing her dagger but this was not in a threatening manner, gliding the very tip of her blade to expertly work the grit from beneath her nails. “But, let me cut to the chase. Since that was your angle from the beginning. I understand that the Treaty of Dentarius. Individuals are after me, the less known the better. I lost them in Elvera. I am requesting temporary sanctuary within your lands, Kane Elcarus.”

Kane lent back in his chair his eyes tracing her slowly taking her in carefully, finally he sat forward placing his hands in front of him on his desk.

“Elvera? That’s quite a feat, and no doubt maddening to the Queen” the thought curled his lips slightly at the thought

“However, you’re request for asylum would come with a couple of problems, firstly my authority extends in name only past the grounds, should the Dentarian guard catch you I would have a job getting you out, secondly the Queen is my ex-wife, which I guess isn’t really a problem and reason enough for me to grant you asylum”

Kane fell silent for a few moments as he processed his thoughts it wouldn’t do him well to turn anyone away now, he never had before and as such he had the authority to grant asylum to anyone on Dentarian land even with the complications of the Sherrif and the Mayor.

A brow inclined at his mention of the Queen being his ex-wife, though, her expression remained indifferent otherwise, still her golden eye was fixed on the methodical cleaning of the grime beneath her fingernails, as he caught the fleeting moment of color it appeared to be dried blood in the hue of the flakes. “Pledge myself to you…as what? The last time I was forced to pledge to anyone caused me a great deal of pain in my life. I understand that I have little choice at this moment but I have landed here, sitting before you for a reason.” She lifted her fingers to purse her lush lips with a blow to remove the excess dusting, licking the berry stained surface with the grace of her pink tongue. “If it is too much of an issue. I can of course move along, as I said I evaded those individuals looking for me in Elvera. I gave them a false trail in the wrong direction.”

“It would be personal assistant, or some such position” Kane smiled softly his eyes watching her carefully eyeing the dagger for just a moment “It would be a title and no more, I hate paper work but it must be done, it will also avoid questions”

Kane turned the page to her and laid the quill beside “They won’t ask and we won’t tell, no expectations”

Kane lent back once more his eyes settled quietly upon hers, his mind now wondering if his offer was incorrectly put. He wanted to help her and that he was entirely and  completely sure of.

Aishani glanced with her single good eye upon the parchment that was turned in her direction, there was a partial view within the milky eye was defiantly a possibility. She continued the idle attention to a nail, splaying her hands while inspecting each nail critically, then slamming down the dagger in the paper. Her expression still remained calm, enigmatic, as she appeared to decide that the written words may be poison to her, some viper ready to strike.

“Ah, yes, such a fine position. Me, a personal assistant?” That rolling purr of amusement dripped past the luscious polished lips, tongue flicking upon the surface again. “Ah, there is always expectations. Either from you, or me. Regardless questions will be asked, as well as motives, one can not escape that fact. I made that mistake once…” She dislodged the dagger with little force, placing the weapon back within the bedding of a sheath. Pulling the paper close, though, her eye skimmed it improperly and at length, the way one that is too stubborn to admit fault…then again, perhaps, this female could not read.

Even with her driving a dagger into his desk he remained quiet simply watching her with a curious sense. A soft smile form as he finally drew the paper back placing it among the rest, he folded his hands on the desk leaning forward to study her a moment, his long dark hair framing his features, the a face of a young man but his eyes would tell the tale of someone much older, all part of the vampire in him.

“I have come to learn to expect nothing from another, unless they wish to give it of course, but things here are only just starting to find some normalcy after the Dragon Wars, we all lost something some more than others.” He paused for a moment “Your request for Asylum is granted, should you encounter any trouble simply give them my name”

He had not mean to complicate things but she intrigued him, and of course he had to ensure she wasn’t trying to kill him. He had in truth never denied an asylum request to anyone, he had and always would help those in need.

“I will have a room prepared for you, you are free to remain here as long as you wish” A soft simple statement that he let hang between them.

Aishani leaned back as Kane folded his hands an bent forward a slight, almost as though in that moment, she was repulsed. Yet, her expression warranted of next to nothing. While his intent was to observe, that single golden hue was fixed on him, like the terror of something unknown. Amusingly, this held a strange standoffish quality but much intrigue upon the two. Each suspicious of the other; Kane’s assistance to those in need, Aishani’s enigmatic purpose and nature.

Then suddenly the rolling purr of her amusement began to drip from the luscious lips, deepening then raising in pitch to a laugh, while it must have been normal to her the

sound was as silver as bells to some but sharp as daggers to others; everything was left to interpretation. The smirk upon her lips remained after the amusement had died upon

her lips. “My, my…you are amusing. It is refreshing for being chased for so long and being alone with only my Shadow as company.” But then she sobered, even the expression upon the plush surface of her lips absent as though it was never present to begin with. “Yet, I have signed nothing when it was a binding contract. I understand, trust is earned and never given. You have extended courtesy it is time to work to that…mutual understanding between us.” She nodded the raven’s feather ornament in her hair glistening like liquid black in the light. “I will stay as long as it is safe and those that are chasing me have not found me. Provided I remain to be welcomed. But, who, knows. Times and events can always change.” Aishani stood, now, he caught her scent, strange it wasn’t smelt before on their original introduction. The aroma, was just beneath her skin, possibly the pheromones of a strong woman, yet, it was positively mouth-watering, a light dusting of feminine musk and rare flower that…could not be place to his recollection but it could easily be a subterranean flower.

Kane felt the prickle across his skin a sense of her so deep his mind clouded from the stimulation, it forced him to shift awkward as he watched her stand.

Finally he brought himself to his feet, a slow breath as he moved from behind his desk, a glance over her shoulder told him enough to know he wanted to avoid that room beyond her.

“I think perhaps a tour would serve me better today that politics, and your company would make that tour much better” He tried to choose his words with care, but it was now he allowed himself to look her over properly, he had already assessed she was a better ally than enemy. “I assure while you are here, it is highly unlike anyone including the Elverans would attempt to harm you, my name carries some weight with the whole realm, you have my word”

She nodded briefly to him, while following he gaze to the room behind her, a knowing smirk forming on her plush lips.

“Politics, do bore me, entirely. But, it would be simpler to say that you wish to avoid the conflagration of individuals behind me in the room. Do they not deserve as much respect as I am entitled to? I can wait for you to conclude your business. I could use some rest and a warm bath, if that is not too much to ask? Just point me in the direction of one that can assist in settling me. We can meet later, after your duties have been finished.” She chuckled in that sensual purr, watching him for his reaction to her words, the golden eye softly humming in the shadows of the room, while her scent appeared to grow more delicious by the minute that she lingered.

Kane looked out among those waiting, a faint twist in his gut as he longingly wished for his brother to take care of such matters, but he knew she was correct and some-things simply shouldn’t be avoided.

It was then he caught sight of one he seriously wished he hadn’t one which would require his attention, he sighed softly as he crossed back to retrieve his weapons.

“And so it seems I have no choice, I will have one of our maids take you to your room, there are baths and we actually have hot water, the world may appear to be stuck in the dark ages but we do have a few luxuries”

Kane stepped into the Main Hall instantly drawing the attention of most within. “I will join you once I am done here” Kane was in that moment thankful she wasn’t able to see his face as it flushed with slight embarrassment at his last statement, inwardly he groaned before turning to face her “We can discus things later perhaps over dinner?”

You Have Got To Be Kidding Me

Wow, you’re joking right? I write this from inside the Sherrifs Cell, like seriously they rode up and arrested me, my charge? Hmm seems they like me for Ravens murder, I get it, I mean I am probably the most likely in Dentarius, I have a reputation for it, I was an Assassin for the Elemen High Counselet a number of years ago, I have also been known to do contract killings, so I do have a reputation for it.

desha_s_domain_prison_cell_by_adb_fantasy-d6a8tobThe flaw in their deduction is this time it wasn’t me, as I stated in my last entry I liked Raven, I’m also not stupid to cross my own father in such a way, I may be his daughter but I’m fairly sure I’m not totally immune to him taking my head should I hurt him deeply enough.

I’ve had to watch him come apart, the man in the Mansion right now is a shell, empty hollow, and he hasn’t said a word to anyone in almost a fortnight, I ask if he’s OK, but he just looks at me lost, scared and I dare say feeling very alone right now, it’s the same sadness I saw after he and my mother were forced to go their separate ways, while my mother may not be dead, I would be willing to bet the pain was just as real.

The weird thing i I don’t think Katrina believes it really was me, she is just eliminating the obvious, or it’sgothicredheadfairy a real twisted way of getting into my knickers … wow I really just said that … the issue with all this is no one in Dentarius had motive to want Raven dead, she was healer, not Sarantha powerful but still a healer, a White Mage, they’re not even dangerous, unless she happens to be dating my Dad, but then we’re right back to that. The motive of this killing is clearly to get to Dad, it as I said before was because she wouldn’t bring him back into the fold with the Elveran High Council (Yes, they think they are that important now), of course they fundamentally screwed any chance now.

The only issue I have with me been in here is now I’m a sitting duck, if they want to stop me finding the truth it wouldn’t be too hard for them to get to me, I’m unarmed and behind bars, there are ways to make that work, no one in the entire Everlands is stupid enough to go hand to hand against an Elcarus, and the location of these cells just so happens to send magical abilities on the blink, why else would we have built them here? But from that side of the bars? With a fire arm or bow or other weapon I’m kinda screwed, I hope Katrina is keeping the door well guarded, in the meantime I will sit I will think and hopefully I’ll find a way out.

Dragon Wars – Elcarus History

There is a truth that Dentarians are among the most resilient people in the Everlands, it’s very true they survived the worst assault by the Dragons and the Dragon Riders, took the worst from the Magi Armies that marched beneath them, every able man went to fight that day, farmer and merchant alike arm in arm as they went to war to protect their home, we went too.

We were among the first into battle, and we were among the first to suffer a real loss, they went for Haunted right out of the gate his power was unmatched and they knew it, hard as it is to think they cut him in two but not before he downed two of their dragons. He may have died but he didn’t go down lightly, the Magi took out Krystal as it was his barrier that prevent their access, I remember the blind panic seeing him fall, Hades and I had no choice but to fight for are we had, Ascondia, Aerian and even Heart all fighting for our home.

The odd thing is they left us alive and went for the mansion, the heart of our power, well not truly but it is a beacon of hope here in Dentarius, it is here that our power is really in that we are here for Dentarius always, when ever the realm struggle we will stand and we will fight. Those early days were bad but as the Mansion burned it became clear our presence was going to keep them here, so we made a choice, with Haunteds barrier spells in place over the library the history was safe, but the realm wasn’t so we left.

It is not for pity I tell you this tale but to remind us all that sometimes our best intentions cause the worst consequences, the Dragons followed us but the closer we came to the centre of the Everlands the weaker they became their power only holds as long s they are close to the nexus take that away and they are as harmless as a mortal. Our world is carefully interconnected almost everything has a purpose and if we forget that then we are doomed to fail.

Hallowed Home

Its odd, everything I wanted to say as I walked through those doors, but the emptiness, the hollow echo of wood on stone, the loneliness that flooded from that place was hard. Elcarus Mansion had once stood as a testament to the economic bounty that flowed through Dentarius now there was just nothing.

fantasy-office-castleThe doors clattered shut behind me, the magic of the Mansion was still there but heartbeat man that was gone, as I made my way to the main hall, the stairs that led up to the upper levels as lavish as ever and the short hallway to the side had light which meant dad was in his office.

I knocked but there was no answer so instead I stepped in, and right there looking hollow himself was him, the legend that was Kane Elcarus, the man who had brought me into this world and then fought an entire legacy to keep me there, he had defied laws and rules to keep me safe, he had killed to keep my mother safe, he had been betrayed and lost so much it was hard to believe that it was indeed him.

“Hi Dad” I uttered softly

“Welcome Home” was all he said and then held me, every ounce of hate simply melted away, every stretch of anger simply vanished, I hated him for that too, but he was my father and I knew he had my back despite his dislike of my current work choices.

I pushed out his grip and steeled myself then smiled

“My room still on the third floor?” And he nodded So i hoisted up my back pack and left, I did’t want to fall into a simple path of forgiveness I needed time to process a few things, I left the office and made my way to my room.

A Piece of the Past

I remember that morning so well, I could feel immediately as she stepped onto the hallowed ground of the Mansion, once you go through those gates if your family we know, it had been so long how do you greet the daughter who thinks you abandoned her during the worst battle in history.

And it’s true to some degree, in my need to save the town I forgot about her, not forgot as in forgot who she was but lost sight of where she was at the time, as herded everyone out of the village I lost sight of most of the family.

sticklepath fireshow 12That night would all of us for some time, it took a need to belong to bring me back but as for her, I couldn’t say, she is one of the smartest girls I have ever know a testament to all she’s survived, while I disagree with her methods of employ, I cannot help but feel proud of the woman she became in the end.

With so little guidance you’d think a child would become a monster, with so much power she had that potential and when she was young I worried, the arguments between her mother and I all of them spread dissension among us, but in the end she chose a path and she became strong willed and able to take care of herself and those around her.

She fought with the family on the front lines of the dragon war, she never once shied from the enemy nor did she give any quarter in that battle, there is a saying in Dentarius that if you put an Elcarus in a battle you had better pray you don’;t meet them on that field. It was indeed true that day, we together as a family halted the Dragon Army, unfortunately it cost us our home, and our bond, it also took the lives of two of my brothers, a heavy price on us all that day.

Aerian Elcarus the daughter of myself and Ascondia, Queen of the Everlands, conceived in secret raised in mystery, but she drew strength from that and I am never prouder than of that young woman walking toward the mansion this day.

A Thief, and A Whore!

So I’m heading through the Valerian Forest, a place you don’t go unless you can take care of yourself, or at least have a weapon you’re capable of using, Uncle Heart said you only travel the forest if you’re brave or stupid and usually you have to be both to survive, that’s cool though I mean I’ve done this trip a 100 times before and always come out ok.

Today was going to be slightly different though, I got to the middle I guess and stopped as usual for a break beside the lake, this place is gorgeous, you can only imagine the light as it filters along the surface, so calm and serene, I kind of like it here because it’s so quiet.

Waiting-for-the-elves

This is pretty much when my day was wrecked I feel a blade at the back of neck.

“Don’t move” A voice, female, that’s something I think at least when I turn around I can kick her ass “Drop the weapons” that’s a bit of a problem if she knows I’m armed then, she has to know me

“Who are you?” I snarled coldly, “At least give me that much” sadly that was all I remember except the crack to the back of my head causing me to pass out.

When I woke up I was tied to a tree, I mean come on how unoriginal for god sakes, but there she was prepping up my nicely build fire, some kind of crazy assassin chick, she was smart I’ll give her that, tying me up at least for the moment prevented me kicking her teeth down her throat. And she must have known it because she stripped me of all my weapons, this girl knew me and that worried me.

“Oh the whores awake!” She sneered of course that only annoyed me more, I was going to seriously hurt this girl

Ninja-Girl

“One more and I swear on my father I will tear you apart!” Confident, my father told me that no matter the situation stay confident and your opponent will never best you in any situation

“Good to see your spirit is intact whore, it’ll be good when you die” She shrugged as if she was unafraid of me, not many we’re that stupid to be unafraid of an Elcarus

“You do know ho I am right? I mean even if you did manage to kill me you would only incur the wrath of many of my family” I growled “Are you really that stupid?”

“Your family hasn’t been seen in centuries, and even if they aren’t dead as most suspect it’ll be a decade before they work out you’re dead, and longer before they find you” She seemed so confident maybe I should be worried, of course I would never show weakness I haven’t survived this long by been a coward or showing fear.

She moved in front of me her eyes dark and piercing, she watched me intently for a few a moments a look almost searching me as deep as could be, it was in a way quite erotic, a thought I quickly shoved aside as I remembered she had knocked me out and tied me up.

“Tell me was it all worth it?” She whispered leaning into me now “Was my husband worth it?”

Oh god …. what did I do to him? “If he was on my list I’m sorry but he upset the wrong people”

“Oh he isn’t dead, wouldn’t be a bad thing if he was, no-no my husband you slept with him and stole a gold and ruby wrist bracelet, worth a lot in the right hands, took me some time to track down the culprit” she watched my reaction of which there was none because I knew where this was going “The buyer, he told me a tale of a thief so silent it would be impossible to find her, but ask the right questions in the right places and even the most covered of tracks can be found”

I drew a shallow breath her been so close was not good for my senses, and she was beginning to fluster me

“The great Aerian Elcarus, master thief and here she is tied to a tree by a woman she has never met, I thought you more of a challenge than that” She sneered, that was it I thought a my wrists blade caught the rope and cut me free i snapped up my hand pinning her throat into the cold ground of course it’d be too easy as she kicked me clear I landed on me feet and we fought hand to hand, a heated aggressive battle, she was good real good, she had trained for combat against me

I only wish I had seen the knife coming, I merely felt it pierce my flesh causing me to react with a fireball sending her clear across the clearing and me on the ground gasping for breath “I’m going to have to kill you now” I snarled darkly as I pulled the knife out and made my way to her eyes wild with panic, I crumpled down straddling her waist with enough force to stop any reaction in return

bloody-dagger2

“I had a job to do, I could have killed him and you and I chose not to, despite my orders to ensure I never be traced I chose to leave you both living and this, you couldn’t let it be you came after me and you forfeit your own life for that”  I raised the knife above my head intending to bring it down into her heart, as it came down it plunge deep into the ground beside her “If you follow me I promise you will die”

She motioned for me to lean-to her as I did her lips caught mine throwing me off completely the next I knew we were deep inside a passionate kiss …..

A “Heart”felt Homecoming

My god this place feels weird, the temporal barriers that prevented entry have faded, that was the first surprise, if they’ve been taken down then Dentarius is finally safe again, the memories still haunt me. So much blood and worse the heat of the fires, the city burned for days, believe me the screams would be enough to scare anyone.

But enough of the past, I was walking through the falkrie forest when I caught a glimpse of the valley, something you can’t see when the barrier was up, Haunted made sure the city was locked away after we all left, or so we thought, only some of the original inhabitants remained, the barrier there to force ther Longar forces out of our home, its a one way deal, you can leave but you cant re-enter, simply because you couldn’t find your back.

It’s a weird kind of deal the closer you get the more disorientated you become, the Elcarus power as a whole is quite impressive. and trust me when I say Haunted is not someone anyone with half a brain wishes to anger.

Magical_BarrierSo on with my tale, as I said I was walking through the forest when I noticed I could see the valley, I can’t not go take a look right? So I wander on down and to my amazement at the top of the hill as it always has been stands Elcarus Mansion, I saw that place take a direct hit from half a dozen dragons. It shouldn’t be there, much less look like it had never been touched.

The woodwork was new though, that was obvious even from way up here, I’ve set up camp for the night, tomorrow I will go see, either who has invaded the place and hopefully force them out or I’ll get my ass kicked and you’ll never hear from me again.

Elcarus Mansion served as my home for a long time it is, as much as I dislike the concept my duty to protect it, I will be grateful for the repairs and then take the place for my own.

Weird Feelings

You ever have those days which leave you wondering … Wow how did I go so wrong? I do quite regularly these days it seems, I’m back in Elvera Castle doing some odd jobs, alchemy, barrier protections that kind of thing, and I see myself wondering over the great eye. You know that thing that supposedly sees all?

cityattheendoftime1

For decades Ascondia barely moved from that thing and it kept our enemies largely at bay, though somehow it missed the castle been attacked by dragons shortly after they’d finished with Dentarius, so I’m told there was nothing left, the funny thing is every mage on hand was able to errect a barrier spell with enough power to literally hold the caslt e in place, for 3 days they lay seige to us, eventully as one may imagine they gave up.

They never returned so we assume for the moment either we’re too much trouble or they see no value in attacking us again. Smaller outlying villages will not be so lucky.

But anyway back to my point as I stare into this infernal sphere of … presence? Maybe I dont know I see an image, Kane somehow he survived, the Mansion is well on it’s way to being rebuilt and he hasn’t so much as bothered to let any of us know he’s still alive. It know his wife Raven still hasn’t been seen or heard from in quite some time but thats not to say she isnt still around.

Hmm still I will continue to watch see how things transpire.

Hades Elcarus

Repairs Begin

So I spent the week surveying what’s last of the mansion, the good news is Haunteds protective charms held and the library held, even after the direct hits it took to the northern wall, so the Elcarus Legacy and histories are intact, that was one of our biggest concerns as a whole, hard work to loose that, could take the rest of my days tracking down copies of those books.

Old_library_1,_University_of_SalamancaI also spoke to to Master Haven this morning and he has agreed to supply me with the wood I’ll need to rebuild the frames and get the mansion more secure, once I’ve done that then it will be a trip to the stone mason to begin repairs on the brick work, it could take years to fully build the mansion back to its glory but I’m an Elcarus, this mansion has been built and rebuilt over the last eight centuries.

Our family are steadfast in our resolve, but my god this would be far easier with the others around, maybe I should try to contact them. I know Krystal returned to Brigane to his wife, at least that’s the last I heard of him, and as for Haunted I have no clue. Hades is probably still sulking in some far reach realm.

I myself rebuilt this place about 300 years ago, of course there was far less damage to it back then, deserted and weather damaged was far easier to repair than hammered half to oblivion by dragons.

Aerians Trials

Urgh …. I HATE SNOW, dammit why do I get myself into these things? I was sent to retrieve some amulet for the queen but this, I never asked for this I mean come on, this is insane!!

lotr-ice-caveI mean come on this is crazy!! Who knows what’s down here and what’s worse is I’m pretty sure my powers are on the fritz again … Dad told me this would happen, but this is just damn inconvenient  or I’m just getting too old for all this. Still I’m getting paid quite well for this so it’ll be kinda worth it, If I ever find that damn temple down here.

I suppose I should be grateful Dad choose to educate me in weapon play before he headed home, wonder if he made it? Wonder how the mansion is after the war? That dragon hit the mansion pretty hard, Uncle Krystals magic would only have held for so long but those were some damn powerful dragons, didn’t think they still existed. It was sad leaving the town burning like that ….

We had no choice though, the portal got almost everybody out of Dentarius though, so that’s good. Damn Longar hit us out of nowhere, after we signed the treaty too, sneaky bastards they were. I only hope they are burning in the depths of Uncle Hades hell dimension.

sticklepath fireshow 12Now there’s somewhere you should be afraid to go. That place is freaking creepy!! Bit like this place only, not so cold.

Still if this map is right I should be OK  but why are my abilities out? The rock formations maybe? Maybe I should have read those history books of Dads to understand. I know he said there are environments that affect how we can use them, I never saw him struggle though, he always had access to them.

I only hope my healing abilities aren’t out or I really am screwed down here, why did I have to come alone again? … Oh yea I’m an Elcarus … ya Elcarus I may be, invincible I’m not, I’m a teen girl for god sakes, well …. no but …. well … oh never mind not like anyone will EVER read this. Why am I even keeping a diary anyways?

Ah to hell with it on I go to find this damn Ice Palace, retrieve the amulet and get the hell out of here.

Nevermind … Found it!

So all I have to do now is get in, err anyone see a door? Hahaha so here we go.
